The position performs highly responsible, complex general and specialized administrative and clerical duties.

REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES
Receives general supervision from and reports directly to the General Manager and his/her
designated representative.

ESSENTIAL AND IMPORTANT DUTIES

• Composes correspondence independently or as directed; prepares letters, reports and other finished copy from rough draft and marginal notes; reviews, formats, and edits general correspondence for the General Manager, Finance Officer, Claims Administrator, and other personnel, ensuring proper formatting, grammar, and punctuation.
• Attends Board of Directors meetings, takes and transcribes minutes. Prepares meeting agendas and Board packets. Posts meeting notices, agendas and minutes to various locations and website.
• Coordinates and schedules a variety of meetings and other events/activities, tracks number of attendees, coordinates site locations, and arranges for necessary supplies and refreshments.
• Maintains and updates a variety of agency files, records, lists, and databases. Enters data/information into Risk Management Information System, to maintain and update data/information. Generates a variety of reports from database system(s). Scans and files documents into an electronic data warehouse.
• Receives, opens, time stamps, and distributes incoming mail.
• Receives and reviews invoices, identifies appropriate general ledger code, enters information into system, generates checks for payment of invoices, obtains necessary signatures, and mails payment to vendors.
• Answers multi-line telephone, screens callers/customers, responds to questions and provides general information regarding. Refers callers/customers to the proper individual for handling when appropriate.
• Monitors, maintains, and updates information on the Authority’s external website and intranet. Ensures that information is accurate and current and provides feedback and updated information to the webmaster.
• Gathers and compiles data and information for general purposes and/or special reports or projects such as the annual report; contacts other divisions, employees, agencies, and individuals for additional material, as necessary.
• Operates a variety of office equipment, including copiers, scanners, fax machines, computers, and printers.
• Provides administrative support to the General Manager, Finance Officer, Claims Administrator, and other staff, as necessary. Maintains calendars, schedules appointments/conference rooms, screens appointments and/or refers to appropriate sources to organize and coordinate staff appointments.
• Designs and creates a variety of brochures, flyers, newsletters, forms, and/or training materials utilizing graphics/publishing software.

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the classification of Correctional Officer.  Under continuing supervision incumbents perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as assigned. About the Sheriff’s Department :

The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is responsible for the administration of the Yuba County Jail and Jail staff. The Mission of the Yuba County Jail is to provide safe, efficient, humane and secure custody of all persons incarcerated. The county prisoner population is made up of those who are sentenced to county jail, those serving state prison sentences in the county jail under AB109, and those who are pre-trial and who have not yet been sentenced. The jail provides a necessary link in the criminal justice system. There are numerous programs operating within the facility including medical, kitchen, exercise, commissary, visiting, law library, inmate education, work programs, work furlough program, and inmate classification.

The Public Works Solid Waste Facility is hiring an Office Technician I to support daily operations and provide service to the community. This position is responsible for collecting fees and directing traffic at the County’s solid waste site. Under the general supervision of supervisory and management staff, the Office Technician I also performs a variety of clerical and technical duties, and provides information and assistance to the public regarding departmental policies, procedures, and applicable laws. This position has an alternative schedule, rotating with every other weekend. This is a full-time position scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

About The Position:

The County of Yuba is actively recruiting to fill current vacancies and establish an eligibility list for the position of Deputy Sheriff. The Environmental Program Manager position manages, supervises, plans, coordinates, directs, and reviews the activities of the Glenn County Air Pollution Control District.  This position receives direction from the Air Pollution Control Officer or CUPA Director and exercises supervision over technical, administrative, and inspection staff. WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Oversees the activities of the Air Pollution control District.

The County of Yuba is recruiting for both Extra-Help and Full-Time Juvenile Corrections Officers I/II, in an effort to fill current vacancies and expand staffing levels. These positions are located on the Tri-County Youth Rehabilitation Campus which falls under the Juvenile Institutions Division of the Yuba County Probation Department.  The primary responsibilities of this flexibly staffed position are to: provide care, custody, supervision, and control of youth housed in the secured detention facilities while they are pending legal action or serving a post adjudication commitment; ensure and sustain a safe and secure environment for youth; and coordinate counseling and behavior modification activities associated with the operation of the facilities.

