Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Senior Information Systems Manager, this position provides system support during implementation and ongoing support after implementation including report writing, configuration, routine inquiries and user support for the District’s various enterprise technology systems including UKG Pro Workforce Management Time & Attendance and Central Square Technologies Finance Enterprise.   The Business Information Systems Engineer works with end-users, vendors, and members of the Information Systems Department to identify, analyze, and resolve systems issues and provide maximum capability and satisfaction to users.

Essential Responsibilities

• Serves as a technical lead of the enterprise application
• Focused on delivering excellent customer service
• Adhere to incident, problem, change management, and other Information Systems best practices
• Plan, organize, direct and coordinate the ongoing automation and usage of the district-wide application systems
• Develop and maintain user and technical knowledge of application systems
• Serve as the liaison between application system users, vendor provided help desk as well as the Information Systems Department
• Plan, co-ordinate and test system upgrades
• Fulfill users various data mining requests
• Support the various large interface integrations between the application systems and fixing data problems that occur in these interfaces
• Develop and provide user training for all modules of the systems
• Writes user documentation, provides user information, procedures, and training materials in a variety of formats as needed
• Develops a knowledge base of problem symptoms and solutions to improve the timeliness of problem resolution
• Identify unused system functionality and present opportunities for improvement of business processes using this functionality
• Continue to monitor and stay current on new features contained in new releases of the software
• Recommend and implement software upgrade paths
• Develop relationships with other agency users of the applications
• Maintains strong technical competence in Microsoft Office products such as Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, and PowerPoint
• Other duties as assigned at the direction of the Information Systems Manager
• Know and follows the safety and health rules and safe working practices applicable to the job

The Recreation Specialist is a unique position that is primarily responsible for specific projects or long term projects requiring relevant knowledge and expertise.

• Coordinate all aspects of a project
• Set up and maintain project files or computer databases as required
• Provide regular project updates including written reports to project leader in a timely manner

Currently we have one Full-time Regular vacancy for a Spanish Speaking Psychiatric Social Worker or Marriage and Family Therapist in Daly City. Experienced clinicians and those looking to gain experience are encouraged to apply.

 

The outpatient clinician will provide specialty outpatient mental health services to adults living in the Northern regions of San Mateo County. The target population are adults 18 years of age and older presenting with a serious mental illness and severe functional impairments. Principal duties will include assessment and diagnosis, care coordination, case management, group and individual psychotherapy, crisis intervention and rehabilitation services. The Clinician will provide treatment in an outpatient clinic setting.

 

The ideal candidates will possess: 

• A current license as either a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Marriage and Family Therapist;
• Solid clinical treatment, assessment, diagnostic and evaluation skills;
• Knowledge of principles, techniques and trends in counseling, psychotherapy, clinical case management, crisis management and various treatment modalities;
• Experience/interest in providing treatment for adults with serious mental illness;
• Experience/interest in delivering services to adults who have co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders;
• Experience/interest in delivering services in specialty areas for adults and older adults and/or transitional age youth;
• Excellent documentation skills: progress notes, assessments, client care plans, etc.;
• Demonstrated expertise, skill and interest in working with a broad range of clients of diverse cultures and backgrounds, such as Latino, Pacific Islander, African American, and LGBTQ, and an ability to provide culturally appropriate and proficient services;
• Skill in establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with families, co-workers, other professionals, collaborative partners and the public;
• Extensive knowledge of/interest in learning the available community resources within the County of San Mateo and its neighboring counties;

Licensure/Certification

Position Summary

Under general direction of the Secretary of the District, performs complex and highly analytical work for the Secretary of the District, members of the Board of Directors and associated committees.   Departmental lead on government tort claims, legal documents and communications and participating in complex, sensitive, and detailed analytical work in the areas of budgets, historical preservation and economic, regulatory and administrative policy. Provides internal customer service by assisting managers and executive level staff in complex analysis.  This position requires a high degree of accuracy, discretion, confidentiality, excellent communication skills, and robust customer service skills. 
 

Essential Responsibilities

 

