Position Duties
The Department of Transportation is currently seeking to fill multiple vacancies for the Parking & Traffic Control Supervisor (PTCO) position. The Parking and Traffic Control Supervisor is responsible for the management of the parking control program and coordinates parking control services. The position is responsible for the supervision of Sr. PTCOs and PTCOs who are directly engaged in the enforcement of vehicle and parking codes and regulations, patrolling assigned areas, issuing citations, impounding vehicles, and directing vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
Additional responsibilities of the PTCO Supervisor may include, but are not limited to:
- Representing DOT in meetings with inside and outside stakeholders and plan and coordinate field work with outside vendors and contractors.
- Managing vendor contract and supervise staff.
- Developing enforcement strategies and directing analysis of operational data to improve program effectiveness.
- Prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff training and development; and making hiring, disciplinary, and status change recommendations.
- Coordinating parking program service deliveries with other City departments, external partners, and members of the public.
May be assigned to work rotational shifts on a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week schedule, including holidays, and may be requires to work overtime in support of operational needs or special events, while performing related duties on a rotational basis consistent with the scope and level of the classification.
