The County of Yuba is actively recruiting to fill current vacancies and establish an employment list for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher within the Sheriff’s Department.  The incumbent receives 9-1-1 system sheriff, fire, medical emergency and rescue calls; dispatches sheriff, fire and medical personnel following established procedures; maintains communication with officers in the field to ensure safety and provide back-up and information; provides relief coverage for the records unit; and performs related work as assigned. These classifications require shift work and the ability to make decisions and act appropriately in stressful situations. The work also involves interdepartmental cooperation with various public safety agencies located throughout the County to coordinate the most effective response to requests for assistance from the public.

The County Counsel position, under direction of the Board of Supervisors, serves as principle legal counsel to the County of Glenn; plans, organizes, directs and reviews the functions and  activities for the County Counsel’s Office including advising County departments and employees on legal issues and representing those departments and employees in litigation; establish, monitor, evaluate and revise the office’s goals, objectives, policies, and procedures; coordinate assigned activities with other County departments and outside agencies.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Wildfire Resilience Coordinator will manage projects related to the overall MRCA efforts regarding wildfire resilience, including tracking and analyzing existing funding sources related to wildfire preparedness and response, supporting staff project as defined by the early action wildfire resilience plan, coordinating with other MRCA and SMMC staff members working on wildfire related projects and programs, preparing and documenting further regional needs.

This position requires a highly motivated, responsible, organized and self-starting individual who can handle an array of tasks at the same time as part of standard workload, has good judgment and can make decisions, and works well independently and as part of a small team.

This is professional and technical work pursuant to the terms of grants, contracts, and applicable regulations, involving frequent communication with others. Project managers must also build community and political support, seek funding opportunities, actively cooperate with other government agencies and non­profit organizations, and keep abreast of related planning processes. The work performed will support MRCA’s capital Workprogram for wildfire resilience including improvements, workforce development, ignition prevention and suppression, inspection and monitoring and structure hardening and other MRCA efforts related to public access, open space conservation, habitat restoration, and urban park development. Special projects assigned or led by the Chief of Staff will be supported by this position.

Supervision

This position reports to the Deputy Chief of Staff. Assorted tasks may be supervised by Executive Staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Implement multiple projects simultaneously: The project manager is the central point of contact on all issues concerning assigned projects and will be responsible for project quality. Perform project tracking, scheduling, and budget management.
• Coordinate between MRCA divisions to track agency-wide wildfire resilience efforts and guide the agency towards accomplishment of big picture wildfire resilience priorities.
• Perform day-to-day administration of grants, prepare required reports and ensure conformance with grant agreements. Analyze, verify and obtain payment approvals for invoices.
• Interagency coordination: Coordinate with Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy grantees to perform tracking and data management on wildfire resilience grants.
• Coordinate with Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, its grantees, and regional stakeholders to advance wildfire resilience efforts in Southern California.
• Determine project scope, options, and alternatives to overcome constraints. Revise as often as needed to address unexpected conditions.
• Demonstrate proactivity to initiate and drive projects, leveraging past experiences, consulting with colleagues, and referencing relevant documentation to successfully launch and manage projects without established precedents.
• Oversee consultants and contractors, manage contracts, coordinate project team and collaborate with coworkers to ensure that the project scope is completed according to grant agreements, schedules, and cost limits. Assist in selection of consultants/contractors.
• Write and coordinate grant proposals and research new funding opportunities for wildfire resilience and workforce development related planning efforts.
• Cooperate with other team members to accomplish project goals; provide support to coworkers on other projects.
• Produce written materials including staff reports, text for publication, proposals, progress reports, and a variety of other documents.
• Write comprehensive reports based on samples, summarizing and analyzing information to provide clear conclusions in the sample's format and style
• Maintain positive relationships with coworkers, representatives of other government agencies, non-profit organizations, homeowner's associations, and the public at large.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position, occasionally move about inside the office to access supplies and office machinery, frequently communicate and exchange information, review handwritten, electronic and facsimile documents, observe site conditions, and operate a computer and other office productivity machinery. Occasionally work in outdoor weather conditions and move between multiple work sites. The employee must occasionally move items weighing up to 20 pounds inside the office.

