The Information Systems Analyst III (ISA III) is a journey-level technical professional responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, and ongoing support of complex enterprise information systems. Infrastructure Services Unit (Position Code 365) 
Valley Water Telework Program: Eligibility for telework will depend on the type of work performed, operational needs, and the ability for the employee to perform the essential functions of their job duties while teleworking. Position Duties

The primary focus of this Sr. SAP position is to support the development and maintenance of several in-house hybrid systems hosted across both on-premises and cloud environments. Key responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following:

The position acts as a lead on debt administration and short-term debt issuances, and supports long-term debt issuances, cash management, and investments. The Senior Management Analyst is a financial analyst who works closely with internal and external partners to secure debt financing for capital projects, manage debt proceeds, report to investors, comply with legal covenants, manage daily cash flow and investments, and make regular debt service and fee payments.

• Supporting other Treasury functions, including daily cash management to account for incoming/outgoing cash, investment transactions and reporting, cash flow forecasting, and SymPro investment database maintenance. Responsibilities include using Infor ERP to process payments by check, ACH, and wire, and ensuring the security of these transactions from phishing and other cyber threats.
• Monitoring and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to the debt and investment portfolios. Assisting with financial analyses, budgeting, special projects, and ad-hoc requests. Developing unit efficiencies using AI tools.

POLICE OFFICER - Academy Graduate - $8,419 to $11,416 per month (up to $13,128 with incentives)

Maintenance Worker 2 - Street Maintenance Division

The Position

This position is part of the Food Waste Reduction team, which works to reduce food loss and waste while supporting soil health, local economies, and access to nutritious food.

This includes working with consultants and grantees, coordinating pilot projects, developing resources, supporting SB 1383 compliance, and directly engaging with local governments, businesses, schools, and community partners.

This role is ideal for someone who can manage projects independently while collaborating across teams and with external partners. The Program Manager I will take ownership of discrete program components, operating under the direction of a Senior Program Manager while supporting broader team initiatives.

The Senior Engineer, under the general direction of the Division Manager, leads and manages the New Development Review Team, overseeing the review and delivery of complex private development projects. This role ensures that development projects align with the City of San José’s and department’s transportation priorities, multimodal policies, and regulatory requirements.

The position provides technical leadership across the development review process and serves as a key liaison with internal partners, external stakeholders, and the public. As a unit lead, the Senior Engineer supervises staff, manages workload, and supports the consistent, high-quality implementation of City transportation policies and standards.

 

 

Position Duties

 

The Department of Transportation is currently seeking to fill 1 vacancy for the Senior Engineer position. Key responsibilities include: 

• Lead and manage the New Development Review Team, including supervising, mentoring, and providing technical guidance to engineering and technical staff.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of private development review—from entitlement through design and construction—ensuring timely, high-quality, and compliant project delivery.
• Plan, organize, direct, and participate in the review of development activity, including approximately:
  • 250+ development applications annually
  • 200+ improvement plans
  • 80+ traffic analysis reports
• Lead the review and approval of complex private development applications and public improvement plans, ensuring consistency with City standards, General Plan goals, and Complete Streets policies.
• Conduct and oversee technical review of roadway design, traffic signal modifications, streetscape improvements, and bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
• Review technical reports, traffic studies, and memorandums to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies.
• Manage and advance complex and high-profile development projects like Pleasant Hills Golf Course and LS Power, ensuring adherence to aggressive schedules and key milestones.
• Coordinate closely with internal partners, including Public Works (DPW) and Planning, Building, and Code Enforcement (PBCE), on development intake, design, and approval processes.
• Serve as a liaison across DOT sections and with external stakeholders, including developers, Council offices, community groups, and public agencies.
• Represent the Department at community meetings, Director’s Hearings, and Planning Commission meetings; present recommendations and address transportation-related concerns.
• Synthesize and coordinate input across departments to support timely decision-making and high-quality project outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with the City’s General Plan, multimodal policies, Complete Streets standards, and transportation design guidelines.
• Develop and review roadway design parameters and planlines for development projects; assign and monitor deadlines for in-house conceptual design tasks.
• Plan, implement, and monitor program activities, including workload distribution, performance metrics, and continuous process improvements.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of Citywide transportation design guidelines and standards.
