The City of Redwood City Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department invites you to apply for the casual position of Human Services Assistant at the Fair Oaks Community Center (FOCC). FOCC is a multi-service agency that offers a variety of programs and services provided by City staff and non-profit and public agency partners. This position provides a variety of administrative and operational support functions while also providing customer service to customers of all ages and backgrounds. In particular, the Human Services Assistant will support the Information and Referral/Emergency Services Program that provides vital safety net, homelessness intervention, and homelessness prevention services to low-income families, single parents, seniors, disabled persons, persons experiencing homelessness, and individuals seeking assistance in meeting their basic needs and strengthening their economic self-sufficiency.

This is a non-benefited, casual (temporary) position, scheduled to work flexibly, 10-20 hours per week.

Camp Newark is seeking a confident, creative, and organized leader to serve as an Activity Coordinator for our dynamic summer camp program. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in high-energy environments and are passionate about creating meaningful experiences for youth ages 6–11. 

The Activity Coordinator plays a key leadership role in planning and delivering engaging daily programming while supporting and supervising camp staff. This position requires strong communication, organization, and leadership skills, along with the ability to create a fun, structured, and safe camp environment. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Create, schedule, and implement creative camp activities for youth ages 6–11, including arts and crafts, sports, games, and STEM-based enrichment. 

• Lead, mentor, and evaluate camp counselors, including training and delegating responsibilities. 

• Coordinate daily camp schedules, special events, and field trips. 

• Maintain clear and professional communication with parents regarding camper experiences and program information. 

• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all participants. 

• Support overall camp operations and assist with problem-solving as needed. 

This position requires working both indoors and outdoors in a fast-paced summer camp setting. 

WORK SCHEDULE 

Summer-only position (June – August) 

Monday–Friday 

30–35 hours per week

The City of Menlo Park is hiring Recreation Specialists to support City-operated Summer Camp programs serving children ages 4.5 through 13 years old for programs running June 15th through August 14th, 2026.

Under general supervision, Recreation Specialists provide direct supervision of participants and assist with age-appropriate recreational, enrichment, and physical activities in compliance with California Community Care Licensing (Title 22) requirements and City policies. This position requires active engagement with children, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to maintain required staff-to-child ratios.

This is an hourly, at-will, part-time (non-benefited) position offering paid training and valuable experience in youth development and public service.

The City of Woodland seeks a motivated public servant to join the City Manager's Office – Environmental Services Division as our Water Conservation Analyst Fellow. The Water Conservation Analyst will support key sustainability efforts by conducting a comprehensive analysis of municipal water usage and the City's response to leaks/over usage across public facilities. The Fellow will analyze five years of historical water consumption data to identify trends, anomalies, inefficiencies, and high-risk locations for water loss. A key focus of the project will be evaluating how the City currently tracks leaks and over-usage, how alerts are generated and routed, and how staff respond to those alerts. The Fellow will propose recommendations to improve leak detection, streamline response protocols, strengthen reporting systems, and reduce water waste supporting long-term water conservation goals.

The Ideal Candidate will be interested in sustainability, municipal operations and public policy. The Civic Fellow will assist in updating and maintaining the City’s fleet management system, ensuring accurate records for vehicle assets, reserve fund balances, and fixed and variable rate information. Working closely with Public Works and Finance staff, the Fellow will help develop streamlined data management processes within the RTA fleet management software, improving operational efficiency and reporting accuracy.

This fellowship provides practical exposure to fleet asset tracking, financial record-keeping, and interdepartmental collaboration, equipping participants with valuable skills in data management, system implementation, and public sector operations setting the foundation for an exciting career in municipal government.

This individual is proficient with computer software systems, including spreadsheets and data tracking tools, and demonstrates the ability to efficiently organize, analyze, and maintain electronic records. The fellows will work on-stie at WCC and receive day-to-day guidance and supervision from WCC staff while remaining part of the fellowship cohort and participating in program-wide activities.

Typical work hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday; and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, up to 40 hours per week.

 

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Community College Education Policy and Programs Coordinator will support the implementation of Woodland Community College’s new Strategic Plan, with a focus on capacity building, student success, and socioeconomic mobility.

Housed within the Student Services Department, the Coordinator will advance strategic initiatives designed to strengthen student support systems, improve program coordination, and enhance outcomes for disproportionately impacted student populations.

The Fellow will work on a portfolio of projects and related events that may include:

• Analyzing student services data (retention, persistence, completion, utilization of support programs) to identify equity gaps and opportunities for improvement

• Research best practices related to student support programs (e.g., advising, basic needs, financial aid outreach, career services, transfer services)

• Supporting cross-departmental coordination efforts to align student services with strategic plan priorities

• Assisting in the design and implementation of new or redesigned initiatives that promote student success and socioeconomic mobility

• Supporting strategic plan events, stakeholder engagement efforts, and community partnerships

• Develop reports, presentations, training materials, and guides to support students

• Documenting processes and building tools to strengthen institutional capacity within Student Services

A key focus of the role will be translating strategic goals into actionable program improvements that enhance student access, persistence, completion, and post-college outcomes.

The City of Woodland is seeking a motivated, resourceful self-starter to join the Community Development Planning team in a dynamic fellowship role that bridges municipal planning and historic preservation. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in core planning functions while contributing meaningfully to the preservation and celebration of the City’s historic character.

In this role, the Fellow will serve as a key point of contact for residents, property owners, and community stakeholders seeking information on general planning inquiries, zoning standards, and land use regulations. The position provides practical exposure to municipal planning processes, including development review, interpretation of zoning codes, and customer service within a public-sector framework.

A central component of the fellowship will be leading a comprehensive revamp of the City’s historic preservation education and outreach efforts. This includes researching and developing accessible educational materials, enhancing digital resources, and expanding community awareness of preservation programs and incentives. The Fellow will gain experience working with state and federal historic preservation documentation requirements and processes, strengthening their understanding of regulatory compliance and cultural resource management.
