The City of Redwood City invites you to apply for the position of Senior Civil Engineer.  The Senior Civil Engineer performs complicated engineering, planning, design, and review activities and exercises lead supervision over others as assigned.  The work, projects, and systems assigned may involve managements of park field and facilities improvements, building facilities improvements, land development reviews & approvals, right-of-way permit process, roads and utilities improvements, transportation & traffic planning and improvements, and/or building construction. ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

The Department of Community Development is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Management Fellow. ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Redwood City, Community Development Department is seeking a value-driven team player to join the Department. Through mentorship and under general supervision, the Fellow will assist in coordinating and managing specific projects to completion in the areas of budgeting, planning, community engagement, procurement, and legislative policy, especially related to the Planning and Building Divisions in Community Development.

Some of the various projects and responsibilities may include:

• Performing policy research and analysis, identifying relevant legislation, and developing recommendation positions as related to Planning and Building policy

Qualifications:

This position requires the ability to work independently while receiving direction from a supervisor, as well as the capacity to train, oversee, and collaborate effectively with volunteers and older adults. Upon hire, the candidate must successfully obtain a State Food Handler Safety Certificate and pass all required background checks. Recreation Program Specialist Example Duties:

• Follow reservation protocol/procedure for patrons.
• Review menu provided by caterer, submit nutritional component breakdown to County for grant compliance, and prepare flyers for patron.
• Submit documentation/information associated with County nutrition grant to supervisor.
• Schedule and implement nutritional education for seniors and in-service training for staff and volunteers.
• Serve as liaison with caterer, grant provider and staff/volunteers.
• Implement food safety practices as outlined by the Health Department.
• Prior nutrition experience is desired, but not required. Training will be provided.

As a member of the Administrative Services team, the incumbent will plan, develop and implement activities related to the support, deployment, operation and usage of the City’s geographic information system (GIS). This position will coordinate projects related to management of interfaces, applications setup, business process review and customization and provide complex and responsible technical and analytical support to the Information Technology Manager in areas of expertise.

The Department:

The Santa Clara City Library is a department of the City and has positioned itself as a dynamic community hub, providing access to information, literacy resources, educational programming, and promotes civic engagement in Santa Clara. The Library Department is organized into seven divisions: Administration, Adult Services, Branch Services, Customer Services, Facilities, Technical and Technology Services and Youth Services. Santa Clara City Library is in the process of finalizing and implementing its new Strategic Plan that will support the direction of future library services.

The Position:

This is the entry-level class within the literacy series responsible for helping raise community awareness of the library’s adult and family literacy services. The Literacy Advocate does community outreach, facilitates information meetings for new learners and volunteers and supports the involvement of adult learners in the Read Santa Clara program, connecting them to helpful library and community resources.  Read Santa Clara is the adult and family literacy program of the Santa Clara City Library. 

The position being filled is a 0.5 FTE position. Benefits for this position will be prorated to a half-time position. The annual salary range for this position is $34,966.38 - $44,692.20, this is a prorated amount. This position may be filled at or near the minimum of the salary range.

DEFINITION
Under general direction, performs complex and responsible technical and clerical work for the Director of Human Resources and as administrative support to the City's Human Resources Department. Completes related work as required.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
An incumbent in this position is a Human Resources generalist performing a wide range of personnel assignments in administering and processing health and welfare benefits; managing the administrative duties associated with the Personnel Board and overseeing the preparation and management of all employee requisition and action forms; managing the office and providing administrative support to the Director of Human Resources, Assistant to the Director of Human Resources, Senior Management Analyst, the Human Resources Analyst(s) and Human Resources Specialist(s).

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Administers the documentation requirements of the 1986 Immigration and Control Act. Prepares and processes required Human Resources’ forms, such as new employee forms and employee Action Forms. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

The Department

The South San Francisco Fire Department provides its residents with service in fire suppression; first-responder and ambulance transport emergency medical services; hazardous materials response; urban search and rescue; marine rescue and fire prevention, investigation and public education. The Department operates five (5) fire stations throughout the City, plus an Emergency Operations Center and Fire Training Tower and is comprised of 92 dedicated staff members.

The Position

• Under general supervision, engages in medical aid treatment and transport activities to protect life.
• Drives, operates, and maintains all assigned department apparatus and equipment.
• Assists and participates in training programs; public education.
• Accurately completes electronic patient care reports, physician certification statements, and incident reports.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (may include but are not limited to the following):

• Mobility to work in both emergency and non-emergency settings.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 110 lbs.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle under both emergency and non-emergency conditions.
• Strength and stamina to perform service duties.

Training: Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Possession of a valid EMT or National Registry Certification, and the ability to be certified by San Mateo County EMS Agency.
• Must possess a valid CPR “Healthcare Provider” card, American Heart Association or equivalent.
