The Public Works Department is recruiting to fill several Event Services Representative (Recreation Leader – Part Time Unbenefited) positions to support the coordination of events occurring at City Hall. Event Services Representatives assist in monitoring and providing customer/client support for special events. Event Services Representatives maybe required to provide technical assistance and set up of equipment on day of event, assist in resolving customer issues and complaints, and respond to emergency situations during events. The on-site Event Services Representative coordinates with event staff such as ushers, ticket takers, security, crowd control, outside contractors, and performs facility safety checks which may include enforcing Safety and Fire Marshall Regulations.  

Due to the nature of the job responsibilities, Event Services Representatives must be able to:  

• Work extended/irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Position Duties

The Department of Transportation is currently seeking to fill 1 vacancy  for the Transportation Services Manager  (Parking Manager I/II) position. The Transportation Services Manager (Parking Manager I/II)  reports to the Parking and Downtown Operations Division Manager and is responsible for overseeing the operations, administration, and strategic management of eight (8) parking garages and six (6) surface lots comprising of approximately 7,300 parking spaces, primarily located in Downtown San José. The position also oversees approximately 2,500 on-street parking meters citywide and plays a key role in the development and implementation of parking and curb management policies, operational procedures, and infrastructure and technology improvements. Responsibilities include managing parking operations and technology systems, supporting mobility and access initiatives, coordinating maintenance and capital improvement efforts, and advancing curb space management strategies to balance parking demand, transportation needs, and downtown economic activity.
 
The Transportation Services Manager (Parking Manager I/II)  oversees a team of eleven (11) which include two (2) direct reports -- a Parking and Ground Transportation Administrator and a Sr. Analyst. 
 
One of the primary focuses of this position is to manage and lead a team that works directly with Downtown businesses and residences, community groups and associations, Council Offices, the Downtown Parking Board, the Convention Center and Cultural Facilities operator and City departments to deliver off-street and on-street parking services. 
 
Under direction, the position performs professional, analytical and administrative work of considerable difficulty in developing, implementing and managing agreements and contracts that involve off-street and on-street parking operations. Projects currently underway include major facade and elevator modernization improvements, analysis of the off street parking security program, developing capacity and usage trends for each parking 
facility and on-street meter zones, administration and development of parking agreements to spur downtown development or office leasing activity.   
 
The successful candidate for this position will be expected to achieve results, lead continuous improvement efforts and ensure that the operations of the off-street and on-street parking program are consistently managed and maintained to provide the highest level of customer service, minimize program costs, and maximize cash flow to the City. 
 
This position is responsible for leading and managing the Off-Street Parking and On-Street Parking meters and curb management in the Department of Transportation. Principal areas of responsibility include the following: 
• Leading and managing off-street and on-street parking staff through the establishment of goals, creation of an innovative work environment, maximizing development opportunities and providing appropriate recognition. 
• Quantitative planning and analysis of Downtown San Jose parking supply and demand based on local market conditions and future developments. 
• Oversight and maintenance of parking facilities, parking guidance system, and on-street parking meters, and curb spaces.
• Providing staff support and working effectively with advisory committees, boards, task forces, community groups, associations and staff in other departments and/or agencies. 
• Coordinating/assisting in preparation of new parking ordinances/resolutions, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), agreements, and City Council memorandums for Off-Street and On-Street Parking Services. 
• Managing marketing agreements and implementing strategies to attract customers and participation in various current or future parking programs  
• Performing and analyzing results from semi-annual customer service survey for all parking facilities and tracking City Council approved Performance Measures and preparing Off-street and On-Street parking operating budgets. 
• Taking the lead for assessing the current operational technology infrastructure and developing a strategic roadmap to enhance existing systems while identifying and implementing new technology solutions.
• Representing Division Manager at meetings with internal and external stakeholders and other duties as assigned.

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is looking for a Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) who will provide a variety of rehabilitative support services to clients. This position will be a part of a 3 year- federally funded MHSSA Grant Team set to end in December 2026. Candidates must be able to facilitate the following: behavior modification, skill building, and self-care and safety in individual and/or group settings; demonstrates and coaches clients to promote and reinforce the use of effective coping strategies and techniques based on individual needs and treatment plans; performs outreach and provides linkages and referrals to a variety of behavioral health, community, and social services, resources, and systems of care; encourages full client engagement in services to promote wellness and recovery; and performs related duties as assigned. THE POSITION

The JPA Administrator/Clerk serves as the official custodian of Governing Board and Behavioral Health Commission records and oversees governance-related public records administration. The position acts as the Recording Secretary for public meetings and supports compliance with the Brown Act, California Public Records Act, and Political Reform Act.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

• Serve as the official Recording Secretary to the Governing Board and Behavioral Health Commission, including attending meetings; preparing, recording, certifying, and maintaining official minutes, resolutions, agendas, and related governance documentation
• Prepare, organize, print, publish, and distribute Governing Board and Commission agenda packets, meeting materials, public notices, hearing notices, and official correspondence in accordance with legal timelines and agency procedures

