Under direct supervision of the Pool Supervisor, the Lifeguard has the responsibility to enforce the safety standards, rules, and regulations of the City’s Pool program; to rescue swimmers in distress and administer First Aid and CPR when it is needed; This position includes ensuring the safety of all pool patrons, be alert of all activities in and around the pool while on duty and to assist with general maintenance and cleanup activities and performs related work as required.  Work is performed in a swimming facility environment, with frequent contact with City staff and the public.  Multiple Lifeguard positions are available.

Class Characteristics
Deputy Director of Public Works – City Engineer is a Deputy Director level engineering classification responsible for overseeing the City’s engineering functions and performing a wide variety of engineering duties requiring independent judgement and initiative in prioritizing, scheduling, assigning and coordinating work. This class requires registration as a professional engineer. This class is distinguished from all other engineering classes by its supervisory and administrative responsibilities over a wide range of duties as well as the requirement to perform the more complex engineering and project management assignments. This position receives general supervision from the assigned Director and will be considered a position that carries dual responsibilities. The selected candidate will exercise direct supervision over park maintenance workers, janitorial staff, and support service personnel.  He/she will be a working supervisor who provides leadership and direction to assigned staff while also functioning as a skilled tradesperson who is able to take the lead and fill in as needed, in any section of Parks and Facilities.

As Parks Supervisor, the incumbent directs and coordinates park maintenance employees and supports service crews.  

• He/she will oversee, coordinate and/or lead park and facilities personnel, support service crews, and park maintenance crews.
• Schedules and directs the work of assigned parks maintenance personnel, including ensuring parks and facilities are properly prepared for rentals and reservations.
• Works with crews to assure accuracy and compliance with City standards.
• Submits weekly logs of work in progress and jobs completed by crews.
• Responds to public complaints regarding parks projects through proper channels and informs appropriate staff of City standards and policies.

As Facility Supervisor, the incumbent directs and coordinates maintenance, repair, and upkeep of City buildings and facilities, and supervises janitorial staff responsible for the cleaning and sanitizing of City buildings and facilities.

• Performs a variety of work in the maintenance, construction, alteration, and repair of City buildings and facilities; identifies and corrects building and equipment problems to maintain facilities in a safe condition, prevent degradation of City property, and prevent failures that would cause reduction in service.
• Performs skilled work across multiple building trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC, welding, and related crafts to maintain and repair City buildings, structures, and equipment.
• Inspects City buildings and structures to identify repair needs; evaluates conditions and recommends appropriate corrective action or modifications to meet City standards and building codes.
• Obtains estimates and quotes for materials and equipment needed for repairs and completion of job tasks; prepares reports of inspections and labor and material estimates for the Director.
• Supervises janitorial staff responsible for cleaning and sanitizing City buildings, facilities, and park restrooms; ensures facilities are properly prepared for rentals and reservations; monitors service standards and schedules.
• Performs general maintenance and janitorial duties as needed.
• Installs, programs, and maintains security camera systems at City buildings, parks, and facilities to ensure proper coverage and functionality.
• Performs and schedules preventative maintenance on City buildings, facilities, and equipment to minimize deterioration and reduce the need for costly repairs.
• Remains current on job-specific expertise through trade publications, vendor communication, and other sources to keep abreast of the latest technological developments and products.

Solving Problems and Performance of Others: Troubleshoots and resolves non-routine maintenance and repair issues across parks and building systems and independently determines appropriate corrective action. Supervises parks maintenance workers, janitorial staff, and support service personnel and performs building and facilities repair and maintenance work independently.
 

Relations: Internally works with supervisors, other construction and maintenance personnel, and all City departments. Externally represents the city and communicates with various outside agencies.

The City of Stockton Human Resources Department is seeking a Program Manager III who will be responsible for managing the department’s budget, contracts, compiling and analyzing data, as well as preparing reports in support of division operations, departmental initiatives, and labor negotiations. The San Mateo County Controller's Office is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Application Support Analyst III.

The Controller’s Office

The mission of the Controller’s Office of San Mateo County is to promote the County's operational effectiveness and ensure its financial transparency and integrity by providing quality accounting, audit, and financial reporting services.
   
