CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
This category of work is considered executive professional, with the concept and title limited to use only within the Executive Department; positions at this level plan, direct, manage and oversee one or more department related programs, policies and procedures with District-wide impact.  Incumbents are responsible for designing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and modifying functions and programs, including short- and long-term planning activities; allocating staff and budget resources among competing demands; budget preparation and management, and developing and implementing recommendations for operational, policy, and procedural improvements.  Employees exercise initiative and resourcefulness, considerable independent judgment, and have extensive contact with senior management positions within the District, Board of Directors, other public agencies, regulatory and governmental agencies, and the public.

Summary:
Under supervision, performs routine semi-skilled to skilled grounds landscaping and maintenance work; performs preventive maintenance of District properties; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. These duties may be performed independently or under supervision with a Lead or Groundskeeper II present. • Performs a variety of routine landscape and ground maintenance tasks, including maintaining areas around District facilities, hardscapes and playgrounds, and removing debris and graffiti; maintains assigned areas in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
• Maintains turf and landscaped areas by mowing, edging and weeding; learns and assists with fertilizing, spraying with insecticides and herbicides, aerating and watering.
• Blows, sweeps and washes sidewalks, roadways, parking lots, tennis courts, and other hard­scapes to maintain a clean, safe and orderly condition.
• Assists with planting and removing trees, shrubs and plants; prunes shrubs and trees to shape and encourage growth, using hand and power saws as assigned.
• Assists with the installation, repair and maintenance of irrigation systems.
• Assists with athletic field preparation and the maintenance of play areas and related facilities.
• Operates a variety of power tools, hand tools and motor-driven equipment such as trucks and tractors.
• Loads and unloads equipment, supplies and refuse.
• Maintains daily work records, hazardous materials records and restricted pesticide-use records.
• Attends meetings; participates in safety training.
• Weekend work and rotating schedules may be required.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participates during disasters or when emergency response is needed.
• May be required to drive District or personal vehicle.
• Non-exempt employees may be required to work overtime.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge, skill, and/or ability listed below is qualifying.

Education/Experience:
A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: graduation from high school or GED equivalent, and one year of related grounds maintenance experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to park visitors and to other employees.

Math Ability:
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of money and weight measure­ment, volume and distance.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to use common-sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates and Licenses:

• Valid California driver’s license with a good driving record and current automobile insurance.

The City of Thousand Oaks Public Works Department is seeking an Assistant Analyst to support the Sustainability Division in advancing the City’s sustainability and energy initiatives. This position plays a key role in managing and analyzing complex data related to energy, water, waste, and electric vehicle infrastructure, while supporting implementation of the Climate and Environmental Action Plan (CEAP).

The Assistant Analyst assists with benchmarking, reporting, GIS mapping, and coordination of external energy programs, as well as contract development and tracking funding opportunities to ensure compliance and maximize program impact. Through public outreach, vendor coordination, and continuous improvement efforts, this role helps advance innovative solutions that promote energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption, and the City’s long-term sustainability and environmental goals.

SALARY 

The anticipated hiring range for the Assistant Analyst position is $80,594 - $100,743 annually, with a full salary range up to $120,892. The City typically makes offers within the hiring range based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. 
 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Support in collecting, cleaning, and analyzing sustainability data, including energy, water, waste, and EV charging
• Assist with the development of dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for internal and public use
• Support sustainability benchmarking, ongoing reporting, and greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory updates
• Assist with CEAP implementation through data updates, progress tracking, KPI reporting, and documentation

Description

The City of Thousand Oaks is seeking a high-performing Senior Planner to lead complex development and long-range planning initiatives in one of Southern California’s most desirable communities. We are seeking an innovative, collaborative individual to conduct a variety of planning duties with competence and professionalism. DESCRIPTION

The City of Thousand Oaks has an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Analyst within the Public Services Division of the Finance Department. This position performs analytical, reporting, and project support that improves operations, strengthens financial performance, and supports data-driven decision-making across City programs.

The Assistant Analyst collaborates with departments Citywide to analyze data, develop dashboards and reports, and identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and customer service outcomes. The position supports a variety of revenue and customer service programs and works across multiple systems and business areas, making it an excellent opportunity for an analyst who enjoys learning new operations and solving complex challenges.

Prior experience in municipal utilities or tax administration is helpful but not required. The successful candidate will learn program operations while applying strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. The Assistant Analyst reports to the Revenue Operations Manager.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Tax Director shall be directly responsible to the Tribal Council for the direction, control, and operation of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Tax Department.  The Tax Director will be responsible for managing and expanding the Tax Department, which includes formulating all department administrative policies, processes, tax programs, along with defining all staffing and scope of work.
