Currently we have one Full-time Regular vacancy for a Spanish Speaking Psychiatric Social Worker or Marriage and Family Therapist in Daly City. Experienced clinicians and those looking to gain experience are encouraged to apply.

The outpatient clinician will provide specialty outpatient mental health services to adults living in the Northern regions of San Mateo County. The target population are adults 18 years of age and older presenting with a serious mental illness and severe functional impairments. Principal duties will include assessment and diagnosis, care coordination, case management, group and individual psychotherapy, crisis intervention and rehabilitation services. The Clinician will provide treatment in an outpatient clinic setting.

The ideal candidates will possess: 

• A current license as either a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Marriage and Family Therapist;
• Solid clinical treatment, assessment, diagnostic and evaluation skills;
• Knowledge of principles, techniques and trends in counseling, psychotherapy, clinical case management, crisis management and various treatment modalities;
• Experience/interest in providing treatment for adults with serious mental illness;
• Experience/interest in delivering services to adults who have co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders;
• Experience/interest in delivering services in specialty areas for adults and older adults and/or transitional age youth;
• Excellent documentation skills: progress notes, assessments, client care plans, etc.;
• Demonstrated expertise, skill and interest in working with a broad range of clients of diverse cultures and backgrounds, such as Latino, Pacific Islander, African American, and LGBTQ, and an ability to provide culturally appropriate and proficient services;
• Skill in establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with families, co-workers, other professionals, collaborative partners and the public;
• Extensive knowledge of/interest in learning the available community resources within the County of San Mateo and its neighboring counties;
• Experience/interest in using electronic health/medical record systems (e.g. AVATAR, SOARIAN)
• Fluency in any of the threshold languages: Spanish, Tagalog, Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin) or Russian; and experience providing clinical services using bilingual skills.

Licensure/Certification

Psychiatric Social Worker I: Registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Clinical Social Worker. An individual hired in this classification must become licensed within six years from the date of original registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker issued by the State of California.

Psychiatric Social Worker II: Current California license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Marriage & Family Therapist I: Registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. An individual hired in this classification must become licensed within six years from the original date of registration employment as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist issued by the State of California.

Marriage & Family Therapist II: Current California license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

We are seeking two clinic managers who will operate under the general direction of the Deputy Director of Ambulatory Care. The clinic managers plan, coordinate, direct, manage, supervise and evaluate the full range of programs and services offered at the community-based health clinics; recommend, develop, implement and evaluate goals, objectives, policies and procedures related to clinics; provide leadership and coordination to community groups, public and private agencies, advisory boards and volunteers in planning and implementing clinic services; and provide highly complex staff support to senior-level management. The clinic managers also lead and participate in complex performance improvement activities; develop systems to track the progress of strategic initiatives, departmental operational goals, and communicate progress in key forums; develop productive relationships with labor partners while navigating operational needs and developing and sustaining effective employee engagement processes. The clinic managers exercise direct and indirect supervision over a diversified clinical and support staff team.

The ideal candidates will have working knowledge of clinic operations, particularly in outpatient clinics that offer primary care, adolescent care, and pediatrics, as well as in budgeting and scheduling. The ideal candidates will also be experienced in change management, improving patient satisfaction scores, and continuous process improvement (Lean). Examples Of Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Plan, direct, monitor, coordinate and evaluate the operations and service delivery programs of a regional health clinic or clinics, including needs assessment, program design and planning, implementation, evaluation, and regulatory enforcement.

• Direct, coordinate, and participate in the development and implementation of program goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and priorities that balance both mandated services and community health care needs.

• Assess the quality of patient care; develop and generate community support for changes or enhancements to service delivery methods; advocate for patients with medical staff to ensure appropriate care is provided.

• Monitor census/patient flow and project future patient care demands; develop staffing schedules and assignments to provide the necessary level and type of care.

• Develop, present, and advocate for clinic funding; administer and monitor the approved budget to ensure the accomplishment of clinic care objectives within budget restrictions.

• Act as liaison between senior-level management, advisory boards and commissions, regulatory bodies, and program staff to ensure that all appropriate policies and guidelines are followed, and that programs are funded with adequate resources to maintain mandated and expected levels of service.

