Under the direction of the Public Works Director/City Engineer, this position provides high-level engineering services for the City of Mill Valley. The Supervising Senior Engineer provides professional and technical assistance to the Public Works Director, manages municipal engineering staff and may act on behalf of the Director as assigned.

The City of Sunnyvale is recruiting for a Groundsworker in for their Public Works Department. The current Groundsworker position is responsible for unskilled and routine semiskilled tasks in concrete work, construction or maintenance labor and will be responsible for street maintenance and sidewalk maintenance, and/or in the maintenance of landscaped areas in the public right-of-way.
The position will be responsible for Development Engineering. The selected candidate will work with developers and their engineers reviewing proposed development plans, issuing “will-serve” letters, determining development conditions and creating development agreements on all development projects within the City. The engineer will insure that public improvements meet all City standards. Experience either as a municipal development engineer or as a consultant working on development projects is desirable. The position will be filled at one of the following levels:
Under general supervision, to perform a variety of skilled manual tasks; to operate light and heavy equipment; specialized and technical equipment; and perform related work as required for Facility Maintenance repairs and projects. This is the next level class above Facilities Maintenance Worker II. Works independently on assignments which require skills and experience in Facilities Maintenance. Uses specialized equipment to perform duties. May be assigned to various divisions.

Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications for the Electrician’s Assistant position may be considered for employment as an Intern. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Temporary/Part-Time employees work no more than 130 hours per month and 960 hours per Fiscal Year.
