The Position: Under general supervision, this position involves organizing, leading, and coordinating a variety of indoor and outdoor recreational and educational activities for an Afterschool Program. This role is classified as Temporary Part-Time to support both seasonal and year-round recreational programs.

On April 29, 2025, Suisun City Council approved a new contract between the Suisun City RPM Department and the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District (FSUSD). This agreement expands after school programming to include to grades TK-5 at Dan O. Root Elementary and Crescent Elementary Schools, making the Suisun City RPM Department the sole provider of after school services at both locations. • Conducts initial and follow-up investigations at scenes of incidents to which summoned or observed; determines what, if any, crime has been committed; collects, preserves, processes, photographs, and books evidence; locates and interviews victims and witnesses; identifies and interrogates suspects. • Prepares and serves search and arrest warrants; apprehends and arrests offenders for crimes committed under federal, state, and local laws and codes; controls and mitigates people under the influence of drugs or alcohol or other potentially hostile situations.
• Directs traffic at special events or emergency situations; provides traffic and crowd control at community and emergency events.

THE POSITION

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Any combination equivalent to experience and education that demonstrates possession of the requisite knowledge, skill, and abilities.  A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skill and ability outlined  in the job spec is:  

• Completion of 15 units in Early Childhood Education, Recreation Administration, or related coursework, AND 
• At least three (3) years of teaching experience in a child care center or comparable group child care program.
• An Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education, Recreation Administration, or related field may substitute for one year of experience.
• A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Recreation Administration, or related field may substitute for two years of experience.

Definition

Class Characteristics 

Code Enforcement Officer I: This is the entry-level classification in the Code Enforcement Officer series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform routine and less complex assignments, while learning City policies and procedures. As experience is gained, assignments become more varied, complex, and difficult; there is greater independence and less supervision within the established guidelines. Positions at this level usually perform most of the duties required of the Code Enforcement Officer II – level but are not expected to function at the same skill level and usually exercise less independent discretion and judgement in matters related to work procedures and methods. Work is usually supervised while in progress and fits an established structure or pattern. Exceptions or changes in procedures are explained in detail as they arise. Code Enforcement Officer II: This is the journey-level classification in the Code Enforcement Officer series. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit.

Examples of Duties: Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Receives and responds to complaints regarding violations of zoning, housing, dangerous building and property maintenance codes, abandoned or inoperative vehicles, debris, unsanitary conditions, overgrown vegetation, signage, and other municipal code violations.
• Investigates possible violations, photographs evidence, and communicates with responsible persons via telephone, in person, or in writing; interprets codes and regulations and explains inspection procedures and regulations to involved parties.

MAINTENANCE WORKER (Full time)

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