• Maintain an effective working relationship with a variety of public and private organizations, including other Health Services Agency staff, County departments, and agencies.

• Consult with other program managers on relevant program issues; develop alternative strategies for dealing with community health needs and assist in the implementation of solutions as necessary.

• Act as advocate and spokesperson in the community in support of programs and services; interpret, explain, and direct the enforcement of community health-related standards, codes, and regulations.

• Provide highly complex staff assistance to senior-level management and related commissions and advisory boards on program issues.

• Prepare a wide variety of detailed written reports, policies, procedures, and contracts.

• Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Three years of administrative or managerial experience in a healthcare delivery, social, or community services organization, including significant responsibility for one or more of the following: program and budget development, program service delivery, funding, utilization, coordination of community resources, or program evaluation.

The Assistant Civil Engineer is an entry-level class in the Civil Engineer series. This class is distinguished from the Associate Civil Engineer by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to positions within the Civil Engineer series. Incumbents perform less complex office and field engineering work and assignments are generally routine or closely related within a framework of established procedures. The Assistant Civil Engineer receives general supervision from higher level professional engineers and may exercise technical or functional supervision over technical engineering staff. The Assistant Civil Engineer position does not require registration as a civil engineer or professional engineer.  This position will have a focus in development review but will also participate in Capital Project delivery.

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Perform a variety of engineering duties in support of capital improvement projects including road construction, storm drains, sewers, traffic systems and related construction projects.
• Perform design and engineering studies for capital improvement projects, including the preparation of project plans, research project design requirements, drawing specifications, cost estimates and project schedules.
• Preparation of Request for Proposals, including scope of work for a variety of engineering projects and studies. Management of engineering consultant procurement process and oversight of engineering consultants.

Experience must include program or project oversight, vendor or contractor management, system or data analysis, and customer service.

The Position:

Silicon Valley Power (SVP) is seeking dynamic, engaging and qualified engineers for several vacant Electric Utility Engineer positions in various divisions.

For the SVP Fiber Division, this position will be assigned engineering work associated with SVP’s fiber network. This individual will assist with engineering design, engineering pole loading analysis software, site surveys, material selection and estimates.   

For SVP Operations Division, this position will be assigned engineering work associated with communication and electrical power engineering. This individual will assist with the programming of industrial multiplexer networks. The individual should have a strong interest in industrial high-speed data networking.

For SVP Engineering and CIP projects, this position will be assigned engineering work associated with electrical power engineering, substation design and Transmission and distribution systems. The individual may manage or will assist in managing Capital improvement Projects (CIP) to support growth of the electric utility. The candidates should have strong background and interest in electric systems.

For the Customer Development and Project Management Division, this position will assist in monitoring the operation of power generation equipment to ensure that it operates within the desired specifications, conducting routine inspections and maintenance of plant equipment to prevent failures and ensure maximum efficiency, Implementing upgrades and modifications to existing systems to improve performance and reduce environmental impact, coordinating with other technical staff and management to discuss and strategize plant operations, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to safety and environmental protection, preparing reports on plant operations, outage planning, and other performance metrics necessary for proper management and planning.

Acceptable Substitution:

• A Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of experience

• An Engineer-in-Training Certification with ten (10) years of experience in electric utility engineering work can be substituted for the degree in engineering and the required experience indicated above

License/Certifications:

Possession of an appropriate, valid Class C California driver's license is required at time of appointment and for the duration of employment.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Registration as an Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineer in the State of California

The Senior Engineering Technician will prepare exhibits, update CAD files, access and update asset management software, update spreadsheets and project folders, perform site visits, perform field measurements, perform research tasks, support the water sampling program, support plan checks, prepare construction documents, perform field inspections, update block books and communicate with customers, contractors, consultants, engineers, inspectors, and operators.

Currently, the Field Services Division of the Department of Public Works (DPW) is looking for individuals for the position of Senior Engineering Technician.  This position will provide support to the Field Services division through updates to the Geographic Information System (GIS) system, AutoCAD, and miscellaneous databases.  This position will coordinate internally with various DPW staff to maintain system records and support their needs to successfully complete their projects on time.

