The Assistant or Associate Planner administers mid-level to complex current and advanced planning activities, including serving as project manager for complex development applications and special projects. The incumbent administers specified activities in such areas as zoning, advance planning, and environmental impact studies, protection, and compliance, as well as the Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The Associate Planner provides information and assistance to property owners, developers, contractors, and the public, in addition to providing complex professional assistance to the Community Development Director, City Council, Planning Commission, and others in areas of expertise.

The successful candidate will have a great attitude, be a self-starter, detail-oriented, collaborative, capable of managing multiple projects and bringing them to completion, and serve as a contributing member of the planning team.

One position is available -- either Assistant Planner OR Associate Planner depending on qualifications and department needs.

Under the general supervision of the Planning and Building Director, the Building Inspector I/II is responsible for inspecting construction projects to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and applicable building codes and regulations. This role involves conducting all residential, resale and commercial inspections, investigating complaints, providing technical guidance to applicants, coordinating with external agencies, time limits of completion enforcement and assisting at the building counter. The position requires a high level of independence and discretion.

Sausalito Parks and Recreation is Seeking Vibrant Skilled Recreation Leaders 

This recruitment is for spring, summer and fall events and activities beginning March 9th, such as Bocce and Volleyball Referee, Jazz and Blues, Fourth of July, Chili Cook-off, A Toast to Sausalito, Halloween and other fun classes, activities, and events. Ideal candidates will be available to referee Monday through Thursday each week and/or to staff events on Friday evenings from June through August and occasional Saturdays. 

Pay: $16.90 - $17.90/ Hr.

The City of Sausalito is recruiting part-time temporary help for the spring, summer, and fall seasons of recreation activities and City-wide events.  The first of these is the Bocce League referee.  

Bocce Referee
As a Sausalito Parks and Recreation Bocce Referee, you are responsible for set-up, management, and cleanup of scheduled Bocce matches. You are the enforcer of rules, an impartial judge, and an advocate for fun and fair play, all while maintaining a positive attitude and providing a friendly environment when communicating with teams and keeping score. This position reports directly to the Recreation Supervisor.  The ideal candidate must meet all minimum requirements as listed below and be confident and capable of dealing with conflict and intense games.  

Event Staff

As a Sausalito Parks and Recreation Event Staff member, you are responsible for actively participating in set-up, cleanup, and management of your assigned event.  You must arrive on time and remain until the event leader releases you after the event.   Event staff may set up chairs, tables, stages, corridors, and barriers.  You may be asked to perform traffic control or direct drivers to parking.  The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, meet all of the minimum requirements below, remain calm under pressure and in the face of adversity, be cheerful, friendly, and love the diversity of people. 

The minimum requirements for the position are:

• Reliable transportation to and from games or events
• Ability and commitment to arrive on time and remain until duties are completed and you are released
• Confidence and capability to manage conflict with grace and calm
• Commitment to long hours, days, evenings, or on weekends depending on the assigned event schedule
• Must be 14 years of age or older and must obtain a WORK PERMIT if under 18
• Able to work independently
• Excellent people skills
• Strong ability to follow directions
• Ability to lift and carry 25lbs

The Town of Los Gatos is seeking an exceptional, highly skilled Executive Assistant to provide advanced administrative, project, and analytical support to the Town Manager and Town Council. This is a key position within the Town Manager’s Office, serving as a professional ambassador of the organization and ensuring smooth daily operations at the highest levels of Town leadership. Description: 

Under the general direction from the Recreation Supervisor, the Recreation Specialist – Camp is responsible for assisting the Recreation Supervisor to oversee the department’s Mill Valley Camp summer program and ensure the smooth operation of programming for Preschool to 6th Grade camp programs on-site. This position requires a high level of customer service, attention to detail, management of approximately 20-25 part-time staff, and evaluation and oversight of programs. 

The ideal candidate will have significant experience working in camp programs in a fast-paced and dynamic setting. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in early childhood education, recreation, or a related field with a minimum of two years of experience in delivering kindergarten, elementary and/or youth programming, etc. is preferred. 

Must be 18 years of age or older to apply for this position. This position requires a commitment through August 7, 2026.  

DEFINITION: Communicate with participants, part-time staff, and parents, coordinate camp schedules, plan and organize camp daily activities, program registrations, and overall program needs for the Preschool-6th grade Camp Thrill Valley programs. Hours are approximately 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday) while camp is in session from June 15 - August 7, 2026 and approximately 20-25 hours per week in preparation for the start of camp. Ideal start date is April 1, 2026. 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

• Facilitates camp activities for ages 18 months to 12 years old. 

• Organizes, implements, directs, supervises and/or promotes specific programs and activities. 

• Participates in the preparation and administration of assigned camp budgets. 

• Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. 

• Demonstrate excellent customer service and communicate effectively with staff, parents, and children. 

• Monitors the day-to-day operations of the camps, including assisting in administrative paperwork (health forms, swim lesson schedules), check-in and check-out of participants, setting up outdoor equipment, handling and resolving complaints not requiring the attention of a supervisor and ensuring that programs and events have required materials, staff, and supplies. 

• Assists in the evaluation of programming including conducting customer satisfaction surveys and analyzing reports on program effectiveness. 

• Enforces safety and operating procedures and provides for maintenance needs including compliance with health and safety codes. 

• Accurately maintain attendance records. 

• The ability to speak English clearly and understandably. 

• Perform related duties as required. 

• Must be able to lift 50lbs

The Police Communications Dispatcher receives and processes routine and emergency calls. The incumbent will dispatch police and enter, retrieve, and use data from various automated law enforcement information systems. The individual will perform a variety of clerical and technical duties in support of the department’s operations.