Required Hours And Location

Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week with some scheduling flexibility. Occasional overtime work in evenings or weekends upon prior approval by supervisor. The position will work remotely and out of the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens but may be required to travel to various other locations. Offices at the River Center are spread among multiple buildings and floors.

Public Contact

As public parklands, the majority of MRCA properties are open to the general public during operating hours. This position will have contact with members of the public in public areas such as parking lots and shared public/office restrooms, and during public meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

• B.A. or B.S. degree or higher in preferably environmental studies, education, project management, landscape architecture, or related field. Experience may substituted for academic degree.

Knowledge of:

• Windows-based programs including word processing and spreadsheets, Office 365, iCompass.

Ability To:

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is looking for a Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) who will provide a variety of rehabilitative support services to clients. This position will be a part of a 3 year - federally funded MHSSA Grant Team set to end in 2026. Candidates must be able to facilitate the following: behavior modification, skill building, and self-care and safety in individual and/or group settings; demonstrates and coaches clients to promote and reinforce the use of effective coping strategies and techniques based on individual needs and treatment plans; performs outreach and provides linkages and referrals to a variety of behavioral health, community, and social services, resources, and systems of care; encourages full client engagement in services to promote wellness and recovery; and performs related duties as assigned. The Substance Use Disorder Counselor I/II position is located in the Behavioral Health division at the Health and Human Services Agency. This position performs a variety of para-professional and responsible eligibility determination and case management duties for alcohol and drug programs, including crisis services to individuals; and performs related duties as assigned. The Substance Use Disorder Counselor II is the full journey-level class within series and performs the full range of duties as assigned, responsible for direct client contact in the provision of case management including complex cases. This position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

• Performs client intake procedures, eligibility determinations and establishes case loads and services for programs in drug and alcohol, specialized programs, grant funded programs, and other health and human services programs.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking to fill vacancies for a Psychiatric Technician I/II for the Adult Outpatient Program/Adult Full-Service Partnership (FSP) Program. The Psychiatric Technician I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community by providing all manner of adjunctive medication support services. The Psychiatric Technician I/II will report to the Medication Support Team Supervisor and the Crisis & Medication Support Manager and work a 9/80 schedule.

Psychiatric Technician I: This is the entry-level classification in the Psychiatric Technician series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform routine medication monitoring, administration, and support, while learning Authority policies and procedures. 

Psychiatric Technician II: This is the journey-level classification in the Psychiatric Technician series. Positions at this level are distinguished from the Psychiatric Technician I by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned, working independently, and exercising judgment and initiative. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit.

• Under the direction of clinical staff, provides medication management services to a caseload of clients in the office and in the field; ensures the proper acquisition and administration of medication.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the positions of Assistant Engineer, Associate Engineer and Associate Civil Engineer for the Public Works Department in the Community Development and Services Agency. Currently, there are two vacancies that may be filled at either the Assistant Engineer, Associate Engineer, or Associate Civil Engineer level depending on qualifications. These classes are alternately staffed and incumbents may advance to the higher level after gaining experience, required certifications and demonstrating proficiency which meet the qualifications and expectations for the higher level class. The incumbent to this position will perform engineering work, including preparing design plans, specifications and engineering estimates related to roads, bridges, culverts and other County infrastructure; project management; assist in developing and administering professional services or construction project contracts; review plans and inspect projects; collect and present data and prepare reports; provide information and advice to the public and perform related work as assigned. 

Assistant Engineer: is the entry level in the civil engineer series. Assignments are intended to provide background in the fundamental principles and practices of public service engineering.

Associate Engineer: is the journey level in the civil engineer series. Under general supervision, incumbents independently conduct design, research and construction project inspection and analyses for a variety of projects within the county. Responsibilities may also include providing work direction to technical support staff.

Associate Civil Engineer: is the advanced journey level in the civil engineering series. Under general direction, incumbents perform professional engineer work and prepare civil design plans for various Public Works projects; independently conduct engineering feasibility cost, research and design studies and construction project work; analyses for varied department and agency projects and functions; signing off designs and as-built changes related to roads, bridges, culverts and other County infrastructure and perform related duties as assigned.
