The City of Dixon Fire Department is recruiting to fill current Firefighter/Paramedic vacancies as soon as possible and to establish an eligibility for future needs. To be considered eligible for this hiring and eligibility list, you must meet the following criteria:

• Pass the Firefighter Candidate Testing Center (FCTC) Entry Level Firefighter Written Exam and be placed on the FCTC Statewide Eligibility List.
• Possess a current, valid Cal-JAC CPAT Card issued within the last 12 months from date of application submission and ability to pass the City of Dixon's aerial ladder agility test.
• Possess a valid Firefighter 1 Academy certificate or California State Fire Marshal Firefighter 1 Certificate.
• Possess a current, valid California or National Registry Paramedic certification (note: persons possessing a National Registry Certification will be required to register as a California Paramedic prior to appointment).
• Valid California Class “C” Driver’s License with a clean driving record. Note: A DMV driving record will also be required to be submitted with your application.

The Dixon Fire Department offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for qualified applicants pursuing a career in fire safety.  The position performs fire prevention activities to save lives and property; responds to hazardous material incidents; responds to all fire alarms with designated company; prepares and operates the necessary equipment at the scene of the fire such as a hose, ladders, chemicals, bars, hooks, etc.; administers first aid to injured patrons; performs other acts required of a Firefighter at the scene of an emergency; carries out all duties assigned by Superior Officers.  Work involves irregular hours during the day and evenings, and on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

The City of Dixon is looking to fill one full-time, regular position of Accountant in the Finance Department. This position performs professional level accounting functions such as recording and reporting financial transactions, review of financial records; provides fiscal control for assigned areas of operation, preparation of financial report statements and analyzes. This is not a remote position and work schedule will be Monday through Friday, onsite.

Accountant - This classification is the entry level, mid-management position in the accounting series. Professional level work is performed, and incumbents are expected to perform the full range of accounting duties with minimal supervision. Successful performance in this position requires a thorough knowledge of governmental accounting procedures and the ability to exercise sound judgement within established guidelines.

SRFECC is preparing for a Dispatcher Academy, beginning September 2025! As a Dispatcher I, you will be a key player in the public safety network, managing both emergency and non-emergency calls. Your role involves receiving critical information, dispatching appropriate Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) resources, providing live-saving instructions, relaying facts, and ensuring effective communication throughout the incident. DEFINITION

Under the general direction of the Director and City Engineer, the Civil Engineering Associate/Project Manager – Capital Projects leads the delivery of complex capital infrastructure and facility projects for the Town of Danville.  This role focuses on high-value construction and modernization projects, including buildings, utilities, and public infrastructure. The position serves as a critical liaison between Town departments, consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders to ensure successful execution of capital projects within scope, schedule, and budget.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives direction from the Director and City Engineer. Exercises supervision over Public Works Inspectors and contractors.  This is a journeyman-level, first line supervisory position requiring substantial independent judgment, technical expertise, and leadership in managing capital improvement projects. The position reports to the City Engineer and may supervise professional and technical staff. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Essential duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Train, direct and manage Public Works Inspectors to perform and document daily inspections of construction projects, private development projects, encroachment permits and clean water inspections to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, permit conditions of approval and Town standards.
• Oversee day-to-day operations for paving construction projects ensuring project is completed safely, on schedule, according to quality specified and within budget.
• Plans, organizes, directs and controls all parts of projects from permitting, bidding, and construction to the closeout for a portfolio of complex capital improvement projects.
• Prepares and monitors project budgets, including support for obtaining funding.
• Facilitates work of a multi-disciplinary development team across organizational boundaries, including designers and construction professionals.
• Develops and maintains detailed project schedules and budgets, tracks expenditures, and recommends cost control strategies.
• Reviews and processes change orders, ensures quality control, and oversees contractor compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards.
• Prepares reports, presentations, and communications to inform internal and external stakeholders, including Town Council.
• Ensures that contractors are maintaining safe work sites and that the needs of the staff at each project are being protected.
• Coordinates final project closeout including punch list items, documentation, and transfer to operations.
• Manages consultant contracts and coordinates with engineers, architects, construction managers, and inspectors.
• Facilitates cross-departmental coordination and public outreach related to project scope, impacts, and progress.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

• Financing, estimating and budgeting, including planning and estimating, calculating overhead, design and construction costs.  General knowledge of various funding sources and restrictions.
• Regulations and regulatory agencies and commissions affecting planning, zoning, design and construction.
• Requirements of final bid packages.
• Construction management techniques and practices.
• Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibilities Guidelines (ADAAG), and California accessibility requirements that are in Title 24 of California Code of Regulations.
• Principles and practices of capital project delivery, including public procurement and contract management.
• Public works design and construction standards, codes, regulations, and funding programs.
• Construction methods and materials across civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical disciplines.
• CEQA and permitting processes at local and state levels.
• Knowledge of planning and building department review process for capital improvement projects.

Ability to:

• Schedule and budget capital projects; monitor and track project progress and expenditures and implement cost controls.
• Use computer-based scheduling software, documentation management, and project management systems.

The City is now accepting applications for the position of Management Analyst I/II. While the current opening is in the Public Works Department, applicants interested in this position in any department are strongly encouraged to apply. Management Analyst I/II is responsible for preparing and administering the department operating budget; managing and tracking purchasing; preparing written communication for executives and City Council; coordinating intra-departmental and departmental activities including public outreach; assisting with the development of various short- and long-term plans; supervising or leading administrative staff; and various special projects and duties as assigned. Citrus Heights Water District is seeking a Construction Inspector / Senior Construction Inspector to join our team. The selected candidate will be placed in either classification, depending upon the applicant’s qualifications.

• The Senior Construction Inspector is the journey-level class in the Construction Inspector series and is distinguished from the entry-level class by the assignment of the full range of duties.
