The City of Fremont's Public Works Department is recruiting for:
Engineering Technician I/II (Development)
The Department
The Engineering Division delivers public infrastructure projects such as streets, storm drains, and City buildings. The team plans, reviews, designs, surveys, acquires property, manages construction, and provides inspection services. These projects are carried out through the City’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and private development.
The Ideal Candidate
The City is seeking a self-motivated individual who is knowledgeable in engineering terminology and demonstrates a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate should be comfortable engaging with residents, developers, and other stakeholders - responding to inquiries, explaining processes clearly, and helping customers with professionalism, patience, and a service-oriented approach. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. A successful candidate may also possess a working knowledge of the private land development process and be able to assist staff engineers in reviewing public and private street improvement plans, encroachment permit plans, and grading and drainage plans.
