The City of Dixon is recruiting one (1) Senior Lifeguard/ Swim Instructor for the 2026 Aquatic Season.

The Senior Lifeguard/Swim Instructor performs a variety of duties to ensure the City of Dixon swimming pool is a safe and enjoyable aquatic facility. Supervises pool patrons, enforces pool rules, performs first aid and emergency rescues, instructs swim lessons, performs cashiering duties, leads recreational activities; performs related and other work as required.

Staff may be expected to work weekends and on fixed holidays. Those who work on a City Holiday will earn 1 ½ times their base hourly salary.

This position is subject to random controlled substance testing and/or breath alcohol testing.

Exam Process:  Only a limited number of candidates, whose applications indicate that, among those competing, they are better qualified in terms of related experience, will be invited to participate in the recruitment process, which will consist of an oral interview (weighted 100%).

The Position:
This is complex lead level work involved in a central purchasing department related to the procurement of goods and services, including preparation of formal bid documents, facilitation of the activities of the bid process, selection of vendors, volume buying, inventory, assessing availability and quality of goods and services, and routine to complex procurements for the entire District according to prescribed methods. Public contact is extensive, primarily involving District and college staff at all levels, outside vendors, contractors, outside business representatives, other educational institutions, and external auditors for the purpose of exchanging product, procedural, timeline, and workflow information. A high degree of independent judgment and creativity are required to interpret policies and procedures, and to provide input into the resolution of frequent minor and occasional major problems that occur. Consequences of errors in judgment can be costly in terms of District resources, employee time and in public relations; however, supervisory controls limit the risk of serious errors. The Senior Buyer leads and trains student assistants as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties below are representative of the duties of the classification and are not intended to cover all of the duties performed by the incumbent(s) of any particular position. 1. Exchanges professional information with District and college staff, vendors, contractors, business representatives, as well as educational and government institutions regarding purchasing policies and procedures, assistance with vendor selections, pricing, shipping, returns, invoicing, bid timelines and item specifications
2. Develops and confirms product specifications and quality expectations and examines total cost of ownership
3. Develops and prepares bid specifications and RFP, RFQ, and RFB documents, analyzes bid results, and prepares reports related to the formal bidding process
4. Attends professional development related meetings, workshops and other events to stay current on public procurement code and District policies and procedures. Occasional mandatory participation in select professional development conferences requiring travel outside the Bay Area. Willingness to pursue professional certifications in the procurement field
5. Attends and conducts meetings and consults with College and District staff, vendors, and others to provide information about the bidding process, development of bid procedures, clarification of product specifications, finalization of contractual agreements, and collaboration on the resolution of problems
6. Administers and oversees administration of the procurement card program, including issuance and cancellation of cards and communications with cardholders and the bank
7. Administers and oversees administration of other District-wide procurement tools, such as reverse auctions, gas cards, or contract management software
8. Participates in and/or provides direction to staff on purchasing transactions requiring specialized technical knowledge or understating of specific commodities, materials, supplies, manufacturers, and District services
9. Analyzes and maintains inventory records and performs fiscal year close activities related to fixed assets and communicates with District external auditors on the fixed asset program
10. Administers surplus and records retention activities throughout the District, arranges for document shredding, and manages disposition of surplus through auctions and private sales

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a closely related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

• Possession of working knowledge of bidding, public contract code, and purchasing policies and procedures

Physical Requirements:

San Mateo County Health is seeking a well-qualified individuals for the position of Environmental Health Specialist IV - Consumer Protection Programs. Environmental Health Specialist will receive general supervision and provide lead direction in performing various countywide environmental health inspection and enforcement activities in one of the several specialized technical areas such as consumer protection, food sanitation, recreational water, water, sewage, land use, and cross connection control; vector control; solid waste; medical waste; and housing and institutions.

There is currently one regular vacancy that will function as a Food Plan Check Specialist within the Environmental Health Division Food and Pool Programs, located in San Mateo, but the position will include travel/driving throughout the county to perform duties of the job.

Environmental Health Services ensures a safe and healthful environment in the County's 20 cities and unincorporated areas through education, monitoring and enforcement of a variety of regulatory programs, as well as ongoing services to the community.

Duties within the Consumer Protection Programs include:

• Lead specialized programs within the Food and Pool Programs, such as Food and Pool Facilities Plan Review, Cottage Food Operations, Microenterprise Home Kitchen Operations (MEHKO), Temporary Food Events, Mobile Food Facilities, and Certified Farmers Markets.
• Lead quality assurance, quality control and standardization functions.
• Conduct compliance inspections of programs and projects within the Consumer Protection Programs as assigned.
• Lead or provide direction in the investigation of citizen complaints.
• Lead and implement special projects.
• Set program standards, coordinate activities with various County and City Departments, collaborate with California Conference of Directors of Environmental Health ad hoc committees and stakeholders.

