Work Environment:  This full time position is part of the Facilities & Fleet Department at Midpen’s Administrative Office in Los Altos, California. Midpen offers a hybrid office/telecommute work schedule for this position following successful onboarding, and may be eligible for a 9/80 schedule.  To meet service needs, three days of working on-site is required per week – set days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the office. The Fleet Services Specialist will often meet with Midpen staff in the district field offices.  Employees may work in the field and occasionally be exposed to loud noise levels, cold and hot temperatures, inclement weather conditions, or road hazards. Must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

This individual will provide Tier-3 technical assistance and leadership in helping establish a robust IT asset management and ticketing system to streamline the daily operations of a dynamic IT department.

What You’ll Be Doing
Definition
Under direction, the Senior Information Systems Analyst leads and participates in the work of staff responsible for providing technical and analytical support to VTA computer information systems and computer servers.

Distinguishing Characteristics
This is the advanced journey level in the Information Systems Analyst series.  Positions at this level are distinguished from other classes within the series by the level of responsibility assumed and the complexity of duties assigned. The Senior Information Systems Analyst performs project lead functions including assigning work, delegating assignments, and reviewing the work of others and keeping the supervisor updated.

Incumbents at this level perform the most difficult and responsible types of duties assigned to classes within this series including serving as a project lead over staff responsible for maintaining VTA's computer information systems and computer servers, researching and recommending new hardware and software components, and providing related support to the users.  Incumbents at this level are fully trained in all procedures related to assigned area of responsibility.

This class is distinguished from the higher-level classifications of Information Systems Supervisor and Technology Infrastructure Supervisor in that the supervisory classifications are responsible for full supervisory activities over a major section in the Technology Department.
 

Minimum Qualifications
Employment Standards
Sufficient training, education, and experience maintaining computer information systems and computer servers to demonstrate possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Development of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is typically obtained through a combination of training and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a four-year degree in computer science or a related field, and four (4) years of responsible experience performing technical and analytical tasks in support of computer information systems and computer servers. (Additional applicable experience with technical and analytical tasks in support of computer information systems and computer servers substitutes for college on a year for year basis.)

 

Knowledge of:

• Operational characteristics of computer information systems and computer servers;
• Methods and techniques for troubleshooting a variety of information systems operations and maintenance problems and concerns;

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is seeking a Risk Analyst to join our highly collaborative and dedicated team in advancing the Housing Authority’s risk management and insurance programs. The Department of Public Works is responsible for delivering capital improvement projects for a wide variety of City facilities and infrastructure, maintaining City facilities and fleet assets, facilitating, and regulating development activities, and providing animal care and services. Position Duties

The Fleet Management Division in Public Works Department is responsible for the management of the City’s fleet including the comprehensive inspection, maintenance, repair, acquisition, and disposal. The City’s vehicle and equipment fleet currently consists of over 2,700 assets. 

The Department of Public Works Fleet Management Division is recruiting to fill one (1) Equipment Mechanic Assistant I/II (EMA I/II) position. The EMA I/II is responsible for performing inspections, communicating with other staff and customers, servicing, installation of electronic electrical equipment, ordering parts, entering data in the fleet management system, road testing and diagnosing problems to make various repairs and adjustments on automotive, heavy truck and/or heavy equipment. While working under general supervision, the EMA I/II will be expected to perform safely and follow all rules required by the City of San Jose. These positions, depending on facility assignment, will require working various shift hours and overtime.

Equipment Mechanic Assistant I/II (SERVICE) 

Equipment Mechanic Assistant (Service) position is responsible for scheduling, servicing, inspections, and repairs on City vehicles and equipment.

Equipment Mechanic Assistant I/II (PARTS)

Equipment Mechanic Assistant (Parts) position orders, receives, and issues automotive, truck, and equipment parts. This position also researches and identifies select parts for issue, stocks and verifies inventories, and utilizes the fleet database to manage inventories.
