City of Pacifica is accepting enthusiastic applications for the position of Building Attendant
The City of Pacifica’s Parks, Beaches & Recreation Department is currently recruiting for the position of Building Attendant to assist with the Pacifica Community Center.
DEFINITION: Provides physical set-up arrangements for classes, meetings, activities, public and private functions in community buildings, assures security of buildings, provides public information about recreation activities. This is a part-time, non-benefited position
IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Retrieves, moves, sets up, cleans, removes and returns to storage all chairs, tables and equipment within a variety of locations. Locks buildings and internal storage facilities; provides department coverage during evening and weekend hours; provides phone assistance and public information. Removes and disposes of trash from facilities, updates public announcement board, provides occasional maintenance of fields and parks and recreation facilities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift and move chairs, tables and equipment up to 40 lbs.; work under minimal direct supervision; work flexible hours; remain calm and use good judgment in difficult and emergency situations; provide courteous public service; drive a car/van to other city facilities.

SALARY AND HOURS:
Building Attendant: $16.50 - $23.50 per hour, depending on experience.
Hours will range from 4 to 20 hours per week with availability during weekdays and varying hours on weekends.
BENEFITS: This is a part-time position with paid sick leave. There are no other benefits available with this position.

SELECTION PROCESS:
Applications will be screened and those meeting the minimum qualifications will be invited to the oral panel interview and/or group interview. Selected candidates must pass a fingerprint check submitted to the Department of Justice. If under the age of 18, selected candidates will need to provide a current work permit at the time of appointment.
