The City of San Rafael Library and Recreation Department is now accepting applications for the position of Facilities Attendant (Athletic Fields).    This position is responsible for supervision of athletic fields during assigned work hours while providing a positive and welcoming presence at the park.  The Facilities Attendant serves as an ambassador to park visitors, ensuring renters have access to their permitted spaces, unlocking soccer goals as needed, and promoting responsible use of the facility.  The Facilities Attendant also positively enforces park and field rules, encourages users to clean up after themselves, and helps to maintain a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all.  Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.

Qualifications:

• Ability to provide good customer service 
• Ability to communicate effectively 
• Ability to follow written and oral directions.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

About the Position: The Fleet Services Specialist will oversee the full cycle of our vehicle and equipment fleet, from budgeting and acquisition to maintenance, compliance, and replacement.  This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe, reliable, and sustainable fleet operations by managing contracts, developing specifications, coordinating repairs, and leading asset management strategies.  The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in fleet and equipment maintenance, proven experience with budgeting and program administration, skilled at ensuring regulatory compliance, and the ability to evaluate fleet needs and recommend cost effective solutions.

Equivalent to an associate degree in fleet management, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field and four (4) years of full-time experience in administration of a fleet or equipment maintenance program or facility, including at least one year at a lead or supervisory level.

Work Environment:  This full time position is part of the Facilities & Fleet Department at Midpen’s Administrative Office in Los Altos, California. Midpen offers a hybrid office/telecommute work schedule for this position following successful onboarding, and may be eligible for a 9/80 schedule.  To meet service needs, three days of working on-site is required per week – set days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the office. The Fleet Services Specialist will often meet with Midpen staff in the district field offices.  Employees may work in the field and occasionally be exposed to loud noise levels, cold and hot temperatures, inclement weather conditions, or road hazards. Must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

As a Maintenance Worker II in our Streets Division, you will help keep Mill Valley’s streets and infrastructure safe, functional, and looking their best. Working under general supervision, you will take on a range of skilled and hands-on tasks including paving, concrete work, storm drain cleaning, and street repair.

Course Instructors have the opportunity plan curriculum in your area of expertise and share that knowledge with a class size of 5-15 students. We need instructors for all types of programs and classes at the Community Center, with a focus on adult/senior education. We are looking for instructors with skill levels able to teach their craft to others with multiple years of experience. WORK ENVIRONMENT

Meetings may be held in Los Altos or offsite.  This position is part of the General Manager’s office at Midpen’s office in Los Altos, California. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade supplemented by two (2) years of college-level coursework in business or secretarial science and

• Maintains parks and landscaped areas in a clean and safe condition, including picking up trash and maintaining trash receptacles; cleaning and maintaining restrooms.

• Operates and maintains a variety of light, medium, and heavy equipment and hand and power tools related to the maintenance and repair of City parks and related facilities.

• Observes safe work methods and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment as required

• Maintains public facilities, shop and garage areas, storage sites, and other work areas in a clean and orderly condition, including securing equipment at the close of the workday.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Benefits Overview:

Retirement:  The City is a part of the CalPERS retirement plan and does not contribute to Social Security. Sick Leave: 96 hours of sick leave per year.

About the Position:  Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen) is seeking an Information Systems & Technology (IST) Intern in the Information Systems & Technology Department. The IST Intern will be exposed to government information technology and will receive on-going support and training while working collaboratively and establishing and maintaining open communication with all District Staff. They will gain applicable experience to prepare them for an IT Technician job. This intern will also participate in new cybersecurity projects, software integration and provide hands-on helpdesk support in a hybrid work environment.

Duties and responsibilities of the IST intern may include: responding to daily IT help-desk requests; engaging in proactive problem solving and repairing of IT related equipment and systems; assisting in modifying and maintaining existing applications such as but not limited to Windows 10/11 and Office365 applications; supporting, performing research, and executing IT projects as assigned; and providing user support for software applications and technical expertise to all staff regarding the District’s computer network system. The expected start date for this position is in early December 2025.

Basic Requirements:   Internships are open to applications from current students or recent graduates (within the last 12 months). Current enrollment in an associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree program, or trade school in a relevant field. Successful candidates will have the following education and/or experience: general understanding of network infrastructure and services such as switches, DHCP, file sharing, and Active Directory/LDAP;  understanding of Microsoft products such as Windows Client/Server and Office365; and minimum two years of college or pursuing a two or four-year degree from an accredited college, university, or technical school with major course work in computer science, information technology, MIS, telecommunications, or related field. Working Conditions:  The selected individual may sit for prolonged periods of time; involves in person and virtual interaction with District staff; use of a computer; ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds of equipment; and may drive a District vehicle. This position will report on-site to the IST Department at Midpen offices in Los Altos, California and will also drive to the various Midpen field offices; Foothills Field Office (Cupertino), Skyline Field Office (La Honda), South Area Office (Campbell), and Coastal Area Outpost (La Honda). This is a temporary position working 24-32 hours per week (within regular business days/hours). Regular business is conducted Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Interns may work up to a total of 950 hours over a 7-to-9-month period. This is a non-benefited position.
