Description

We’re looking for skilled, calm‑under‑pressure communicators who are passionate about public safety to join our team as 911 Police Dispatchers. If you thrive in fast‑paced environments and want a career where your work truly makes a difference, this is the role for you!

                                    POSITION DETAILS:

  • Salary range: $29.96 - $38.24 hourly 
    • 3% Cost of Living adjustment increase effective 7/13/26
    • 3% Cost of Living adjustment increase effective 7/12/27
      • Salary placement is generally at the beginning of the range.
      • Advanced placement may be considered based on related education and experience.
    • NOTE: The City recently completed a compensation study comparing its salary ranges with those of other local agencies. As a result, 87% of salary ranges will be adjusted upward at various intervals. As ranges are adjusted, job postings will be updated to reflect these changes.

  • Status: Full-time regular position
  • Work Schedule: 4/10 (four 10-hour shifts), rotating every four months

  • Requirements: Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays

                            MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Education/Training:

  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Additional specialized training in communications or a related field is desirable. 

Experience:

  • One year of 911 Dispatcher Operator experience

License or Certificate:

  • Possession of a Peace Officer’s Standards and Training (POST) Basic Public Safety Dispatcher Certificate within the probationary period.

                             SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be 18 years of age as of the date of hire.
  • A United States citizen or meet citizenship requirements.
  • Be of good moral character with no felony convictions.
