The Position

This position is part of the Food Waste Reduction team, which works to reduce food loss and waste while supporting soil health, local economies, and access to nutritious food.

The Program Manager I supports program implementation, partnerships, and technical assistance related to food waste prevention and edible food recovery. This includes working with consultants and grantees, coordinating pilot projects, developing resources, supporting SB 1383 compliance, and directly engaging with local governments, businesses, schools, and community partners.

This role is ideal for someone who can manage projects independently while collaborating across teams and with external partners. The Program Manager I will take ownership of discrete program components, operating under the direction of a Senior Program Manager while supporting broader team initiatives.

THE POSITION

Under general direction of the Water Resources Division Manager, this position serves as the Chief Plant Operator of the City’s Water Reclamation Plant (wastewater treatment). The selected candidate will plan, organize, direct and manage the operation of the Water Reclamation Plant including wastewater treatment and recycled water production. They will coordinate activities with other sections/divisions/departments, external customers, regional wastewater agencies, and contractors. This position will ensure that all regulatory compliance targets are met and act as a liaison to regulatory agencies. This position requires a valid Grade IV Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate issued by the State Water Resources Control Board at the time of appointment.

Experience: Equivalent to at least four (4) years of increasingly responsible Analyst level experience in a Human Resources Department. Experience in a supervisory or lead capacity is desired. Additional education, such as a graduate degree in one of the above disciplines from an accredited college or university may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Desirable Experience: Experience in high level complex, high volume recruitments, and compensation analysis. Excellent communication skills and presentation skills, ability to develop strong rapport with hiring managers and provide outstanding customer service to internal and external clients. This position requires the incumbent to occasionally travel to District facilities, with the flexibility to work early mornings, late afternoons/evenings, and or on the weekends as needed for events at various District locations and in the community. AC Transit is seeking a Finance Systems Project Manager. Under general direction serves as the project manager leading a variety of complex, finance systems-related projects. This position works with department end-users, Innovation and Technology (IT) staff, consultants and, vendors to translate business and operational requirements into workable finance system solutions. Incumbents in this position provide training and technical assistance in the use of the system software.

This classification is distinguished from other finance classifications by the assigned project management responsibilities leading District-wide, finance systems-related projects and studies of considerable size and complexity. Incumbents at this level are expected to operate with a high degree of professional judgment and independence, providing technical and functional direction to vendors, professional, technical, and contract staff.

The Alameda Contra Costa Transit District has established the goal of a 100 percent drug and alcohol-free workplace. In accordance with federal requirements, all job applicants selected for appointments in a safety sensitive position are subject to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing. A final job applicant will be tested for five prohibited drugs: Cocaine, PCP, Amphetamines, Marijuana and Opiates. During employment, employees holding safety sensitive positions are subject to random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing. Additionally, in the event of an absence of more than 90 days from a safety sensitive position, pre-employment drug testing will be performed.