DEFINITION

Responsible for the day-to-day responsibilities related to municipal traffic operations within the Town of Danville. Perform a variety of professional and technical level traffic and transportation engineering tasks, including traffic system planning, design and operation, and traffic control systems.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives direction from the Transportation Manager.  May exercise supervision over additional professional, technical and/or support staff as assigned. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Essential duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Conduct technical and administrative work in the functional areas of traffic operations, Downtown area, residential parking, and transportation planning and design.
• Manage the Town’s traffic signal and traffic control devices network in conjunction with the Transportation Manager.
• Serve as the public interface for matters related to traffic safety and circulation; develop and implement solutions with creative and professional use of acceptable traffic engineering standards. 
• Prepare traffic studies related to local traffic circulation and review traffic studies generated through the development review process, as directed.
• Review civil and public improvements plans for transportation related infrastructure.
• Review collision reports and prepare and maintain collision diagrams.
• Conduct and maintain Traffic and Engineering Surveys.
• Review and comment on traffic signal plans and assist with oversight of traffic signal construction and modifications, as directed.
• Work in collaboration with traffic signal maintenance personnel to manage and troubleshoot issues related to traffic signal operations/equipment and electronic traffic control devices.
• Monitor traffic signal network operations through the Town’s centralized traffic signal monitoring system.
• Serve as project manager for transportation-related Capital Improvement Projects and studies, as directed.
• Conduct special research projects, including compiling and analyzing information; develop recommendations on courses of action; deliver concise, effective presentations to the Town Council, Town Commissions and members of the public.
• Coordinate with Police Department personnel to respond to public concerns related to traffic safety and circulation and parking.
• Provide staff support to other departments, boards, and commissions as directed.
• Coordinate with regional transportation agencies on transportation projects and funding opportunities, as directed.
• Maintain current program content on Town websites.
• Prepare and manage professional services contracts.
• Research and stay current on traffic engineering and transportation planning regulations, practices and technology.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

• Fundamentals of traffic engineering inclusive of multi-modal transportation applications and practices.
• Signs and pavement markings standards; intersection and roadway capacity practices; intersection design; residential street design and traffic control.
• Transportation impact study elements and preparation processes; traffic signal operations; on‑ and off‑street parking standards; traffic control devices; and pavement management.
• GIS, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office and general software applications.
• Traffic engineering-related software such as Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, and Crossroads is preferred.

Ability to:

• Interpret plans and specifications; some GIS knowledge.
• Research and stay current on traffic engineering and transportation planning regulations, practices and technology.
• Prepare clear and concise written reports and correspondence, deliver presentations before the Town Council and members of the public, and facilitate meetings.
• Design and review traffic control plans.
• Establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with fellow employees and outside agencies in a team approach and the public.
• Work a varied schedule, including evenings and/or weekends, as needed.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience:

Five (5) years of increasingly responsible full-time experience or eight (8) years of part-time experience in traffic engineering, or closely related field, including drafting, surveying, and other specialized traffic training, licensure, etc. Background in transportation, planning, transportation engineering, or public administration in a community development environment is desirable. Public sector experience preferred. 

Education:

An Associate degree in transportation planning, transportation engineering, or closely related field. 

LICENSE(S) AND CERTIFICATION(S)

Possession of a valid California State Driver's License, or license in another state with the ability to obtain a California license within 30 days of hire. Professional Engineer, Professional Traffic Operations Engineer, or California Traffic Engineers license is preferred. Valid Construction Zone Safety Certification. Tri-City is looking for individuals to serve as a Psychiatric Technician I/II (Licensed) on a full-time basis for the MCCP. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will be part of a team that provides crisis intervention and stabilization, linkage and referral, consultation, and education within the scope of practice. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will report to the Mobile Crisis Care Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Program Manager.

Tri-City’s MCCP operates 24/7 to provide crucial support in mobile crises. As such, the schedule will involve a 3/12 shift pattern, consisting of three twelve-hour days per workweek and one alternating eight-hour day every other week. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, daytime hours, and holidays.

The specific shift and schedule will be determined by the supervisor; however, the first one to two months of training will follow a 5-day-per-week, 40-hour-per-week schedule

Examples of shifts are included below:

• Day Shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, or 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• Night Shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 7:00 PM - 3:00 AM, 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM, or 8:00 PM - 4:00 AM

Shift Rotation

Availability

• As our Mobile Crisis Care team provides critical support during community crises, it’s essential that members can respond promptly. To ensure timely response, team members must reside within a 30-minute commute to the Authority in heavy traffic. If selected, candidates who do not currently meet this requirement will be expected to relocate within four weeks of accepting the position.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities, including, but are not limited to, the following:

Positions at the Psychiatric Technician I level may perform some of these duties and responsibilities in a learning capacity.

• Under the direction of clinical staff, provides medication management services to a caseload of clients in the office and in the field; ensures the proper acquisition and administration of medication.

• Strong commitment to public safety and punctuality.
• Clean driving record.
• Experience operating commercial or transit vehicles in varied traffic and weather conditions.
• Experience assisting passengers with special needs, including operating wheelchair lifts and securing mobility devices.
• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in fast-paced or challenging situations.
• Experience with pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle cleanliness and readiness.
• Flexibility with scheduling, with the ability to work weekends and holidays.
• Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with passengers, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Ability to understand and follow City policies, safety procedures, and recordkeeping requirements.
