The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen) is seeking a self-motivated and highly experienced fleet professional to join our team as our next Fleet Services Program Manager! About the Position: The Fleet Services Program Manager will oversee the full cycle of our vehicle and equipment fleet, from budgeting and acquisition to maintenance, compliance, and replacement.  This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe, reliable, and sustainable fleet operations by managing contracts, developing specifications, coordinating repairs, and leading asset management strategies.  The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in fleet and equipment maintenance, proven experience with budgeting and program administration, skilled at ensuring regulatory compliance, and the ability to evaluate fleet needs and recommend cost effective solutions.

Education & Experience:

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

• Equivalent to an associate degree in fleet management, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field and
• Four (4) years of full-time experience in administration of a fleet or equipment maintenance program or facility, including at least one year at a lead or supervisory level.

Work Environment: This full-time position reports to the Facilities & Fleet Manager and is part of the Facilities & Fleet Department at Midpen’s Administrative Office in Los Altos, California. Midpen offers a hybrid office/telecommute work schedule for this position following successful onboarding and may be eligible for a 9/80 schedule.  To meet service needs, three days of working on-site is required per week – set days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the office. The Fleet Services Program Manager will often meet with Midpen staff in the district field offices.  Employees may work in the field and occasionally be exposed to loud noise levels, cold and hot temperatures, inclement weather conditions, or road hazards. Must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

SENIOR BUILDING INSPECTOR
Salary: $58.52 - $74.69 Hourly

Sunnyvale is a dynamic city in the heart of Silicon Valley. Construction activities continue to grow with a wide range of project types, including tech manufacturing, hazardous occupancies, single-family residential, and multistory mixed-use, multifamily, and commercial buildings.

Education and Experience:

The minimum qualifications for education and experience can be met in the following way:
An Associate's degree or 60 semester units or 90 quarter units in engineering technology, architecture, construction management or related field; AND
Four years of professional, full-time experience as a building inspector with a public agency, OR
Graduation from high school or tested equivalent; AND
Four years of professional, full-time experience as a building inspector with a public agency and two years as a licensed general contractor.

Licenses/Certificates:
Possession at time of hire and continued maintenance of a valid Class C California driver's license and a safe driving record.
Possession and continued maintenance of ICC Certifications:  Building Inspector (B1 and B2), Electrical Inspector (E1 and E2), Plumbing Inspector (P1 and P2), and Mechanical Inspector (M1 and M2).

The department is seeking to fill one (1) full-time Senior Power Resources Specialist position to support the Power Resources Division. This role reports to a Principal Power Resources Specialist and is part of a dynamic, fast-paced team responsible for procuring hundreds of megawatts of renewable energy projects, playing a key role in advancing the City’s clean energy goals.

This position will perform professional and technical civil engineering work in the design, construction and maintenance of public works facilities. The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a current vacancy in the Utilities Engineering Division of the Community Development Department, as well as establish an eligibility list for future vacancies.

They possess a solid understanding of engineering mathematics, surveying, drafting, and construction methods, and can read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents. At the Assistant Engineer level, the Ideal Candidate is an experienced civil engineer who works independently and exercises sound engineering judgment and initiative. This individual has experience with contract administration, capital improvement planning, and coordination across City departments, and may assist in supervising, training, and evaluating technical staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Assist in conducting preliminary studies of engineering projects and help prepare plans for public improvements such as streets, storm drains, sewers, water works, and other public projects. Supervise, coordinate and perform professional engineering work in the design and construction of, streets, sidewalks, water and sewage facilities, and drainage structures, and other public work. Review plans, maps, specifications, cost estimates, and other work for accuracy, presentation, and conformance with established engineering practices. Perform field inspections of public works construction projects, materials testing, survey work and calculations. Prepare preliminary drawings for public works projects, tabulate field data, design improvement plans, specifications, contracts, and other documents.  Make calculations in surveying and other construction work. Assist in preparation of long-range capital improvement programs and budgets. Prepare written staff reports for departmental use and/or presentation to the City Council and City Commissions. Respond to citizen complaints and questions. Assist with property development agreements Prepare plans and legal descriptions for right-of-way acquisition. Prepare reports and applications for State and Federal funding. Supervise, train and evaluate assigned staff. Perform related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Junior Engineer

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering.

Experience:
None required.

License or Certificate:

Experience:
Two (2) years of increasingly responsible work experience in civil engineering or a closely related field.
