The Role:

The City of Redwood City is seeking Firefighter Trainees who, under immediate supervision, actively participate in the Firefighter Academy training program. Trainees perform all related learning and testing activities in preparation for the Firefighter/Engineer classification within the Fire Department of the City of Redwood City.  See Firefighter Trainee job description for more details. • Project: The intern will have the opportunity to select a hands-on community-based project track in either visual arts or performing arts. 
• Mentorship & Experience: This position will be able to collaborate with staff, engage with community members, and gain real work insight into careers in the arts. 

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (may include but are not limited to the following):

• Assisting with general office duties related to arts programming, including organizing files, organizing artist databases, preparing materials, emails, and phone calls.
• Conducting fieldwork and research related to public art.
• Creating and managing social media content and scheduling to promote arts initiatives. 
• Supporting community outreach efforts through special event participation, flyer creation and distribution, and in-person engagement.
• Practicing professional communication such as communicating with local businesses and community members to help build connections and promote the City’s cultural art initiatives.
•  Developing and distribution of surveys to gather public input and feedback for arts programs.
•  Contributing creative ideas to enhance public engagement and support the City’s Cultural Arts Program initiatives.

The Role:

The City of Redwood City is seeking Firefighter/Engineers who are licensed paramedics. The Bilingual Spanish Psychiatric Social Worker / Marriage and Family Therapists will provide specialized psychiatric assessment, brief treatment, and clinical case management services for adult clients with Severe Mental Illness. Principal duties will include mental health and substance use assessment and treatment; engaging clients to services; consultation with providers; and linkage/referrals to other community providers. The main role of this position will be working within a dynamic multi-disciplinary team to provide specialized psychiatric casework and care coordination, provide individual and group psychotherapy, case management, and refer clients to Private Provider Network and/or community agencies for additional services.

Preschool Aide

The City of Burlingame is looking for a passionate, caring, and creative Preschool Aide. Under the direction of a Recreation Supervisor, the Preschool Aide supports the lead teacher in providing a nurturing and educational environment for young children. This includes helping with classroom activities, supervising children, and ensuring a safe and clean learning environment.

Essential Duties

• Assist in implementing activities that support early childhood education and socialization.
• Assist with a variety of activities including, but not limited to, arts and crafts, organized games, story time, music/singing activities, science, cooking, early writing skills, and interactive circle time.
• Ensure proper safety precautions are observed.
• Maintain and care for supplies, equipment, and the facility.
• Set up daily snack.
• Change diapers and support toilet training.
• Complete assigned paperwork, including timecards and incident and accident reports.
• Communicate with parents and staff to disseminate information and build positive relationships.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children.
• Early Childhood Education units a plus.

Class Times:

• Lil Sprouts: Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 9am-11:30pm (2 year olds)
• Lil’ Sprouts: Tuesday/Thursday: 9:00am-11:30am (2 year olds)
• Cottage Kids: Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 8:45am-12:15pm (3 year olds)
• Cottage Kids: Tuesday/Thursday: 8:45am-12:15pm (3 year olds)
• Afternoon Owls: Tuesday/Thursday: 12:30pm-3:30pm (3 year olds)

Summer Camp (June 9-August 8)

• Monday- Friday: 9am-12pm (3-4 year olds)

• 8-20 Hours a week       
• Maximum of 960 hours per fiscal year  

Benefits: Healthy Workplaces/Healthy Families Act of 2014 Paid Sick Leave Benefit. This benefit accrues at the rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked to a maximum benefit of 24 hours per year. There is no cash value associated with the benefit. No other benefits are offered. This position is at will and is not part of the City's Civil Service System. There is no guarantee of hours and employment may end at any time. 

Salary: $23.27-$28.82 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
