THE POSITION:

Essential Duties

What you will do: 
Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Depending upon assignment, duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
• Conduct field studies and analyze traffic conditions and issues.
• Prepare transportation engineering plans and alternate plans, including cost estimates.
• Design transportation engineering projects, including specifications for traffic signals, street signs and markings, street lighting, channelization, and parking facilities with full awareness of traffic safety principles.
• Perform calculations and computations related to traffic design and analysis.
• Check construction plans and design detours around construction sites.
• Confer with contractors, engineers, property owners, courts and other agencies.
• Answer inquiries, investigate complaints, and provide information to the general public.
• Attend project meetings and engineering conferences.
• Read and interpret local, state, and federal traffic ordinances and regulations.
• Prepare grant applications for special funding.
• Direct and review work of other professional and technical personnel.
• Assist with implementation of City traffic calming (speed hump) program.

Ability to obtain an Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) Certificate issued by the California Board of Registration for Civil and Professional Engineers within one year of hire.

In this role, you will perform skilled inspection work with City residential housing inspection programs. The City of Santa Clara is recruiting for the Electric Utility Chief Operating Officer for its Electric Utility, Silicon Valley Power (SVP).  Reporting to the Chief Electric Utility Officer (CEUO), the Electric Utility Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a senior management position in the City's unclassified service responsible for the oversight and direction for the fiscal, administrative, and managerial operations of the utility. The COO has supervisory and support responsibilities for the utility's divisions: Utility Operations, Customer Development and Project Management, Resource Planning and Customer Engagement, and Business Services. The COO will help guide SVP through the extraordinary period of growth related by doubling the existing capacity of the electrical system to meet new customer demands over the next 10 years. The Position

The Veterinary Technician will assist in the care of animal patients at the City’s animal shelter. Additional key responsibilities include use of medical care equipment, as well as moving and handling domestic animals and wildlife. The Veterinary Technician reports to the Animal Services Manager and assists the veterinarian, animal services officers and administrative team and is responsible for quality humane treatment of all animals in the care of the Tri-City Animal Shelter. The Fremont Police Department Animal Services is seeking a motivated candidate with experience working in a veterinary or shelter environment providing humane animal handling and restraint techniques of healthy, ill and fractious animals. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, initiate and complete tasks, and work autonomously. In addition, the incumbent will have demonstrated history of excellent customer service and an understanding of infectious disease in a shelter setting and within a community.

 

The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Aquatics Specialist II in the Parks, Recreation and Waterfront Department! In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide instruction in swim and serve as a lifeguard at assigned swimming facilities. You'll teach swim skills to people of all ages and supervise the conduct of swimmers in order to maintain health and safety standards. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is: 
A minimum of two (2) summer seasons working as a lifeguard or swim instructor.

Must possess a valid Water Safety Instruction Card which requires an American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificate, and successful completion of first aid and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training.

If acting as a Coach or teaching a specific water sports activity, in addition to the qualifications outlined above, must possess a valid USA Swimming Level 1 Certification or Specialized Aquatics Certificate.

This is an exciting opportunity under the Technical Infrastructure Division in the Information Technology Department (ITD). The Technical Infrastructure Division designs and engineers solutions that address and meet the City's strategies built around Smart City initiatives, such as Digital Inclusion and Digital Equity, Public Wi-Fi expansion for Economic Development, Endpoint Modernization and virtualization, Multi-cloud frameworks, and digital analytics to support data-driven decisions. The Technical Infrastructure Division includes citywide wired and wireless network infrastructure, core server infrastructure, public and private cloud infrastructure, and hyper-converged infrastructure. The city seeks motivated engineering-level candidates who are energized by opportunities to maximize their potential by learning new technologies, designing and implementing solutions, and fulfilling smart city initiatives.

Salary Information: The actual salary shall be determined by the final candidate's qualifications and experience. In addition to the starting salary, employees in the Enterprise Information Technology Engineer (EITE) I/II shall also receive an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay.

Salary Range including the 5% non-pensionable increase:

• Enterprise Information Technology Engineer I: $121,583.28 - $147,944.16 annually
• Enterprise Information Technology Engineer II: $128,812.32 - $156,942.24 annually

The EITE I/II classifications are represented by the Municipal Employees' Federation (MEF) bargaining unit.
