The Department: 

The Department of Public Works (DPW) constructs, maintains and improves various components of the City’s infrastructure providing quality, cost-effective, and timely services for the residents and businesses of Santa Clara. This also includes support of other City Departments providing services to the community.  DPW support includes managing more than 750 fleet assets essential in delivering quality public safety, power, water, sewer, parks, and streets maintenance services to the City.

The Position: 

This classification is the entry level of the City's Automotive Technician series and reports to the Public Works Supervisor, Automotive Technician II/III, or higher-level classification as assigned.  Incumbents in this classification perform routine safety and preventative maintenance inspections of motorized vehicles and equipment.

The City of Santa Clara is recruiting for a Development Project Manager (Economic Development). The Development Project Manager (Economic Development) is a management position in the unclassified service, responsible for the management and administration of economic development and development actions including agreements and all lease related entitlements, permits, construction, financial components, retention of existing businesses and attraction of new businesses to the City, reducing commercial vacancies, and supporting revenue generation activities for the City. The Position:

This is a temporary, as-needed position assigned to the City of Santa Clara’s Electric Utility Department, Silicon Valley Power (SVP). The position is part of the Systems Support Group (SSG), which functions as the technology backbone of SVP and is responsible for critical technology modernization, cybersecurity, and operational support in response to rapid utility growth and evolving regulatory requirements.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and support both enterprise and utility-specific network infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Cisco technologies. The incumbent plays a critical role in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of the organization’s overall network environment, including the SVP’s utility communication and control systems.
 
In this role, the Network Administrator is responsible for administering and monitoring network services, managing a variety of advanced network and security products—including, but not limited to, Cisco firewalls and intrusion prevention systems- and maintaining compliance with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) requirements as well as applicable state and local mandates. Typical Duties:

Network: Design, configure, deploy, and maintain secure enterprise-grade network infrastructure, including routers, switches, wireless controllers, and access points within a large and complex high-availability multi-protocol environment.

Network Security: Design, configure, deploy, and maintain, including but not limited to firewalls, VPNs, IPS systems, and zero-trust platforms, in a highly segmented environment.

VOIP: Support VoIP infrastructure to ensure QoS, call quality, and reliability.

• Serve as a vital liaison between the City Attorney’s Office and various City departments, facilitating the accurate and timely flow of information.
• Conduct fact investigations and perform foundational legal research to support casework.

The Department: 

The Purchasing Division of the Department of Finance is hiring a Materials Handler for its Utility Warehouse. The department is looking for experience related to warehouse materials management and receiving deliveries with an emphasis in computerized inventory management system.

 

The Position: 

The Materials Handler is an entry-level position at the purchasing warehouse or the electric utility warehouse.  Under general supervision, this position is responsible for receiving, storing, shipping, and distributing materials, equipment and products to City staff.
