The City of Sunnyvale is seeking two Senior Applications Analysts in the Information Technology Department. These positions are intended for support and enhancements of our Oracle Cloud ERP & HCM applications. In addition the positions will assume primary and secondary support roles for multiple enterprise systems including system configuration, reporting and interfaces, day-to-day operational issues, break/fix, configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and on-call rotations.

The ideal candidate will have experience with supporting HCM or Financial systems, preferably an integrated ERP/HCM system, ideally Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications.  Our Oracle Cloud ERP modules include General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Procure to Pay, Inventory Management, Accounts Receivable and Project Portfolio Management, and HCM includes Core HR, Benefits, Absence, Time and Labor and Payroll; the position will provide a strong techno-functional foundation to other team members.  The candidate we seek will be detail-oriented, able to create and edit documentation, and understand technical complexities involved in functional configuration, integration, interface, and report development with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with end users.

Work Schedule: The position is eligible for Telework, up to 2 days per week, after a 6-month mandatory onsite work schedule.  The Telework schedule is subject to approval from the department head as permitted by City policy and practice.

The City of Sunnyvale is recruiting for the position of Business Systems Analyst, Confidential. The Business Systems Analyst assigned to this role will provide complex analytical support for the maintenance and/or enhancement of the City’s Oracle ERP system. They will serve as a functional expert and a liaison between the Human Resources Department, business users, Information Technology Department Staff, vendors, and service providers. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide lead and consultation on the HRIS system and continued maintenance.  We are looking for an organized, detail oriented, and collaborative individual with great interpersonal skills. About the Position:  The Farm Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and construction tasks at Deer Hollow Farm in the Rancho San Antonio Open Space Preserve and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. Deer Hollow Farm is an educational, working farm with cows, pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, and other livestock.  Duties include performing maintenance and construction tasks using hand and power tools, operating and maintaining Farm vehicles, and assisting with daily Farm operations. The Farm Maintenance Worker will also assist with basic support and care of animals; greet visitors and provide information to the public; and work with volunteers on farm-related projects. DESCRIPTION:

The Department:

The Santa Clara Fire Department was established in 1854 when local residents formed the Columbia Hose Volunteer Fire Company. Today, the city has 9 fire stations (one more in design process) consisting of 8 engines, 2 trucks, 1 rescue/light unit, 1 hazardous materials unit, 1 ambulance and 2 command vehicles. The fire department is comprised of 175 personnel staffed across five divisions and serves a population of approximately 130,000 people spread over 18.4 square miles.  The Fire Administration Division provides management, organization, and support for the various divisions of the fire department actively engaged in the protection of life and property.  The Emergency Medical Services Division is responsible for training personnel to deliver pre-hospital emergency medical services to people who live, work and visit in Santa Clara.  The Community Risk Reduction Division is primarily responsible for fire safety education, fire cause determination, inspection of high hazard occupancies, and fire code enforcement. This division also maintains a vital role as technical consultant to the fire department, the City, and the business community, advising on site construction, process installation, and the safe use and handling of hazardous materials as outlined in federal, state, and local regulations. The Field Operations Division efficiently manages over 11,000 emergency responses annually.  The Training Division provides services to the Fire Department, other City departments, industry, and the community at large.

The Position:

Firefighter I is the entry level classification in the Firefighter series. An incumbent in this classification responds to medical emergencies, fire alarms, performs rescue services, and protects life and property endangered by fire. When qualified and assigned, Firefighter I's may be assigned to paramedic duties. Performs related duties as assigned.

License/Certifications:

• A valid National Registry or State of California Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certificate or proof of course enrollment in a valid EMT program is required at time of application.  Upon appointment to the classification, a valid National Registry or State of California Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certificate is required to be possessed and maintained as a condition of employment.
• A valid California Firefighter Joint Apprenticeship Committee (CFFJAC) Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) card issued within 6 months prior to the date of a conditional offer of employment
• Successful completion of a City of Santa Clara approved Fire Academy is required within 6 months of appointment
• Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license is required at time of appointment. A valid California Class C driver's license with Firefighter endorsement is required within 24 months of appointment 
• All of the listed licenses and certifications must be maintained as a condition of continued employment in this classification for as long as they are required

Desirable Qualifications:

• Demonstrated proficiency in a second language, in accordance with the City's needs
• Military experience, journey-level status in the building construction trades, or other work experience relevant to the fire service
• Community service experience
• Completion of thirty (30) or more units of coursework in Fire Science/Technology at an accredited college
• An associate's or higher-level degree from an accredited college or university
• Possession of a valid California Paramedic (EMT-P) license (required prior to appointment to a Paramedic assignment)
• A valid California Class A or B commercial driver's license

Other Requirements:  

• Typically assigned to a 56-hour workweek (24-hour shifts); may be assigned to a 40-hour workweek as required
• May be required to work odd and unusual hours, including weekends and designated holidays and to be subject to call-back in the performance of job duties
• Must be able to perform all of the essential functions of the job assignment

Physical Requirements:

• At least 21 years of age 
• Able to distinguish primary colors (red, green, amber), each eye free of any abnormal condition or disease which might affect performance of job duties, visual acuity in each eye of at least 20/50 vision (uncorrected) and 20/30 (corrected), and normal night vision

Are you a bright, motivated, and skilled Management Analyst professional who values the preservation of open space and public access to preserves?  Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District is recruiting a highly qualified Management Analyst II to support Midpen’s mission of open space preservation, natural resource protection, and ecologically-sensitive public access.  This position will support Midpen’s Land Stewardship & Trails Department by providing day-to-day finance, purchasing, project tracking, budgetary support and will make recommendations for organizational policy and procedural improvements.  In addition, this position will assess staff training needs, recommend appropriate training solutions to management, and track training attendance and completion. The start date for this position is early-November 2025.

About the Position: The Land Stewardship & Trails Department is Midpen’s largest department with over 70 employees during construction season. As such, this position requires constant communication and alignment with team members and stakeholders.  This position reports to the Land Stewardship & Trails Manager and has direct supervision over one Administrative Assistant. This position plays a key role in supporting the Land Stewardship & Trails Manager with strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations.  The ideal candidate has solid public sector finance, budget, purchasing, project tracking, and asset management experience; possesses excellent judgment, curiosity, and proactive problem solving and time management skills; and can successfully manage many priorities at once while accomplishing professional-level administrative and program work. The successful candidate is detail-oriented yet can see the broader perspective; has a proven ability to build positive and productive relationships; possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and provides excellent customer service.  Flexibility and the capacity to work in a complex and fast-paced environment are a must. The selected individual will also perform professional-level work in such areas as: budget & analysis, database management, staff training, and plays a key role in the procurement of capital equipment, supplies and services, and support of contract development and administration. Work Environment: This full-time position is part of the Land Stewardship & Trails Department at Midpen’s Administrative Office in Los Altos, California. Midpen offers a hybrid office/telecommute work schedule for this position following successful onboarding. A minimum of three days on-site in the office is required per week. This is primarily a sedentary office classification.  Must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Some fieldwork may be required, which involves the ability to walk for short distances over rough terrain, drive vehicles over unimproved roads, and stand for extended periods.

Education and Experience:

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business administration, public administration, or a related field and three (3) years of professional analytical experience equivalent to a Management Analyst I at the District. Public sector experience is preferred and previous supervisory experience is desirable.

Licenses & Certifications Required:   Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
