The City of Dixon is looking to fill a position of a Parks & Building Maintenance Supervisor in the Public Works Department ideally with an individual that has strong supervisory skills. This position will plan, organize, monitor and supervise the work of maintenance personnel assigned to Parks and Building Maintenance; the maintenance and repair of City-owned vehicles and equipment and to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to Parks & Building Maintenance.

This class is a full, first line supervisory level in the maintenance series. Incumbents have responsibility for resolving employee complaints, ensuring that departmental rules and regulations are followed, and preparing employee performance evaluations. Receives general direction from the Public Works Director or their designee. Exercises direct supervision over maintenance personnel assigned to the Public Works Department.

DESCRIPTION  

The City of Thousand Oaks is excited to announce the creation of a new Engineering Division Manager position within the Public Works Department. This newly established role, has been created to further strengthen our commitment to infrastructure excellence and service. Minimum Qualifications for consideration: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: 

Education/Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by college level course work in chemistry, biology, environmental science or a related field.

Experience: Two years of increasingly responsible environmental inspection, sampling, and enforcement experience including some experience with industrial wastewater pretreatment programs.

License or Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver’s license. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Grade I Environmental Compliance Inspector certificate. Possession of a Grade II Environmental Compliance Inspector certificate is desirable

The City of Dixon is looking to fill one full-time, regular position of Accountant in the Finance Department. This position performs professional level accounting functions such as recording and reporting financial transactions, review of financial records; provides fiscal control for assigned areas of operation, preparation of financial report statements and analyzes. This is not a remote position and work schedule will be Monday through Friday, onsite.

Accountant - This classification is the entry level, mid-management position in the accounting series. Professional level work is performed, and incumbents are expected to perform the full range of accounting duties with minimal supervision. Successful performance in this position requires a thorough knowledge of governmental accounting procedures and the ability to exercise sound judgement within established guidelines.

The Dixon Fire Department is opening their Firefighter/Paramedic Recruit position for someone to attend the Fire Academy in January 2026. The "Firefighter/Paramedic Recruit" is an entry-level classification designed for recruits with a current paramedic license to gain firefighting, fire rescue, and fire prevention skills and training necessary through an accredited Fire Academy. The City of Dixon is looking to fill two full-time, regular positions for the position of Wastewater System Operator I/II in the Engineering Department and to establish an eligibility list for future vacancies. This position will perform the operation and maintenance of the City of Dixon's ("City"), Grade III, activated sludge wastewater facility, laboratory facilities, industrial pretreatment program related property and equipment.

This position includes field, laboratory and office activities. Field activities involve exposure to noxious odors, dangerous gases, strong acids, heights, confined spaces, extremes in weather conditions, hazardous materials, airborne particles, noise, water hazards, heavy equipment operation and traffic hazards. Wastewater System Operator I: This is the entry level class in the Wastewater Systems Operator series and requires a Grade I Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certificate issued by the State of California.

Wastewater System Operator II: This is the journey level class in the Wastewater Systems Operator series and requires a Grade II Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certificate issued by the State of California and is a fully qualified plant operator certified to independently operate a grade III wastewater treatment facility.

The Dixon Fire Department offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for qualified applicants pursuing a career in fire safety.  The position performs fire prevention activities to save lives and property; responds to hazardous material incidents; responds to all fire alarms with designated company; prepares and operates the necessary equipment at the scene of the fire such as a hose, ladders, chemicals, bars, hooks, etc.; administers first aid to injured patrons; performs other acts required of a Firefighter at the scene of an emergency; carries out all duties assigned by Superior Officers.  Work involves irregular hours during the day and evenings, and on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
