POSITION DETAILS:
- Salary range $37.94 to $48.60 hourly with Excellent Benefits (see below)
- Regular full-time position, with the option of a 9/80 work schedule (every other Monday or Friday off)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education/Training:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in wastewater collection system maintenance or a related field.
Experience:
Four years of wastewater collection system maintenance experience including one year of administrative or lead supervisory responsibility.
License or Certificate:
- Possession of , or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California Class B driver's license with Tanker endorsement within the probationary period.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a California Water Environment Association Grade III Certificate within 18 months of employment.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and hands-on expertise in wastewater collection operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising maintenance teams to ensure efficient repairs, inspections, and upkeep of wastewater collection systems.
- Coordinating daily assignments, prioritizing work orders, and delivering timely service responses.
- Monitoring system performance and overseeing specialized equipment usage, such as hydrojetters, CCTV units, and vacuum trucks.
- Ensuring strict compliance with safety and environmental regulations, including state and federal reporting (SSO, CIWQS).
- Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities and preparing essential reports.
- Providing mentorship and training, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering professional growth within the team.
- Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and the public on sewer-related projects and infrastructure improvements.
- Responding swiftly to emergencies, including after-hours incidents when required

- The City contributes $158.00 per month and up to $2,269.44 per month in “Simiflex Dollars,” towards the cost of medical.
- “Simiflex Dollars” can be used to offset the cost of medical, dental, and/or vision insurance, or other optional benefits.
- Work/Life balance with 5.6 weeks of AL (Annual Leave) per year to start (AL combines vacation and sick time).
- Accruals increase at 5 years and 10 years of service.
- Cash out option available after one year of service.
- 11 paid holidays per year and one floating holiday per year.

- Dental insurance from Delta Dental costs the employee $0 to $31.10 per month for family coverage depending on the plan chosen.

- $101,000 employee coverage provided at the City's expense.

- Many positions offer a 9/80 schedule with alternative Monday or Friday off.
