The Coordinator is responsible for providing the highest quality of guest service to all visitors. The Coordinator will be responsible for administrative duties and assist at various City facilities, as assigned. In addition, the Coordinator will monitor facility rentals and support the special events. This is potentially a year around part time position.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (This is a general description of duties and is not all-inclusive)

• Provide excellent customer service while performing assigned duties and have strong telephone and follow up skills
• Maintain a high degree of confidentiality in performing all aspects of assigned duties
• Process financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records
• Communicate facility/program features to potential clients/groups
• Complete all daily opening and closing tasks in a timely manner
• Assist in protecting and safeguarding all property assets
• Resolve guest/participant concerns as needed
• Attend training and staff meetings as assigned

• Supervise part-time employees in Supervisor's absence and update employees on schedules and other essential tasks

• Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED

General supervision is provided by Recreation Supervisor or Assistant Recreation Supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age
• Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent and have one year college or volunteer / paid experience that would qualify the applicant to perform all duties
• Must have reliable transportation to and from job assignments
• Must possess strong organizational skills and be able to multi-task
• Must be able to establish and maintain productive relations with others
• Must be willing and able to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
• Depending upon assignment, may need to possess Class C Driver's License

REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT

• Must be able to handle sensitive and/or stressful situations or information with tact, discretion and significant awareness of confidentiality
• Must effectively communicate with adults and children from a variety of cultural backgrounds
• Willingness to comply with suspected child abuse reporting (11166.5 PC)
• Employees are required to be certified in Adult/Child CPR, First Aid, & AED from American Red Cross, American Heart Association or supervisor approved equivalent. Employees must be certified within 30 days of hire date or prior to the first day of work, whichever occurs earlier.
• Fingerprinting and TB test are required
• Must submit verification of legal right to work in the United States as a condition of employment

The most highly qualified applicants will be invited to an oral interview. Applicant evaluations may include a written and physical test. Satisfactory candidates will be placed on an eligibility list. Placements are anticipated immediately after the list is established. Marina Attendants work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist I. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19 hours per week.

The Department: The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center, and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

The Position: Marina Attendants provide assistance and information to marina customers, in person and by telephone; perform marina related inspections and boat checks including seaworthiness boat checks and improvement verifications; perform boat measurement and appearance inspections; monitor dock conditions, check seawall and other dock infrastructure, and clear debris from Suisun City waters; perform impound and auction related activities; interpret, apply and explain policies, regulations, codes and procedures relating to slips, moorings and dock structures; assign space for visiting vessels, calculate and collect fees; maintain inventory and operate marina equipment. This position entails 10 to 20 hours per week, with shifts available during weekday mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Position Summary: 

The Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer plays a key role in providing essential fitness instruction and personalized training programs to help individuals achieve their health and fitness goals. The responsibilities include instructing group fitness classes, offering personal training sessions, designing customized fitness programs for clients, ensuring safe and effective exercises, motivating and encouraging participants, providing feedback and adjustments to exercises, and monitoring clients' progress for continuous improvement. This role will also be providing excellent customer service, addressing fitness-related inquiries, maintaining a positive and motivating environment for everyone, and ensuring the fitness facility is clean, safe, and fully operational. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.  

• Certification in personal training or group fitness instruction required (e.g., ACE, NASM, or other recognized certification).  

• At least one year of experience in fitness instruction, personal training, or a related field preferred.  

• Experience in group instruction and one-on-one training is highly desirable. 

Knowledge and Skills: 

This position requires a knowledge of general fitness principles, exercise techniques, and wellness practices, instructing and motivating individuals or groups in a fitness setting, excellent communication to provide clear instruction and positive feedback and assessing client needs and creating individualized fitness programs. The position also requires ability to operate and maintain fitness equipment safely. 

Special Requirements: 

• Current certification in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). 

• Fitness certifications (e.g., Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor) from a nationally recognized organization. 

The Recreation Specialist is a unique position that is primarily responsible for specific projects or long term projects requiring relevant knowledge and expertise.

• Set up and maintain project files or computer databases as required
• Provide regular project updates including written reports to project leader in a timely manner

• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Excellent organizational and supervisory skills, be resourceful, flexible and able to work both alone or as a team member
• Must be reliable and be able to provide transportation
