The Extra Help Employee - Senior Nutrition Driver position, under the direction of the Senior  Nutrition Manager, will be responsible for ensuring the orderly and timely delivery of daily meals and services to senior citizens.  The position requires the ability to plan, organize and coordinate the meal preparation and delivery and congregate services in a courteous manner. The position is at-will, temporary, part-time and scheduled for up to twenty five (25) hours per week. 
 

JOB DUTIES

• Responsible for the safe transport of meals following all food safety principles.  
• Accurately pack cold food transport containers with cold food and beverages and ice packs. 
•  Treat all staff, volunteers and seniors with courtesy.  
• Schedule for the pickup and delivery of meals to seniors from the nutrition site.  
• Clean the inside and outside of all food transport containers each day. 
• Upon return to kitchen, unload van and place all equipment in appropriate storage areas. 
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety at senior nutrition site.  
   

The Policy Advisor for Public Safety is responsible for tracking and shaping policies related to law enforcement, emergency response services, probation, juvenile justice, and criminal justice reform. The Advisor works to ensure that public safety systems in District 1 are rehabilitative, transparent, equitable, and aligned with community needs. This position reports to the Director of Policy. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor board items and legislative actions related to the Sheriff’s Department, Probation, District Attorney, and emergency response.
• Draft board letters, amendments, talking points, and constituent updates.
• Draft talking points and speeches that communicate the elected’s policies, priorities, and vision to constituents, stakeholders, and community leaders
• Serve as liaison with community safety coalitions, violence prevention groups, and first responders.
• Provide support to the elected at community events coordinating scheduling, logistics, and constituent engagement.
• Conduct research and communicate policy ideas in support of the elected’s legislative agenda.
• Develop strategies that promote rehabilitation, accountability, de-escalation, diversion programs and reduce recidivism. 
• Track jail conditions, behavioral health service integration, and reentry programs.

The Policy Advisor for Land Use and Environment Group (LUEG) leads the Supervisor’s agenda in areas including the Tijuana River sewage crisis, environmental policy, transportation, housing, climate adaptation, agriculture, and regional planning. This person plays a key role in the Supervisor’s priorities for equitable development and environmental justice. This position reports to the Director of Policy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and advise on policies related to planning, permitting, housing sustainability, and transportation.
• Draft policy proposals, board letters, environmental reviews, and public updates.
• Draft talking points and speeches that communicate the elected’s policies, priorities, and vision to constituents, stakeholders, and community leaders.
• Monitor the County’s Climate Action Plan, general plan amendments, and mobility investments.
• Conduct research and communicate policy ideas in support of the elected’s legislative agenda.
• Provide support to the elected at community events coordinating scheduling, logistics, and constituent engagement.
• Engage with academic researchers, environmental advocates, housing developers, and regional planning agencies.

The Policy Advisor for Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) leads on all matters related to the County’s social services, public health, behavioral health, and child and senior welfare programs. This individual tracks policies, advocates for equitable investments in District 1, and helps design board actions that enhance public health, general welfare, and access to medical care and social support systems. This position reports to the Director of Policy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze HHSA initiatives and county programs related to the safety net, public health, behavioral health, homeless service, housing development, child welfare, and services for seniors and people with disabilities.
• Draft policy memos, board letters, and recommendations to address systemic inequities.
• Draft talking points and speeches that communicate the elected’s policies, priorities, and vision to constituents, stakeholders, and community leaders.
• Serve as a liaison to County departments, community-based organizations, and health justice advocates.
• Conduct research and communicate policy ideas in support of the elected’s legislative agenda.
• Coordinate with the Director of Community Engagement to elevate on-the-ground feedback.

CHILD SUPPORT SPECIALIST I

Performs a wide variety of child support duties consisting of maintaining a caseload, locating and interviewing custodial and non-custodial parents and others to elicit factual information for the purpose of establishing child support obligations and enforcing child support laws; arranges for support payments when possible; prepares cases for court hearings as necessary; and performs related work as required.

Working under close supervision, Child Support Specialist I is the entry/trainee level in the Child Support Specialist series. Employees in this class receive in-service training, and are given detailed instructions in the performance of duties related to child support laws, regulations, and a broad range of child support casework activities. As requisite skills and knowledge are developed, greater independence and the full scope of responsibility are exercised. Employees are expected to promote to Child Support Specialist II after one year of satisfactory performance at the entry/trainee level.

