Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: • Five years of increasingly responsible experience as a professional librarian in a local government agency, at least three of which was in a supervisory capacity, managing the work of library programs. • Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited college or university supplemented by training in management principles and practices or an equivalent advanced degree in Management, Business, Public Policy or related field.
