The North Tahoe Fire Protection District is currently accepting applications for current and future job openings from qualified individuals to serve on the chipping crew. These positions are grant-funded, seasonal positions assigned to a 40-hour work week. These positions are returning to the fire district in 2025, and we’ll be hiring three people to operate the chipping crew.  This position is expected to be active from approximately May through November.  The actual start and end dates will be dependent on weather and snow conditions and may be extended beyond 6 months, but no more than 9 months from the employment start date.  The eligibility list established from this recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies.  

The Chipping Crew Members work under the direct supervision of the Division Chief of Fire and Life Safety or their designee.  

The primary purpose of this crew is to operate a residential chipping program for the local community. This includes responding to chipping requests, traveling to those addresses with a truck and chipper, chipping the material, ensuring a clean site upon leaving, potentially hauling and dumping the material at a temporary holding site, assisting with loading, and ensuring activities are adequately tracked. The applicant must be comfortable working in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions and lifting objects frequently up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.  Chipping crew members will also assist with community workdays utilizing the truck and chipper or assisting with cutting and hauling combustible materials and filling green waste dumpsters.

The Fiscal Analyst I/II/III position at the Glenn County Community Action Division, performs varied and complex professional accounting and financial analysis work relating to various grants and programs; fiscal and contract management; fiscal program analysis and compliance; prepares analytical, narrative, statistical, accounting and financial reports; develops and monitors budgets; prepares financial statements and reports, and related duties as assigned. Fiscal Analyst II is the journey-level classification in the series and is distinguished from the Fiscal Analyst I by the responsibility and working independently with minimal supervision. WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Provides information for and prepares periodic accounting, fiscal reports, and analysis to internal units, federal, state, and local agencies and/or to private auditing firms as required by governing agencies.

• Prepares various financial statements including worksheets, balance sheets, income statements, statements of cash flow, adjusting and closing balance sheets, depreciation schedules, allocation schedules, and cost reports.

The City of Lincoln is accepting applications for the position of Refuse Truck Driver II in the Solid Waste division of the Public Works department. Under general supervision, this position performs the full array of duties in the Solid Waste division, including maintenance, operating collection vehicles and refuse equipment operation. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

The Refuse Truck Driver II is the journey-level class responsible for a wide variety of maintenance and refuse collection tasks. SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED

This position receives general supervision from the Solid Waste division’s Public Services Supervisor. May exercise technical and functional supervision over assigned staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Performs general maintenance, repair, construction, equipment operation and installation work in refuse collection.
• Operates a variety of collection vehicles and equipment including front, rear and side loaders in the collection and transportation of residential and commercial refuse; drives to landfill site when vehicle is full and unloads material; evaluates and updates assigned routes; cleans, maintains and inspects assigned vehicles; maintains daily logs.
• Demonstrates a full understanding of applicable policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties; may provide training to lower level staff; responds to questions and concerns from the general public; provides information as is appropriate and resolves public service complaints.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Position requires sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties. The position also requires both near and far vision when inspecting work and operating assigned equipment. The need to lift, carry and push tools, equipment and supplies weighing 25 pounds or more is also required. Additionally, the incumbent in this outdoor position works in all weather conditions including wet, hot and cold. The incumbent may use cleaning and lubricating chemicals, pesticides or herbicides which may expose the employee to fumes, dust and air contaminants. The nature of the work also requires the incumbent to climb ladders, use power and noise producing tools and equipment, operate hydraulic aerial devices, drive motorized vehicles and heavy equipment, work in heavy vehicle traffic conditions and often work with constant interruptions.

The Assistant Engineer is the entry level class in the professional civil engineering series and is responsible for performing the professional engineering work not requiring registration as a Civil Engineer. The Associate Engineer is the journey level class in the professional civil engineering series and is responsible for performing the more complex design and construction of capital improvement projects and for reviewing private development projects for design conformance and accuracy. Incumbents perform complex professional engineering assignments requiring considerable knowledge of various aspects of civil engineering including land development, planning, design standards and regulations, construction and maintenance. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Senior Civil Engineer in that the latter performs the most complex and difficult assignments within the division and may exercise direct supervision over assigned project staff.

The Senior Civil Engineer is an advanced journey level registered professional engineer class and exercises full responsibility for planning and organizing a variety of assigned engineering projects and directing the work of assigned staff. Incumbents perform complex professional engineering and program management assignments demanding considerable knowledge of various aspects of engineering and related program requirements including land development, planning, design standards and regulations, construction and maintenance. The position also requires both near and far vision and acute hearing. Additionally, incumbents may work outdoors in all weather conditions including wet, hot and cold. ROLE

Under the direction of the Director of Engineering/City Engineer, the Engineering Manager plans, organizes and directs the activities of an assigned engineering division; coordinates engineering services with other divisions, City departments, outside agencies and organizations; performs advanced level professional engineering work in the areas of current and advance engineering; provides complex staff assistance to the Director and others to plan, organize, supervise, and review the work of assigned staff; may be designated to serve as acting City Engineer and perform other related work as required.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This classification is responsible for planning and directing staff, and directing current and advanced engineering projects .

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

The incumbent receives general direction from the Director and provides direction and supervision to assigned professional, technical, and clerical staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Plans, manages, oversees and directs the professional and technical engineering work in the design, investigation, project management and construction of street, storm drainage facilities, sanitary sewer facilities, parks, park irrigation systems, water production and distribution facilities; reclaimed water, buildings, and other projects.
• Recommends goals and objectives; assists in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and standards to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Plans, organizes and supervises the activities of assigned professional, technical and clerical staff.
• Trains employees in work procedures, standards and safety practices; reviews work in progress or upon completion for compliance with standards; prepares documentation and improvement plans and recommends disciplinary action.
• Reviews and approves employee work schedules, overtime, vacation, sick leave and time cards.
• Participates in the development and implementation of the Department's work plan and budget; reviews budget expenditures; recommends necessary staff, equipment, materials and supplies needed to support the work plan.
• Maintains accurate, complete and up-to-date records.
• Prepares and presents studies and recommendations, reports, resolutions and ordinances before the Planning Commission, City Council and citizen groups regarding Department findings and recommendations.
• Coordinates engineering activities with other divisions, departments, governmental agencies and outside organizations; confers with engineers, developers, architects, and others; provides staff support to a variety of boards and commissions; participates in professional groups and committees.
• Reviews, assigns and oversees the design and development of public works and utility structures from pre-application through the construction phase; the preparation of project specifications; provides advice and instructions to subordinates on design standards and problems from design inception through the construction phase to completion of the project.
• Prepares and negotiates requests for proposals, contracts and agreements; analyzes proposed development projects for compliance with applicable codes, ordinances and regulations.
• Monitors and keeps informed of current trends in the field of municipal engineering, including legislation, court ruling and professional practices and techniques; evaluates their impact and recommend policy and procedural modifications accordingly.
• Acts on behalf of the Director when needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
