The City of Simi Valley is seeking dependable local individuals to serve as Crossing Guards! This is an excellent opportunity for community‑minded residents who want to support public safety and play a vital role in protecting our schoolchildren.

                                    POSITION DETAILS:

• Salary Rate: $16.90 hourly
• Temporary, Part-Time Position
• Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (10 hours/week average)

                             MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Any combination of education and experience, which would provide the necessary knowledge and abilities, along with the following special requirements:

Education/Training:

• Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.

Experience:

• Some experience working with children is desirable.

License or Certificate:

• Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver’s license.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, appropriate, valid first aid and C.P.R. Certificates.
  • Must possess good hearing ability across a frequency range from 500 Hz to 3,000 Hz. Hearing levels meeting these requirements in the better ear, either with or without a hearing aid, will be acceptable. If an individual meets the criteria by using a hearing aid, then he/she must wear that hearing aid and have a spare power source for the hearing aid.
  • Must possess corrected vision of20/40 minimum, with no color blindness.
  • A medical examination may be required before appointment and as a condition of continuing employment with the City.