The ideal candidate should have experience using and editing AutoCAD software. The Senior Engineering Technician will assist the City Surveyor with topographic, monument, and benchmark surveys conducted in the field. Additionally, the technician will help restore missing or damaged monuments and benchmarks and perform administrative tasks such as filing permits, updating block books, conducting research, and carrying out field inspections and investigations. Employees in this role are expected to be fully trained in all procedures related to their assigned responsibilities. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Chief of Party, a Professional Engineer, or a Principal Engineering Technician, who assigns tasks and reviews work to ensure compliance with instructions and established engineering standards.

The Design Division manages capital improvement planning and programming related to pavement management, storm drain facilities, and sanitary sewer systems. Additionally, the division provides capital project delivery services for a variety of City projects including transportation, roadways, pedestrian and bicycle, storm drains, sanitary sewers, buildings, libraries, and parks to implement the City’s capital improvement program. The division also coordinates with the Federal Emergency Management Agency on the City’s Community Rating System (CRS) program to maintain the City’s Class 7 rating. 

The Field Services Division provides construction management, construction inspection, materials testing, and surveying for capital improvement projects such as pavement rehabilitation, traffic signals, storm and sanitary sewers, parks, building improvements and other public improvements.  The Field Services Division also provides construction inspection and coordination for developer/private construction of public improvements within the City’s right-of-way. 

The Land & Property Development Division is responsible for providing efficient and effective engineering services to support private development projects during the entitlement, design, and construction phases. The division works closely with customers, developers, utility companies and the community to ensure projects comply with local, state and federal standards. The division is also responsible for reviewing and approving encroachment permits, easements, street/easement abandonments, subdivision maps, processing encroachment agreements, collecting development-related fees, and collaborating with other Public Works divisions, as well as other City departments throughout all project phases. Additionally, the division provides customer counter services to the general public as the City’s permit center.

The Traffic Engineering Division provides traffic engineering, traffic impact analysis reviews, bicycle and pedestrian improvement planning, grant administration, and traffic signal maintenance and operation services for the City. The division also investigates resident/business inquiries related to street parking, traffic calming, intersection control, and bicycling and pedestrian travel on public streets. Finally, this division coordinates with other agencies such as the Valley Transportation Authority, County of Santa Clara Roads and Airports, Caltrans, and the cities of San Jose, Cupertino, and Sunnyvale related to projects, programs, and grant opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Graduation from high school or tested equivalent; and
• Two (2) years of full-time paraprofessional engineering experience at a level equivalent to City of Santa Clara Engineering Technician including at least one (1) year working with Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and/or Geographic Information System (GIS) tools and software.

ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTION
Possession of an Associate’s degree or higher OR minor in engineering or GIS may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Applications are being accepted for the position of Engineering Intern with the City of South San Francisco’s Public Works Department - Engineering Division. This is a non-benefited, part-time hourly/temporary position.

THE POSITION

Under supervision, performs sub-professional engineering office work to assist the Public Works Engineering Division teams on programs and projects that may include engineering permits, land development plan checks, procedural and standards research and development, record and asset management, traffic research and field crew assistance.
 

IDEAL CANDIDATE SECTION

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in basic engineering principles and demonstrate proficiency in modern drafting and design practices. They should be familiar with engineering office tools and computer-aided drafting software such as AutoCAD, as well as design and GIS mapping systems.

We are seeking someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, adaptable, and self-motivated, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The candidate should be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

The ideal candidate will have willingness to learn about construction management and inspection procedures and the ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations and drafting work. They should be capable of collecting and recording engineering field data with a high level of detail and maintaining thorough documentation. Proficiency in modern office software tools, including PowerPoint, to create professional presentations is essential. The candidate must be able to prepare clear and concise written correspondence, including responses to public inquiries, and demonstrate the ability to understand and follow both oral and written instructions. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work collaboratively with contractors and the public are important. Flexibility to work varied hours as needed to meet project demands is also required.

TYPICAL DUTIES (may include but are not limited to the following):

• Performs a wide variety of responsible sub-professional engineering work including assisting engineering staff with general clerical, administrative, and technical tasks for public works projects
