The Senior Lunch Program Coordinator will oversee the daily operations of two senior lunch programs, ensuring high-quality service and a welcoming environment for participants. This role provides leadership and guidance to per diem staff, Title V workers, and volunteers of all ages, serving as a coach and mentor to support their success. Strong attention to grant-related requirements and food safety compliance is essential to maintaining program excellence and accountability.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a valid State of California driver’s license and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with individuals from diverse backgrounds. This position requires the ability to work independently while receiving direction from a supervisor, as well as the capacity to train, oversee, and collaborate effectively with volunteers and older adults. Strong attention to detail is essential, including the ability to maintain accurate records and submit documentation as required. Proficiency with computers, including experience using Microsoft Word and Excel, is required. Upon hire, the candidate must successfully obtain a State Food Handler Safety Certificate and pass all required background checks. A bilingual pay differential may be available for candidates fluent in identified languages.  Must be available Monday-Friday 10:00am-2:00pm.

Recreation Program Specialist Example Duties:

• Follow reservation protocol/procedure for patrons.
• Review menu provided by caterer, submit nutritional component breakdown to County for grant compliance, and prepare flyers for patron.
• Submit documentation/information associated with County nutrition grant to supervisor.
• Schedule and implement nutritional education for seniors and in-service training for staff and volunteers.
• Serve as liaison with caterer, grant provider and staff/volunteers.
• Implement food safety practices as outlined by the Health Department.
• Prior nutrition experience is desired, but not required. Training will be provided.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Redwood City invites you to apply for the position of Equipment Mechanic I/II.  The Equipment Mechanic works within the Equipment Services Section within the Public Works Department, and is responsible for making minor and major mechanical repairs to automotive, diesel and other power-driven equipment, performing routine maintenance and servicing, and performing specialized mechanical and fabrication work as required.  

Equipment Mechanic I:

This is the entry level in the Equipment Mechanic class series. Positions in this class perform mechanical repair work of a routine to moderately complex nature, working under the guidance and training of more experienced mechanics.

Equipment Mechanic II:

This is the full journey level in the Equipment Mechanic class series. Positions assigned to this class perform the full range of journey level automotive and equipment maintenance work typically assigned to Equipment Mechanics. In addition, an Equipment Mechanic II assumes responsibility for providing training for Equipment Mechanic I’s and regularly performs the most complex maintenance and repair work in the shop.

Qualifications:

Applicants must be at least 15 years old and able to obtain a work permit if under the age of 18. Candidates must complete and pass the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training course, including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification, by June 1, 2026. While not required, Water Safety Instruction (WSI) certification is highly desirable.

Lifeguard Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure Patron Safety: The primary responsibility of a lifeguard is to protect lives by preventing injuries and accidents. This includes remaining alert and vigilant, actively monitoring the pool and surrounding areas, recognizing hazards early, and responding quickly and effectively to emergencies—including water rescues, CPR, and first aid.
• Enforce Rules Consistently: Lifeguards help patrons stay safe by enforcing facility rules fairly and consistently. This involves monitoring behavior, addressing unsafe actions, and educating patrons about safe practices.
• Maintain a Clean and Safe Facility: Lifeguards assist with daily maintenance and cleanliness of the facility. Tasks may include checking and recording chemical levels, organizing and inspecting equipment (including rescue buoy, Shepard's hook, First Aid pack, etc...), picking up trash and debris, and reporting or addressing unsafe facility conditions.
• Availability: Ability to work a minimum 25 hours a week from June 15th – August 9th, including some weekends. Pre-planned and approved vacation requests may be accommodated.

Swim Instructor Job Responsibilities:

• Provide Instruction Across Levels: Teach swim lesson participants across a range of skill levels, following established curriculum and safety standards.
• Ensure Participant Safety: Maintain constant awareness and create a safe learning environment for all participants within your class.
• Maintain Professional Class Operations: Arrive prepared and work all scheduled hours, begin and end classes on time, stay afterward to answer participant or parent questions, and ensure all equipment and supplies are properly cleaned.
• Assess and Support Student Progress: Instruct, observe, and evaluate students’ skills and progress throughout the session, providing clear feedback and guidance.
• Complete Required Documentation: Accurately complete and submit report cards, skills sheets, attendance records, and any other required documentation on time.

