Winters Reserve Volunteer Firefighters may be required to effectively perform duties involving the protection of life and property from fire and other emergencies, while assigned to an engine; maintain station, inspect, test and maintain equipment and fire apparatus; conduct training during shifts, maintain reports, and other duties as specified by the Shift Captain.

This is a NEW program within the Marysville Fire Department. The Marysville Fire Department is hiring continuously for twelve (12) Firefighter Reserves. These positions will be funded for four (4) years through the SAFER Grant.
For each 24 hour shift worked, you will receive $60 for food and mileage, that will be paid monthly in accordance with the City of Marysville's established pay schedule.

The Chief will have responsibility for the overall operation of the Fire Department. Training, mentorship and departmental integration will be key priorities for this assignment. Will serve as Duty Chief on a rotating schedule with the Assistant Chiefs.

Under the general direction of the Fire Chief or Shift Captain, a Resident Support Volunteer is a support role position that may perform administrative office functions and provide support for services administered by the department. They will be active members within the Volunteer Firefighters Association and provide support to the activities and fundraising events within the community.
The Firefighter is a journey level class within the Fire Department responsible for performing a variety of duties and responsibilities in support of the department’s fire prevention and suppression responsibility. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Engineer in that the Engineer is responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of fire equipment and apparatus.
