DESCRIPTION  

The City of Thousand Oaks is excited to announce the creation of a new Engineering Division Manager position within the Public Works Department. This newly established role, has been created to further strengthen our commitment to infrastructure excellence and service. Unlike similar roles in the City, this position has not been previously filled and offers a unique opportunity to shape and lead a critical division focused on engineering and construction of the City’s critical infrastructure. Depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate, this position will be responsible for overseeing complex engineering projects related to the City's water and wastewater infrastructure, ensuring the continued reliability and advancement of these vital systems. 

The Public Works Department is seeking an innovative and proactive Engineering Division Manager who will be responsible for leading and managing the design, engineering and construction management to advance and protect the capital investments in the City’s critical public infrastructure.    

PRIMIARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Provide leadership to direct engineering and project management activities to advance challenging and comprehensive engineering capital projects.  

• Provide strategic and tactical planning by leveraging knowledge of engineering while aligning with the City’s overall goals.

The City of Marysville is seeking qualified candidates for the position of a Public Works Director; this recruitment will fill 1 vacancy and create an eligible list.  

Reporting directly to the City Manager, this position is responsible for executive direction, strategic leadership, and management of the Public Works Department, including City maintenance workers and capital improvement projects. 

As the principal administrator of the Public Works Department, the Director; plans, organizes, directs, reviews and manages all department activities and functions including Engineering, Parks and Recreation, Streets, Public Facilities, Wastewater Treatment/Sewage, and Storm Water Management.

The Director also coordinates departmental activities with other City departments, outside agencies, community groups and individuals; and provides highly complex professional advice and support to the City Manager and City Council; assures department compliance with and enforcement of applicable federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, and codes; manages and supervises staff; serves as a member of the City’s Executive Team.

REQUIREMENTS

Education and Certification

Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar major.

Licenses: Possess valid California Class C Driver’s License.

Experience

Incumbents must have a minimum of three (3) years of managerial experience directly involving municipal services such as public works, public utilities, capital improvement project management, parks maintenance and management, and/or street and facilities maintenance.

The City of Thousand Oaks is seeking a forward-thinking and results-driven Budget Officer to play a pivotal leadership role in the Finance Department. This is a unique opportunity to shape the City’s financial planning and guide high-impact initiatives that support citywide service delivery and long-term fiscal sustainability.  

As the strategic leader of the City’s biennial budget process, the Budget Officer collaborates with all departments, provides key insights to executive leadership, and ensures transparent, data-informed decision-making. With the City currently implementing a new budget software, the successful candidate will take ownership of the system and be responsible for producing the final budget documents in both print and digital formats. As part of this effort, the Budget Officer will lead a refresh of the City’s performance measures, working with departments to integrate meaningful, outcome-focused metrics into the budget. 

The City is preparing to undertake a comprehensive ERP system replacement, and the Budget Officer will serve as a key member of the implementation team, helping to shape financial functionality and ensure a smooth transition to the new platform.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Budget Strategy, Development, and Reporting 

• Lead the development and administration of the City’s biennial Operating and Capital Improvement budgets  

• Lead the development and administration of the City’s biennial User Fees, Fines, and Penalties Schedule 

• Lead the development and administration of the City’s annual Cost Allocation Plan  

• Collaborate with departments to align financial resources with City goals and priorities 

• Develop multi-year financial forecasts and monitor trends to support long-term planning  

• Write clear, concise, and effective staff reports to communicate complex financial information to City leadership and the public 

• Prepare and present budget reports and other financial information for internal and external stakeholders 

System Implementation and Innovation 

• Take ownership of the City’s new budget software system and the development of the online and PDF versions of the Adopted Operating and CIP budgets  

• Streamline and improve the City’s Monthly Financial Report  

• Play a key role in the planning and implementation of the City’s future ERP system replacement 

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement innovative processes 

 Financial Reporting & Capital Management 

• Oversee capital asset budgeting and coordinate with departments on project funding and tracking  

• Analyze financial and operational data to provide insights and recommendations to executive leadership 

• Develop tools and reports to improve transparency and decision-making across the organization 

Leadership & Collaboration 

• Supervise and mentor direct report(s), fostering ownership, accountability, and professional growth  

• Serve as a trusted advisor to the Finance Director and senior management

Communication & Training

The County of Glenn is seeking an Assistant Director of Public Works who is a strategic, collaborative, and confident leader with effective communication skills. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead complex engineering projects that provide essential services throughout Glenn County. Reporting directly to the Public Works Director, the Assistant Public Works Director will serve as a project manager for a variety of public works and capital improvement projects, including the design and construction of roads, bridges and storm drainage infrastructure.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives general direction from the Director of Public Works; exercises direct supervision over professional engineering, technical engineering and clerical staff.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Social Worker Supervisor III in the Child and Adult Protective Services division of the Health and Human Services Department. Under general supervision this position plans, assigns, supervises, trains, reviews and evaluates the work of Social Workers assigned to adult and child protective services; oversees and performs social services case work of a complex and difficult nature in providing a variety of social services to County residents; performs case work of varying scope and complexity and may provide program leadership and consultative services; responsible for program planning and implementation as well as performance of the most complex work and the full range of work supervised on a relief or overflow basis and performs other duties as assigned. This position is the specialized supervisory professional level in the social worker series and reports directly to a Health and Human Services Program Manager.

• Plan, organize, assign, supervise, review and evaluate the work of various levels of professional social work staff in the area of adult and child protective services.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the classification of Social Worker II. Under general supervision, incumbents perform moderately complex social services case work by providing a variety of services to County residents; conducting field visits; identifying, assessing and arranging alternative solutions to clients’ needs and obstacles; carry a moderately complex caseload; prepare and monitor plans; prepare court reports, depending on area of assignment; and perform related work as assigned. The work may be related to a specific program area or to more general social service benefit provision.

Example of Duties:

• Interview and counsel a diverse population of clients; isolate barriers to self-sufficiency; and evaluate need for services and/or make appropriate referrals to training, public assistance and social services programs.

Experience:

• Possession of , or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California Class B driver's license with Tanker endorsement within the probationary period. 
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a California Water Environment Association Grade III Certificate within 18 months of employment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