The City of Sebastopol is seeking a dynamic, professional leader who is a collaborative problem-solver to serve as the next Planning Director. The Planning Director will direct, oversee, and materially participate in the work of the City’s Planning Department, including current and long-range planning, maintenance of the General Plan, Housing Element, and zoning codes, and review of proposals for construction and development within the City of Sebastopol. The selected candidate will coordinate activities, permits, and projects with other City departments. In addition to reviewing and preparing recommendations to the Planning Commission on development proposals, and serve as the official secretary and officer of the Planning Commission.

The Planning Director performs professional planning duties in the fields of long-range planning, current planning, and building permitting, including a variety of diverse professional planning assignments. The incumbent will oversee technical reviews and evaluations of land use and permit applications, handle the most complex customer service issues, environmental impact documents, and construction projects, and provide supervision or lead direction to professional and support staff. The City of Belmont is seeking a Senior Lifeguard/Pool Manager to supervise the Summer Aquatics Program at the Carlmont Aquatics Facility located at 1400 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont, CA 94002

Salary (depending on experience) and Hours:

Monday – Friday Shifts - NO WEEKENDS!

Pay range depending on experience $23.97 - $29.14

Typical shift is from 9:15AM-5:15PM Monday-Thursday and Friday 9:15AM-3:30PM.

• Must have at least one summer of supervisory experience.

What You Will Do

• Supervise and ensure patron safety at all times, including clearly and professionally conveying rules to patrons and enforcing facility regulations.

• Administer first aid and provide emergency care as required.

• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and with exposure to pool chemicals.

• Maintain a safe aquatic environment.

• Greet the public and respond to questions and inquiries.

• Assist the Swim Lesson program.

• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor by wearing appropriate uniform or attire for the position and exhibiting respect and enthusiasm.

• Facilitate program activities according to a prepared curriculum for Camps and Swim Lessons.

• Provide feedback regarding the City's aquatic program and activity schedules to the participants or supervisors.

• Conduct proper opening and closing procedures of the aquatic facility.

• Assist in staff trainings and meetings.

• Analyze program needs and recommend new and innovative program ideas.

• Set up proper furniture arrangements, equipment, and facility maintenance.

• Work as a Lead with Lifeguards and Swim Instructors and offer assistance in maintaining the proper execution of all aspects of facility programs, including feedback.

• Ensure all policies of the City of Belmont are followed during all programs, special events and facility use.

• Provide excellent customer service and problem solving.

• Perform functions of registration software applications.

• Prepare daily deposits and reconcile daily reports.

• Ensure all revenues received at assigned site are properly entered and accounted for.

• New Hires must be available for all 6 weeks of the summer aquatics season from June 22 – July 31, 2026. Returners must be available for majority of the summer.

What You Will Do

Lifeguards/Swim Instructors will ensure the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies and instructing swim lessons for participants of all ages.

The essential functions of this position include: maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; act immediately and appropriately to ensure the safety of patrons in the event of an emergency; provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services; perform various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility; prepare and maintain appropriate reports; possess thorough knowledge of rescue techniques; understand and enforcement of facility rules, policies and procedures, demonstrate leadership, public relations skills and decision-making skills.

In addition, Swim Instructors are responsible for instructing all swim lesson participants, ensuring the safety of all participants in their class, evaluating students participating in swim lessons, submitting completed participant report cards on time, and attending mandatory meetings and training sessions as scheduled.

The individual must be able to represent the City of Belmont in a professional manner and follow the City’s polices and regulations.

Under general direction of the Director of Finance, the Assistant Director of Finance plans, organizes, manages, and provides direction and oversight for all Finance activities including budgeting, treasury, cash management, financial analysis, accounts payable and receivable, grants management, payroll and benefits administration, debt management, and financial reporting; implements internal financial controls and generally accepted accounting principles and procedures; coordinates assigned activities with other Alameda CTC departments and outside agencies; provides highly responsible and complex professional assistance to the Director of Finance in areas of expertise; and performs related work as required.
