Currently, the Parks, Beaches and Recreation Department has an exciting opportunity for customer service orientated individuals to join our team as a Lifeguard within our Aquatics Division.

This is a part-time, at-will, non-benefited position. Hours are limited to less than 1,000 hours per year.
Ideal Candidate
WHAT DOES A LIFEGUARD DO?
Lifeguards patrol and oversee the activities in and around the community swimming pool, enforce regulations to prevent accidents, provide first aid and respond to emergencies and rescue swimmers in distress.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a minimum of 15 years of age.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers.
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent is desirable, college is highly desirable.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATES
LIFEGUARD I
Possession of an American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificate within one (1) month of appointment.
Possession of a Standard First Aid and CPR for the Professional Certificate within one (1) months of appointment.
American Red Cross Title 22 Certificate within one (1) year of appointment.
NOTE: Based on department approval, equivalent certifications may be accepted.
Failure to obtain any of the required certificates within the prescribed time may result in release from probation and termination.
LIFEGUARD II
Possession of an American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificate at time of appointment.
Possession of a Standard First Aid and CPR for the Professional Certificate at time of appointment.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience
American Red Cross Title 22 Certificate within one (1) year of appointment.
NOTE: Based on department approval, equivalent certifications may be accepted.
