The City of San José, Office of the City Attorney is seeking an attorney with California municipal law and government experience, or transferable legal skills and a commitment to public service.

As an attorney in our Office, you will serve as trusted counsel to the Mayor and City Council, City Manager, administrative departments, and boards and commissions. You may be called upon to advise as the general counsel to departments regarding their respective duties, powers, functions and obligations in areas including public works, city-wide procurements, employment, land use planning, environmental services, public safety, utilities and housing. Responsibilities also include preparing opinions, ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and other legal documents. Two years of minimum experience in one or more of these areas of law is desirable but not required.

The successful candidate should possess a strong work ethic, analytical depth, superior interpersonal skills, good judgment, and can communicate clearly and effectively. Admission to the California State Bar is required for this position.

The Budget Analyst position in the City Manager’s Office is responsible for operating and/or capital budgetary analysis assignments for a City Service Area (CSA) and several City departments, including assisting their assigned CSA/departments in the development of their operating/capital budgets; analysis of revenue and expenditure projections; coordination and presentation of budget information to the City Manager as appropriate; preparation of the City's annual Operating and/or Capital Budgets, Annual Report, Mid-Year Budget Review, and Fees and Charges Report; review of budget-related departmental requests; collaboration with departments to resolve budgetary issues; review of City Council memoranda for budget implications and appropriate budget language, if necessary; conducting research on budget and policy-related matters; and special projects as assigned. During critical times of the year this position will be expected to work overtime, both weeknights and weekends, for the preparation and release of several key budget documents.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

• Train clients safely according to current industry standards and training.

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Certified Personal Trainer required. Additionally, combination of education, training, and experience, that provides the required knowledge and abilities.

The Office of Racial Equity is hiring an Assistant to the City Manager position to serve as the Inclusion and Belonging Manager for the City of San José.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience and knowledge in:

• Being a bridge-builder with the San José community and trusted to be a local partner on immigrant and refugee issues;

• Familiarity with legislative process, advocacy towards immigration policy and initiatives;

DEFINITION
Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, this position provides engineering support to NCPA’s Power Generation Service department.  The Power Generation Service Department includes the “State of the Art” Lodi Energy Center (LEC) Combined Cycle Power Plant, our green Geothermal Power Plant, our Hydroelectric Power Plant, and includes our hydrogen fuel source with a mission to provide green and renewable energy to our 16-member agencies in Northern California.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Manage and assist with power plant improvement projects, performance monitoring, and other initiatives. Conduct feasibility analysis, and justification, and prepare plans, and budgets.
Lead or assist with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to investigate incidents that cause “forced outages”, equipment malfunctions, failures, or performance degradation at plants.
Provide administrative and end-user support for NCPA’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Plant Information (PI Historian). Ensure that users are properly trained and the application is used in an optimal fashion. 
Support compliance with NERC/WECC reliability standards.  Assist in the preparation, review, collection, and organization of compliance evidence and associated procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education 
For all levels, the qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited college or university with a focus on Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

The Newark Recreation and Community Services Department seeks motivated, self-driven individuals passionate about working with the public. THE POSITION:

The City of San Rafael Library & Recreation Department, Child Care Division, is accepting applications for Child Care Instructor I to work in our School-Age Programs.  Under the supervision of the Child Care Director or Head Teacher, you will assist in the planning and implementation of daily activities for the school-age program. 

This position performs the following essential job duties:      

• Assist in planning and implementing age appropriate curriculum, activities, and events.
• Provide continuous supervision to children in day-to-day activities; ensures health and safety of children.
• Maintain childcare center, rooms and play areas in a clean, orderly and safe condition; sets up rooms and areas for various activities such as lunch, naps, games, etc.
