Are you passionate about aquatics and love working with youth? The City of Mill Valley is looking for a highly motivated, reliable, and skilled professional to join our team as a Recreation Specialist working in the swim lesson division. In this part-time role, you will play a key part in providing safe, fun, and engaging swim lessons and aquatic programs for swimmers through the City's Recreation Department. You'll be joining a service-oriented, team environment, dedicated to promoting water safety, skill development, and positive experiences in our aquatics programs.
Position Details:
- Part-Time, Non-Benefited
- Schedule: 17-20 hours per week (limited to 1,000 hours per fiscal year)
- Location: City of Mill Valley Aquatics & Fitness Center
- Minimum Age to Apply: 18 years old
Ideal Candidate
- Have at least 3 years experience teaching swim lessons to youth of varying ages and skill levels
- Be energetic, dependable, and enthusiastic about working in a recreational aquatics setting
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Have current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and preferably American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) or equivalent (or be willing to obtain)
- Available to work one of these shifts:
- Sunday 8:45-1:45pm AND Monday-Wednesday 3:00-7:00pm schedule Or
- Tuesday- Friday 3-7pm AND Saturday 8:45-1:45pm
