Do you enjoy working outdoors and providing excellent customer service? Join our team as a Parks Services Officer Aide! This part-time role offers an opportunity to work in beautiful outdoor settings, assist park visitors, and support the maintenance and operations of our parks.
As a Park Services Officer Aide, you will:
- Drive to different park locations and assist in the daily operations and maintenance of park facilities and grounds.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents of vandalism, and other related conditions.
- Provide exceptional customer service to park visitors, answering questions, providing information, and first aid to ill or injured visitors.
- Tactfully and effectively enforce park rules, issue warnings and citations.
- Participate in various park programs and events.
- Perform routine tasks such as litter collection, restroom cleaning, weeding, watering and trail maintenance.
- Learn and apply new skills related to park operations and maintenance.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate loves working outdoors in various weather conditions, possesses strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor, is flexible and willing to learn new tasks and skills, and can work independently and as part of a team. Basic knowledge of park operations and maintenance is a plus but not required.
Work Schedule: This is a 20-24-hour per week position. The regular work schedule is Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; weekend work may be occasionally required. This position is limited to up to 1000 hours per year. However, employment might end sooner, depending on the needs of the hiring department. Extra-help positions are paid hourly and are not guaranteed permanent status at the end of the extra-help assignment.
