Candidates must submit a completed CalOpps Application or a City of Chowchilla job application, a completed supplemental questionnaire, a resume, and cover letter, along with copies of any additional required documents by the deadline date and time.
An appraisal to determine an applicant’s education, experience, and personal qualifications will be scheduled for those applicants who meet the minimum qualifications. The appraisal may be administered either by written examination, oral interview, performance test, or any combination as determined by the City of Chowchilla to be appropriate. Those applicants selected to take the eligibility test will be required to bring a completed personal history statement to testing. Successful applicants from the appraisal will be placed on an eligibility list that is valid for one year. The final portion of the selection process includes an interview with the Chief of Police and may include the City Administrator.