The Controller's Office maintains the County’s accounting system and records, and prepares independently audited, award-winning annual financial reports (ACFR and PAFR) that disclose the financial condition of the County to the public. We are staffed with 51 full-time accounting, audit, and information systems professionals. The office also calculates annual property tax bill amounts, distribute taxes collected to local government agencies, and performs internal audits of the County’s operations.
  
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Controller’s Information Systems (CIS) team to support various mission-critical applications for the County as they pertain to finance, expense reimbursements, timekeeping, as well as support Countywide system integrations.  
  
As an Application Support Analyst III, you will leverage your systems expertise to collaborate and consult with colleagues within the Controller’s Office and other County fiscal and/or technical staff and resolve issues related to the systems, improve business processes by recommending and implementing solutions within the systems, process requests such as report and integrations development, and maintain application security at both an authentication and application access level.  
  
This role will entail hands-on support, administration, configuration, and maintenance of multiple related financial systems, including Finance Enterprise by CentralSquare for general accounting, Coupa for accounts payable and vendor onboarding, and Workday Expense for employee expense reimbursements.  
 
While the ideal candidate has experience in all of these systems, we are also accepting candidates who have experience and expertise in at least one of the aforementioned systems but can demonstrate transferable skills to learn the other systems and applications.
   

The ideal candidate will also have:

• 5+ years of proven application support and administration experience, preferably in Finance Enterprise, Coupa, and/or Workday Expense.
• A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Management of Information Systems, Information Technology, or an equivalent field of study is preferred.
• Proven experience leading end-to-end small to medium-sized application projects and implementing solutions for operational improvements and automation.
• Knowledge of VB Script, SQL, and Cognos (or other reporting platform).

First-time external new hires, or current staff promoted internally or from other County departments into a regular Clinical Nurse-Case Management position in San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) may be eligible to receive a sign-on bonus of up to $30,000 (subject to discontinuation at any time). The sign-on bonus will be in 3 phases and will be prorated for part-time. 

The Case Management Nurse -Utilization Review will manage patient admission and ongoing stay reviews for patients with chronic or complicated medical conditions and oversee appeals with third-party payors. The incumbent will be responsible for retrospective and concurrent Utilization Review activities and for monitoring order status accuracy, documentation, and clinical compliance, in accordance with State and Federal regulations. In conjunction with other members of the health care team, the Case Management Nurse is accountable for timely coordination of quality health care services to meet the patient's health care needs across the continuum of care. This position requires knowledge of the adult, and geriatric populations.
 
The ideal candidate will possess one or more of the following:

• At least two years of recent, direct, and proven experience in Nurse Case Management in an acute care setting or at least two years of acute care hospital nursing experience. 
• At least two years of experience with industry published standard level of care (i.e. InterQual or Milliman, etc.).
• InterQual interpretation and application of health industry utilization review criteria
• Experience providing the full range of Case Management nursing duties and responsibilities
• Ability to conduct daily Utilization Reviews to assess whether patients meet medical necessity criteria
• Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams to collaborate on appropriate level of care based on Utilization Review outcomes
• A Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
• Experience working with diverse, underserved populations.

Examples Of Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Identify problem situations or patient care issues; analyze, interpret, advise and consult with staff and other health care professionals to ensure patient order status reflects the correct level of care. 
• Conduct daily Utilization Reviews to assess whether patient meets medical necessity criteria.  Collaborate with the Clinical Services Manager II and Physician Advisor to support accurate determinations.
• Communicate utilization review findings to the Attending Provider when patients do not meet medical necessity criteria  
• Partner with the Attending Provider to review and determine the appropriate level of care based on Utilization Review outcomes.
• Interpret and modify the system of patient care delivered by evaluating and reviewing standard practices and initiating new procedures.
• Provide consultation and guidance to providers to understand and ensure appropriate care is provided based on patient level of care needs.
• Advise the nursing staff in the establishment and maintenance of records of treatments given and the related progress of each patient for the purpose of analyzing patterns, synthesizing actions and evaluating patient care plans. 
• Resolve unusual or unique patient care problems or situations, which require analytical, interpretative and constructive thinking.
• Formulate and develop plans, procedures and program content designed to meet specifically identified training/educational needs of nursing staff.
• Formulate, and/or collaborate with other health care practitioners to identify relevant clinical problems and conduct research to bring about their resolution. 
• Evaluate nursing research literature and own research findings for implementation and incorporation as appropriate, into patient care activities.
