The City of San Mateo Public Works Department is seeking an Assistant/Associate Engineer for the Capital Improvement Plan Division. Candidates should be highly motivated, experienced, seek professional growth, and desire to lead and support in the delivery and review of various City projects.

As an Assistant/Associate Engineer, you would support our department’s mission to operate, maintain and improve the City’s infrastructure. Public Works is responsible for the maintenance, repair, cleaning, and construction of sewer and storm conveyance systems, wastewater treatment plant, streets, streetlights, traffic signals, active transportation infrastructure, publicly owned parking lots and garages, pump stations, a major lagoon, and dams and levees. Our department also reviews plans and inspects the construction of public improvements to serve new private residential, commercial, and industrial developments, and administers contracts for the collection, disposal, and recycling of solid waste. Public Works is also responsible for the City’s review and management of right-of-way impacts associated with private development and traffic operations.

What You’ll Do:

The Assistant/Associate Engineer will help support efforts to accomplish short and long-term project deliveries, while sustaining the City’s mission, vision, and goals. The position is considered for the following field of interest:

• The Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) Division’s key assignments include planning, designing, reviewing, and preparing detailed engineering plans, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, contracts, and related documents for a variety of capital improvement projects. Roles include project manager and construction manager, with duties that include leading coordination meetings, interfacing with construction contractors, outside engineering firms, construction inspectors, and other public agencies.

San Mateo Medical Center is seeking well-qualified candidates for the position of Occupational Therapist II.  
Currently, there is one full-time, limited-term vacancy and two Extra-Help, part-time, vacancies. These positions will plan and provide occupational therapy services for acutely ill or rehabilitative patients in an outpatient and/or inpatient setting.
Occupational Therapist II is the experienced journey level class in this series. Incumbents in this class perform the full range of general therapy treatments with a greater degree of independence and proficiency, additionally applying more specialized and advanced therapy treatments. Some individuals may also assist in providing technical advice and training to less experienced staff.
The ideal candidate has graduated from an accredited occupational therapy curriculum and is licensed as an Occupational Therapist by the California Board of Occupational Therapy and registered with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. They will also possess a Certificate of completion for a course in Basic Life Support as approved by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Additionally, the incumbent will have experience in working with adults, skilled nursing, and acute care.  Fluency in Spanish is preferred, but not required. Education and Experience:

Occupational Therapist II: One year of supervised experience in occupational therapy.

Knowledge of:

• Principles and methods of occupational therapy, as applicable to all types of cases found in a general hospital providing acute care or in a rehabilitative center.
• Physical and psychological problems of physically disabled, aged, gero-psychiatric and chronically ill patients.
• Principles of splint design and fabrication.
• Use and care of therapeutic tools and equipment commonly used in occupational therapy.
• Professional ethics and the fundamental laws of practice for occupational therapy.

Skill/Ability to:

• Administer and document occupational therapy treatments.
• Assess patient needs, analyze situations accurately and implement an effective plan of action.
• Adapt equipment to patient needs.

San Mateo Medical Center and its clinics are currently seeking well-qualified candidates for Physical Therapist II to provide outpatient and/or inpatient services at San Mateo Medical Center - Main Campus in San Mateo, CA. Currently, there is a Limited-Term, Full-Time vacancy and an Extra-Help, part-time vacancy. 

These positions would provide outpatient and/or inpatient services physical therapy evaluations and treatments for a variety of orthopedic and neurologic conditions.

Physical Therapists manage patients with a wide range of diagnoses, chronic and acute, and are part of a dynamic treatment team. In addition, Physical Therapists identify patient challenges and develop goals and a care plan with reasonable outcomes for the individual's life/work settings. Daily opportunities are created in this assignment through the variety of illnesses/injuries seen in our patient population.

Physical Therapists work at SMMC as part of a County rehabilitation program, which provides evaluation, education and treatment. The therapeutic program at SMMC is oriented toward inpatients and outpatients with acute and chronic problems while providing therapy to inpatients with a need for long or short-term rehabilitation.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of one year of work experience providing care in an outpatient setting with an interest in covering inpatient when the census justifies. Ability to work weekends and/or holiday coverage when necessary is also strongly preferred. New or recent graduates with independent outpatient physical therapy work experience or internships are encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Do

The Deputy Director of Public Works is responsible for directing and managing all programs within the Section for which they are responsible, includes capital improvement program development and implementation, traffic engineering, private development review, asset management, construction management, fleet coordination, downtown coordination and building maintenance; and the position may serve as the City Engineer.

Monday/Wednesday - 9am-11:15pm (2 year olds)

Tuesday/Thursday - 9:15am-11:30am (2 year olds)

Monday/Wednesday/Friday - 8:45am-12:15pm (3 year olds)

Tuesday/Thursday - 12:30pm-3:30pm (3 year olds)

Summer Camp (June-August)

Monday- Friday - 9am-12pm (3-4 year olds)

 

Work Schedule:                    

8-20 Hours a week

Maximum of 960 hours per fiscal year

Salary:                   

$23.27-$28.82 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.

The City of Belmont Human Resources Department is seeking a collaborative, innovative, enthusiastic individual with great interpersonal skills to join the Human Resources team as a Human Resources Management Analyst.  The candidate may be hired at the Management Analyst I or II level depending on experience.

Salary:  Management Analyst I - $8,022.41 - $10,238.87 per month

              Management Analyst II - $8,737.78 - $11,151.85 per month

The Human Resources Management Analyst will serve as a business partner to departments for a variety of Human Resources programs and projects including recruitment, job analysis, training and development and benefit administration.

This position researches and analyzes human resources practices and procedures and makes recommendations for organizational, operational, policy, and procedural improvements; conducts needs analyses, feasibility studies, and evaluations for assigned projects and programs; provides consulting services to City management and staff regarding all aspects of human resources programs and activities; fosters cooperative working relationships among City departments; and performs related duties as assigned.

Experience
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible human resources experience, preferably in local government or comparable agency

Education

Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with course work in public administration, human resources and or closely related field.