DEFINITION
Under general direction, performs complex and responsible technical and clerical work for the Director of Human Resources and as administrative support to the City's Human Resources Department. Completes related work as required.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
An incumbent in this position is a Human Resources generalist performing a wide range of personnel assignments in administering and processing health and welfare benefits; managing the administrative duties associated with the Personnel Board and overseeing the preparation and management of all employee requisition and action forms; managing the office and providing administrative support to the Director of Human Resources, Assistant to the Director of Human Resources, Senior Management Analyst, the Human Resources Analyst(s) and Human Resources Specialist(s).

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Including but not limited to maintaining frequent, sensitive and critical contacts with public and private agencies, other departments, professionals and officials; transmits information, decisions and directives. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

THE POSITION

Under general supervision of a Police Sergeant, the Reserve Police Officer is a sworn position assigned to field operations to patrol for the prevention and detection of crime and enforcement of laws and regulations within the philosophy of community oriented policing.  Incumbents are normally expected to solve most work problems independently and to refer to supervisory personnel only those matters which involve policy decisions, technical questions and unusual problems at the entry level and make recommendations at the advanced level.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Enforces laws and regulations and apprehends law breakers
• Conducts crime investigations
• Patrols for the prevention and detection of crime and enforcement of laws and regulations
• Responds to radio messages or telephone instructions and investigates reported disorders or crimes
• Notes and reports complaints, accidents, offenses and damages to property
• Reports abandoned or damaged vehicles
• Directs traffic
• Makes arrests, issues citations and warnings
• Prepares reports on arrests and property impounded
• Inspects crime scenes and questions witnesses
• Analyzes clues and information related to criminal activities
• Reviews modus operandi of known criminals
• Reports on the progress of investigations and prepares assigned cases for court
• Serves warrants

• Administers first aid or CPR when appropriate
• Develops cooperative working relationships and mutual aid agreements with other local public safety representatives
• Develops and maintains partnership building with the residential and business community as well as the other working departments within the Town of Colma
• Adheres to department rules, regulations, orders and procedures
• Exhibits and encourages behavior that is consistent with the Town’s risk management program and decreases risk of accident or injury to self, employees, residents, visitors and their property
• Performs other related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

• Modern office technology

Woodside Fire Protection District has an exciting opportunity to join our Fire Prevention Department.

Under the supervision of the Fire Marshal or their designee, the Wildfire Defensible Space Inspector (Per Diem/Part- Time) supports wildfire prevention efforts across the District. This position is seasonal and ideal for those interested in public service, environmental safety, or fire prevention.

This part-time, per diem role is responsible for inspecting properties to ensure compliance with wildfire prevention and fuel mitigation requirements. You'll engage with residents, educate the public, and help reduce wildfire risk across the District.

Position Summary

This position demands a wide range of technical skills. Under the direction of the Communications Electronics Supervisor, this position provides technical support for the communications, access control, video and electronics control system in place throughout the District. The Communications Electronics Technician installs, maintains, test and repairs electronics communications system located at various District facilities from San Francisco to Santa Rosa. These include, but is not limited to, P25 trunked radio system, microwave equipment, video cameras and management system, access control system, programmable logic controllers, fiber optics and network communications equipment. The position is also involved in the installation and maintenance of communication and fiber optic cabling systems. 

 

Essential Responsibilities

• Installs and maintains the following: P25 trunked radio system, access control system, video management system, programmable logic controllers and associated controls, microwave equipment, public address systems, telephone lines and fiber optic cables
• Installs, tests, and maintains electronic and two-way radio equipment in Buses, Ferries, District vehicles and facilities, and radio sites
• Setups and services access control system, including card readers, electromechanical locks, gate controllers and associated software
• Installs and maintains video surveillance system, including cameras, servers and management software
• Installs and maintains different computer aided equipment such as radio dispatch consoles, access control monitoring, video management system, & distributed control system for PLC
• Tests, troubleshoots and repairs fiber optic using OTDR and splice equipment
• Installs, configures and maintains servers, database and network equipment such as routers and switches
• Performs regular, preventive maintenance and documents system and equipment repairs, modifications and changes
• Assists in the design, fabrication and modification of electronics communications equipment
• Updates and corrects manufacturers' documentation to increase maintenance and repair efficiency
• Knows and follows the safety and health rules and safe working practices applicable job
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with District employees, customers, vendors and all others contacted during the course of work using principles of excellent customer service.

TOWN MANAGER - TOWN OF LOOMIS

The Town Council of the Town of Loomis, California (population 6,800) is seeking an energetic and engaging individual with a commitment to public service to become its new Town Manager. The Town Manager directs, coordinates, and manages the overall administrative   activities and operations of the Town and advises and assists the Town Council while exercising significant independent judgment and initiative. In this smaller-sized entity, the Town Manager will need to be comfortable with a hands-on and collaborative approach to day-to-day  management. This will include providing strong leadership and frequent interaction with the small team (Finance, Community Development, Engineering and Public Works), fostering a    collaborative, open dialogue, and teamwork.
