How You Will Make an Impact:

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is seeking a Project Coordinator to support the agency's affordable housing initiatives and asset management goals. The Coordinator handles a mix of technical and administrative tasks, including responding to inquiries, researching and compiling information, and managing specialized reporting projects. Additionally, the role involves tracking and reconciling financial, operational, and statistical records. The Coordinator also provides confidential support to management, staff, and various boards. This position assists with onboarding new hires and manages office arrangements for team members. It's a dynamic and flexible position requiring a mix of organizational skills and attention to detail.

What Our Team Is Looking For: 

Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience likely to provide the required core competencies may be considered. A typical combination that is qualifying may include: 

• An associate's degree and two years of experience providing administrative support in the community development, real estate, affordable housing, finance, public or business administration or related field. 
• Certification as a California Notary Public is desirable.

Possession of a valid California Driver's License and satisfactory driving record at the time of appointment is required as a condition of initial and continued employment only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than the employee's ability to get to/from various work locations in a timely manner, is necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Gilroy is recruiting an undergraduate or graduate-level City Emergency Management College Summer Intern for the summer of 2026. This internship will provide a significant opportunity to gain experience and exposure and accumulate skills that are used daily in city government emergency management programs that make substantial impacts to the community. The Emergency Management Team works year-round to ensure that community is prepared for disasters through planning, training, outreach, and coordination with local and regional partners. Joining our team means contributing to meaningful work that directly supports community reliance and preparedness. 

Working under the supervision of the Emergency Services and Volunteer Coordinator, the Emergency Management Intern will assist with planning, preparedness, outreach, and administrative functions that support OEM programs and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) readiness. Work includes both office-based and field support activities.

Overview:

The Assistant Engineer I/II in the Construction Management Services Unit performs essential execution-level civil engineering and construction management support functions for Valley Water capital construction projects. This position performs professional engineering tasks related to managing construction contracts, including reviewing and processing contractor submittals and requests for information (RFIs), interpreting contract documents, evaluating design changes, and supporting change orders and construction claims. The Assistant Engineer I/II provides continuity during the transition from pre-construction into construction by supporting constructability review, contract administration setup, early contractor coordination, and issue resolution as work progresses. The role supports project delivery by providing timely technical analysis and coordination support under the direction of Associate and Senior Engineering staff to manage construction risks related to cost, schedule, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform professional civil engineering duties in support of construction contract management for various capital projects, including technical review of construction activities, evaluation of construction issues, and coordination with construction management, inspection staff, and contractors to support issue resolution.
• Review, track, and respond to contractor RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and design clarifications; interpret contract documents and coordinate with design engineers and construction management staff to support timely resolution of construction issues.
• Support evaluation and documentation of construction contract changes, including change orders, force account work, and claims; assist with technical analysis and preparation of supporting documentation.
• Review plans, specifications, and contractor-submitted work products for conformance with professional codes, standards, and Valley Water requirements as part of quality control and constructability support efforts.
• Review and apply statutes, regulations, and contract requirements related to construction activities; support documentation and coordination to ensure compliance during construction and project closeout.

Ideal Experience:

Assistant Engineer I: None-One (0-1) year of professional civil and/or internship or public agency engineering experience.

Assistant Engineer I & II: Work or internship experience related to construction projects and managing construction contracts preferred.

Ideal Knowledge:

• Principles, practices, concepts, and standards of engineering as applied to the assigned field/specialty of engineering.
• Principles of mathematics and their application to engineering work.

Ideal Training and Education:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or a related field.

OR

Possession of a valid California Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate with two (2) years of associated paraprofessional engineering experience.

The City of San José Information Technology Department seeks an experienced City Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead cybersecurity Citywide initiatives.
 
The CISO will direct the Cybersecurity Office as the City’s principal executive leader for information and systems security. In partnership with the Chief Information Officer (CIO), they will manage risk identification, protection and compliance, threat detection, incident response (IR), and recovery services for all City departments to ensure business resilience.
 
The City’s CISO must be able to apply expertise in security strategy, cybersecurity frameworks, managing staff and vendor services, leading incident management, and optimizing resources to achieve desired security outcomes.
 
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Lead and mentor the Cybersecurity team, offering expertise and support to foster growth and a collaborative environment. 
• Collaborate with business units and solution providers to provide optimal security measures and achieve a balance between sustaining business operations and achieving security compliance.
• Coordinate with stakeholders within the City and partners/vendors outside of the City to ensure information and systems meet the City’s standards for threat identification, protection, and risk detection.

We are looking for creative problem-solving team players, who enjoy the challenge of a variety of projects ranging from new construction multi-family housing to the renovation and rehabilitation of existing structures to the repurposing of commercial properties and master planning for affordable housing.

Best qualified candidates, depending on level (Assistant, Staff, Senior), will have a Bachelors Degree and between at least one (1) to three (3) years of previous experience developing affordable housing using Federal and State funding sources, pro formas and financial model analysis, and reviewing and negotiating real estate development transactional documents. Strong problem-solving and effective communication skills to work with all cross-functional partners through the project.

The Department: 

Silicon Valley Power (SVP) currently provides over 40 percent of Santa Clara’s electricity from carbon-free renewable resources. In addition to using green energy from large-scale wind, solar, geothermal and hydroelectric projects outside of the area, SVP employs innovative ways to locally produce electricity by capturing and burning methane gas from a closed city landfill and using power from solar generating systems on city-owned garages and vacant, unusable land. The Position: 

Under direct supervision, the Assistant Electric Utility Engineer performs a variety of entry-level professional electric utility engineering field and office work in Electric system planning, electric system design, construction and/or maintenance programs.  SVP invites applications from dynamic and innovative qualified candidates for an entry level engineering position. Assistant Electric utility engineer will be part engineering team to conduct design, establish standards and implement construction projects. Incumbents may be assigned to work in any division in the Electric Department reporting to a Principal, Senior Electric Utility Engineer, Electric Utility Engineer Division Manager, Assistant Director or Director.

The salary range for this position is $145,678.08 – $185,797.44.   This position may be filled at or near the minimum of the salary range. 

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements: 

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with: 
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering from a college or university that is accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET).

               OR

• • Possession of a State of California Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) Certificate and at least 1 year of experience in electrical or mechanical engineering office and/or field work, and Experience using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Mathlab).

License/Certifications: 

Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license is required at time of appointment and for the duration of employment.

Desirable Qualifications: 

• Registration as an Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineer in the State of California.
• Experience using ESRI based Geographic Information System (GIS).

• Must be able to perform all of the essential functions of the job assignment.
• May be required to work shifts, weekends, and odd and unusual hours in the performance of duties and emergency situations.