• Serves as the primary analytical support to the District Secretary;
• Interprets meeting proceedings and prepares draft meeting minutes, with minimal oversight and as assigned, may attend meetings in the absence of the District Secretary;
• Performs legal functions of the office and guidance to office staff in the absence of the District Secretary;
• Performs a wide variety of complex legal analysis, research and briefings about claims for the District, Bridge, Bus and Ferry Divisions, and works with legal counsel in the areas such as government tort claims, subpoenas, Brady requests, small claims and lawsuits;
• Provides a wide variety of complex, confidential analytical duties in support of the District Secretary, Board of Directors, and standing Board committees;
• Independently composes, researches, compiles, summarizes, and prepares a variety of complex correspondence, reports and documents; reviews finished materials for completeness and accuracy; ensures documents comply with District standards, policies and procedures;
• Perform special studies for the District, and coordinates assigned activities with other District departments, and divisions, and outside entities;
• Independently responds to and resolves difficult and sensitive citizen inquiries and complaints;
• Coordinates and assists in the development of the annual budgets of the Board and District Secretary’s Office and monitors, reviews and approves department expenditures, and performs financial analysis for budgetary purposes;
• Assists the District Secretary with providing direct support in varied, analytical administrative projects related to the Board and its committees;
• Independently prepares and presents a variety of oral and written reports, correspondence, and statistical analyses with extreme attention to detail and accuracy;
• Works with Procurement to select vendors and purchase department services as needed for projects, and participates on panels for various District procurements especially those related to the District’s third party administrators for public liability and workers compensation, insurance advisors and e-document conversion;
• Has an in-depth understanding of the department’s functions and especially its role with the Board of Directors such as the steps involved in planning and executing Board events and maintaining key Board documents such as Rules of the Board, Master Ordinance and record of the Board’s proceedings;
• Autonomously draft client correspondence and legal documents, using proper format and appropriate language and content;
• Oversees newspaper advertisements for public hearings/meetings;
• Monitors activities and ensures maintenance of files related to insurance and accident claim matters to fulfill department records retention schedule;
• Engages with a wide variety of District representatives including the Board of Directors, Executive Team, mid-managers and staff in a wide variety of roles including those engaged in specialized trades;
• Performs additional related duties as assigned; and
• Regular and reliable performance and attendance is required.

A Dance Instructor (Program Specialist) will plan, prepare and instruct recreation activities. Activities may include art, cooking, dance, pre-school program and other program areas. Programs are designed for children ages 4-17 (primarily 5-12) years of age.

Dance programs may include ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, ballroom, folkloric, salsa, and rhythmic international styles.

• Different program areas will have different skills and knowledge requirements for the position; check with Recreation Supervisor. (For example: 6 ECE unites required for pre-school instructor)
• One school year teaching experience
• At least one year's experience working with children in an academic setting
• Must be willing and able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required

Vaccinates animals as they are received and administers medicine under instructions from a veterinarian; prepares identification collars and places on animals for accurate records.
 
Responds to questions from the public about animal breeds, temperament and adoptions;  advises public on appropriate choices for adoption and the proper care, treatment and control of animals.
 
Cleans, disinfects and maintains kennels and kennel area; performs dishwashing and laundering tasks.
 
Maintains a computerized log and record of all animals at shelter.
 
Reports any animals exhibiting symptoms of ill health or communicable disease.
 
Maintains inventories and supplies of food, medicines and controlled drugs, completing the necessary forms.

Assists in supervising volunteers.
 
Lifts and loads animals weighing up to seventy-five pounds.

The Tiny Tots Instructor will teach assigned classes of pre-school children ranging in ages from 18 months to 5 years old in enrichment, recreational and educational based programming (Tiny Tots Aide will assist).

 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (This is a general description of duties and is not all-inclusive)

• Develop and instruct weekly lesson plans (i.e. art, free play, enrichment, and circle time).
• Supervise preschool age children indoors and outdoors.
• Maintains a variety of program records and prepares reports relevant to program area.
• Ensures that activities run smoothly and according to program objectives and guidelines and general department philosophy.
• Maintain direct communication with parents and families.
• Encourage and support early childhood development.
• Clean tables, floors and play areas when need arises.
• Participate in City sponsored special events which may occur on weekends and/or holidays
• Perform other duties as assigned

 

SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED

General supervision is provided by the Tiny Tots Supervisor.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Be able to establish and maintain productive working relations with others
• Ability to tactfully and appropriately communicate with preschoolers and parents
• Ability and desire to work with young children
• Must have some knowledge of growth and developmental stages of 3-5 year old children

 

Tiny Tots Preschool Aide (Activity Specialist II)

• Must be at least 18 years of age and have ECE units, or educational equivalent, or experience caring for children

Tiny Tots Preschool Lead (Activity Specialist III)

• Must have 6 academic units at the junior college level in an Early Childhood Education program and 18 months experience in a recreation or structured child care setting for preschoolers.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT

• Must be able to handle sensitive and/or stressful situations or information with tact, discretion and significant awareness of confidentiality
• Must effectively communicate with adults and children from a variety of cultural backgrounds
• Willingness to comply with suspected child abuse reporting (11166.5 PC)
• Employees are required to be certified in Adult/Child CPR & First Aid from American Red Cross, American Heart Association or supervisor approved equivalent. Employees must be certified 30 days prior to the first day of work.
• Fingerprinting and TB test are required
• Must submit verification of legal right to work in the United States as a condition of employment

 

SELECTION PROCESS

Qualified application will be evaluated on the basis of related experience and quality of presentation.

The most highly qualified applicants will be invited to an oral interview. Applicant evaluations may include a written and physical test. Satisfactory candidates will be placed on an eligibility list. Placements are anticipated immediately after the list is established. Some placements may be assigned to emphasize public education as the City's needs require.

 

Some positions may require a health evaluation.