CHILD SUPPORT SPECIALIST II

Performs a wide variety of child support duties consisting of maintaining a caseload, locating and interviewing custodial and non-custodial parents and others to elicit factual information for the purpose of establishing child support obligations and enforcing child support laws; arranges for support payments when possible; prepares cases for court hearings as necessary; and performs related work as required.

Working under general supervision, Child Support Specialist II is the journey level in the Child Support Specialist series. Employees at this level are expected to perform a broad range of child support casework from intake to establishment, enforcement, and case closure. Within legal requirements and departmental policies and procedures, incumbents operate with considerable independence and must exercise discretion and judgment in evaluating cases and determining the level of support and the methods of enforcement. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the lower level of Child Support Specialist I, or if filled from the outside, require prior related experience.

Child Support Specialist II differs from the higher class of Child Support Specialist III in that the latter is the advanced journey level, and incumbents act as lead worker or exercise detailed subject knowledge of a specific program area or specialized department system.

CHILD SUPPORT SPECIALIST III

Under limited supervision, the Child Support Specialist III performs a wide variety of child support duties involving the more difficult and/or sensitive cases; performs special assignments; maintains a caseload; and performs related work as required.

The Child Support Specialist III is the advanced journey level in the Child Support Specialist series. Incumbents act as the lead-worker to a group of child support staff, and/or exercise detailed subject matter knowledge of a specific program area or specialized system inherent to the operations of the department.

Positions in this class differ from those in the class of Child Support Specialist II by the assignment of complex, sensitive or confidential cases requiring advanced technical skills. Incumbents may act in a lead capacity, may provide training to lower-level Child Support Specialists and may participate in special projects such as audits and/or quality control reviews.

Assists or acts as a primary resource to Child Support Attorney.

Attends court hearings to obtain payments and to testify to financial or case matters.

Provides guidance to Child Support Specialists as a technical expert.

Assigns and coordinates work performed by lower level Child Support Specialists.

Reviews lower level cases for quality control, audit, and/or training purposes.

Researches, develops, and conducts group and/or one-on-one training for new and existing staff.

Acts as the supervisor for administrative purposes in the supervisor's absence.

Uses a variety of methods, systems and procedures for locating absent parents, including contacting other agencies, utilizing databases and web-based searches.

May perform State mandated functions, including but not limited to: ombudsperson, customer and community outreach, quality assurance and program improvement, training, Fair Hearing Officer, and/or media relations.

This position is located in the Glenn County Health and Human Services Agency, Behavioral Health Division, Substance Use Disorders Services Unit and provides community outreach advocacy services, presents informational sessions, performs prevention, and outreach for at-risk populations; prepares, researches, and presents health system materials; and performs related duties as assigned. The position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Advises contacts and clients of community resources available for resolution of behavioral health problems; acts as an advocate for individuals to help them understand their rights and advocate for their expressed wants.
• Coordinates and facilitates youth activities and awareness programs; provides safe learning environment for adolescents; drug, alcohol and tobacco prevention programs.
• Works with sub-contractors, consultants and outside community members on various program issues and functions.

Under the direct supervision, performs a variety of difficult and complex professional officer and field engineering work; prepares plans, designs, and specifications for a variety of the Department of Public Works projects; reviews work prepared by outside consultants; prepares engineering reports; and performs related duties as assigned.

Full Time, Part Time, and/or Remote. Primary duty is to review and comment on plans, specifications, and estimates for capital improvement projects. Projects may include road, bridge, and airport improvements. Must live in California and possess a California Professional Civil Engineer License.

The County of Yuba is recruiting for the position of Social Worker III/III Master’s Level in the Child and Adult Protective Services Division of the Health & Human Services Department in an effort to establish an eligibility list for future vacancies. Under general supervision, incumbents are fully competent to independently perform the most complex and sensitive social services case work by providing a variety of services to County residents; identify, access and document abuse and neglect cases; provide counseling and support services to children and parents; refer clients to services; prepare detailed, complex court documents and testify in court as required; and perform related work as assigned. The work may be related to a specific program area or to more general social service benefit provision.
