Village Park Preschool is a play-based preschool program offered by the City of Burlingame Parks and Recreation Department at Village Park. We offer 3 programs: Lil’ Sprouts (2 year olds), Cottage Kids (3 year olds), and Afternoon Owls (3 year olds).  The emphasis of the program is physical, social, and emotional growth in a child-centered environment. Activities are designed to foster a healthy child that develops an early love of learning. Village Park Preschool programs strive to create an environment inspiring each child’s individual creativity and self-expression. Children participate in arts/crafts, music, body movement, basic science, cognitive games, creative/dramatic play, cooking, circle and story time, fine and gross motor skill building, and phonics awareness.

Preschool Aide

The City of Burlingame is looking for a passionate, caring, and creative Preschool Aide. Under the direction of a Recreation Supervisor, the Preschool Aide supports the lead teacher in providing a nurturing and educational environment for young children. This includes helping with classroom activities, supervising children, and ensuring a safe and clean learning environment.

Essential Duties

• Assist in implementing activities that support early childhood education and socialization.
• Assist with a variety of activities including, but not limited to, arts and crafts, organized games, story time, music/singing activities, science, cooking, early writing skills, and interactive circle time.
• Ensure proper safety precautions are observed.
• Maintain and care for supplies, equipment, and the facility.
• Set up daily snack.
• Change diapers and support toilet training.
• Complete assigned paperwork, including timecards and incident and accident reports.
• Communicate with parents and staff to disseminate information and build positive relationships.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Benefits: Healthy Workplaces/Healthy Families Act of 2014 Paid Sick Leave Benefit. This benefit accrues at the rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked to a maximum benefit of 24 hours per year. The Redwood City Police Department is currently accepting applications for Per-Diem COMMUNICATIONS DISPATCHERS.  Using a sophisticated Computer Aided Dispatch terminal, the Communications Dispatcher receives emergency calls from within the public requesting police, fire, medical, or other emergency service; determine priority, and dispatch police, fire, ambulance, or other emergency units as necessary and in accordance with established procedures. Position: Landscape Maintenance Worker

The City of Redwood City seeks a Landscape Maintenance Worker who will assist in the maintenance of parks and landscaped areas.  Under supervision, the incumbent will operate a variety of landscape maintenance equipment and will perform the following duties:

• Perform a wide variety of general grounds and facility maintenance work including raking leaves, cleaning walkways, removing debris, cleaning restrooms, and related work.
• Water, weed, prune, renovate, and fertilize shrubs, trees, flowerbeds, and landscaped areas.
• Complete turf care including mowing, thatching, fertilizing, plugging, spraying, and installation of new turf areas with both seed and sod.
• Prepare soil and plant flowerbeds, shrubs, trees and landscape areas, including staking, fertilizing and other necessary procedures.
• Utilize a wide variety of hand and power tools and landscape maintenance equipment including a rotary gang mower tractor, rider mowers, tractors, trencher, sprayer, brush chipper and chainsaws.
• Move and install park and recreation equipment. Perform routine preventive maintenance on mowing equipment and hand and power tools used in the work.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

The incumbent may be required to work on weekends.

This is a non-benefited casual position.  A casual employee may not work more than 1000 hours per fiscal year.

SUMMER AQUATIC STAFF POSITIONS

The Town of Danville strives to provide an aquatic environment that is safe, instructive and fun through recreational and lap swim, special events, the Learn to Swim program, Junior Lifeguard program and Lifeguard training classes.

PROGRAM LEADER (SWIM INSTRUCTOR/LIFEGUARD)

Salary Range: $17.37 to $23.15/hour

QUALIFICATIONS  
Applicants must be at least 15 years of age.  Required certifications by the end of Staff Training Week:  American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid (Lifeguard).  

Aquatics staff members generally work 3-5 hours per day, in morning, afternoon, or evening shifts at San Ramon Valley High School or Monte Vista Pools.  Most staff members will work an average of 15-20 hours per week, up to a maximum of 37.5 hours per week. 

SUPERVISION 
Under the general supervision of the Pool Managers, Program Coordinator and Program Supervisor, the Swim Instructor/Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring aquatic safety and providing instruction for pool patrons.  Swim Instructors/Lifeguards must enjoy working with children and the general public, be patient, reliable and have lots of energy.  

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Under direction of a Recreation Supervisor, the Preschool Site Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Village Park Preschool ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. • Program Oversite

The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Aquatics Specialist II in the Parks, Recreation and Waterfront Department! In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide instruction in swim and serve as a lifeguard at assigned swimming facilities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is:

San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS), Child and Youth Services https://www.smchealth.org/bhrs, provides a broad spectrum of Trauma Informed mental health and substance use services for children, youth, and families focusing on prevention, early intervention, and treatment of youth diagnosed as Severely Emotionally Disturbed (SED) and/or substance use disorders.