About Detention Services & Yuba County:

Our Campus provides youth detention services to the communities of Yuba, Sutter, and Colusa Counties as well as several contract counties through our Camp Singer program.  We operate 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, and includes the Tri-County Juvenile Hall, Secure Housing Unit, and Maxine Singer Youth Guidance Center (Camp Singer), under a Joint Powers Agreement between the three counties. Our Department is the administrative agency responsible for the management and daily operation of the facility. The shared goal of facility staff is to provide youth with support and tools that will assist them with successfully reintegrating back into the community.  Staff are provided with state mandated relevant training, which includes youth trauma; crisis management; cultural competence; mental health awareness; sexual abuse and harassment; and proper use of force.

Under general direction of the Information Systems Supervisor, the Help Desk Technician/Senior provides support across all areas of the Agency. This position supports end user business technology systems and information needs. This includes any necessary hardware, software, networking, compliance, security, support and training.  

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
This is an exempt position that reports directly to the Information Systems Supervisor. The Help Desk Technician/Senior supports the Information Systems Supervisor in the delivery of services across the Agency to provide for and manage business technology and information system hardware and software, maintenance, end user support and training, and the planning and specification of business technology. This position is the Agency’s primary first-level IT support and assists end users and consultants with a variety of technological hardware and software needs, including assisting staff with selection, installation, integration, maintenance, and support of technology needs.

Work is performed within a broad framework of general policy and requires creativity and resourcefulness to accomplish goals and objectives and to apply concepts, plans, and strategies in ways which may deviate from traditional methods and practices. All work is expected to be carried out in an ethical, accurate, secure, timely, and confidential manner. The incumbent must be familiar with software and systems related to computer operating systems, security, networking, data backup and recovery, and office productivity.  

The Senior Help Desk Technician is distinguished from Help Desk Technician by the level of responsibility assumed, complexity of duties assigned, independence of action taken and amount of time spent performing the more complex duties. Employees at the Senior level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise.

Under general supervision (Hydrologist I) to direction (Hydrologist II) performs collection and analysis of hydrologic and meteorological data in support of the Agency’s mission to provide reliable water supply for irrigation, groundwater management, flood control, and power generation; ensures minimum flow requirements to maintain water rights; and performs related duties, as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS

Hydrologist I: This is the entry-level classification in the Hydrologist series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform routine hydrologic data collection, while learning Agency policies and procedures. As experience is gained, assignments become more varied, complex, and difficult; close supervision and frequent review of work lessen as an incumbent demonstrates skill to perform the work independently. Positions at this level usually perform most of the duties required of the positions at the Hydrologist II-level but are not expected to function at the same skill level and usually exercise less independent discretion and judgment in matters related to work procedures and methods. Work is usually supervised while in progress and fits an established structure or pattern. Exceptions or changes in procedures are explained in detail as they arise. 

Hydrologist II: This is the journey-level classification in the Hydrologist series. Positions at this level are distinguished from the Hydrologist I-level by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned, working independently, and exercising judgment and initiative. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. This class is distinguished from the Senior Hydrologist in that the latter performs the more complex work assigned to the series and provides technical and functional direction over lower-level staff.

Positions in the Hydrologist class series are flexibly staffed; positions at the II-level are normally filled by advancement from the I-level; progression to the II-level is dependent on (i) management affirmation that the position is performing the full range of duties assigned to the classification; (ii) satisfactory work performance; (iii) the incumbent meeting the minimum qualifications for the classification including any licenses and certifications; and (iv) management approval for progression to the II-level.

The City of Colfax is currently accepting applications for Maintenance Worker I. This is an entry level position in the Public Works department requiring a minimum of 1 year of experience in a semi-skilled maintenance occupation. Typical duties include: landscape maintenance, electrical and plumbing repairs, minor construction and light carpentry projects, cleaning public restrooms, keeping public streets and parks clean and in good repair. The employee will check storm drains, culverts and ditches; operate tools and equipment to patch and repair pavement, construct and maintain gutters, sidewalks and other incidental improvements. The ability to operate power tools and work safely, wearing appropriate PPE. Occasional maintenance will be required for the wastewater treatment plant and collection systems. The County of Yuba is recruiting for the position of Social Worker III/III Master’s Level in the Child and Adult Protective Services Division of the Health & Human Services Department in an effort to establish an eligibility list for future vacancies. Under general supervision, incumbents are fully competent to independently perform the most complex and sensitive social services case work by providing a variety of services to County residents; identify, access and document abuse and neglect cases; provide counseling and support services to children and parents; refer clients to services; prepare detailed, complex court documents and testify in court as required; and perform related work as assigned. The work may be related to a specific program area or to more general social service benefit provision. The Social Worker III and the Social Worker III – Master’s Level are the advanced journey-level classes in the general social work series.
