The Department: The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center, and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

Position Details

Under close supervision, maintain constant watch over a public swimming pool facility to enforce regulations and prevent accident, assist swimmers in distress and provide emergency and routine first aid. DEFINITION: Under general supervision, provide personal fitness training to clients requesting service; maintain personal schedule at the front desk; enforce all rules and regulations pertaining to the safety and well being of all patrons; keep fitness floor tidy and clean. Perform related work as required, may include light cleaning and janitorial.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

• Train clients safely according to current industry standards and training.
• Offer and conduct free fitness floor orientations to new customers during Fitness Floor shifts.
• Learn basic operation instruction for fitness equipment and teach these techniques to visitors. Provide corrective feedback and proper technique.
• Maintain certain class records and reports as required.
• Ensuring that a safe and healthy environment exists for exercising. Monitor guests’ activities in the fitness center.
• Enforce all rules and regulations.
• Recognize and respond professionally to emergencies, provide care as indicated under the scope of training.
• Assume assigned duties connected with care and maintenance of the facility.
• Provide basic maintenance, equipment care.
• Deal tactfully and courteously with the public.

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Certified Personal Trainer required. Additionally, combination of education, training, and experience, that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
