A Lateral Candidate must:
a) Be currently an active police officer.
b) Possess a California Basic POST Course Certificate. A copy of your certificate with your application is required in order for you to continue with the process.
c) Have at least 3 years equivalent of CA Law Enforcement experience to patrol services with a municipality.
d) Attach a résumé to your application packet.

The Position: Police Officers perform law enforcement and crime prevention work; control traffic flow and enforce state and local regulations; perform investigative work; participate in and provide support and assistance to special department crime prevention and enforcement programs and do related police work as assigned. Duties and hours will vary with assignments.
