The Planning and Delivery subdivision of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) is responsible for providing a safe, reliable and connected multimodal network. We are a team committed to transforming how projects are delivered and how people move. Our vision is rooted in vertical integration across the entire project delivery lifecycle and horizontal integration across all modes of transportation – including walking, biking, driving, and transit.  The Muni Forward team leads the development of projects aimed at reducing transit delays and enhancing the safety and comfort of Muni customers across all routes.

SFMTA is currently in the process of developing a new train control system.  The Train Control Upgrade Project (TCUP) is a critical, once-in-a-generation investment to modernize and grow Muni Metro for decades to come. TCUP aims to replace the outdated system that currently controls our Metro trains in our subways with a new, state-of-the-art Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) system, and extend the new system to all on-street Metro corridors.

APPOINTMENT TYPE: Temporary Exempt: This position is excluded by the Charter from the competitive Civil Service examination process and shall serve at the discretion of the Appointing Officer. The duration of this appointment shall not exceed 36 months.

The Project Manager I (PM1) is responsible for the surface level integration of the new CBTC system with SFMTA’s existing traffic signal infrastructure.  The work will include systems engineering to integrate various pieces of infrastructure to ensure compatible functionality (e.g. CBTC can communicate with traffic signal controller software and output the desired signal outcomes). The PM1 should possess expertise in traffic signal systems and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), including but not limited to: signal timing parameters, traffic signal design, Transit Signal Priority (TSP), network communication protocols and devices, as well as familiarity with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and the systems engineering architecture and standards established by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).  The candidate must also have prior experience overseeing the integration of ITS devices, such as TSP and emergency vehicle preemption, with the D4 traffic signal controller software.

EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT DUTIES:

• Oversee internal staff and consultants to develop protocols and procedures to integrate CBTC technology with existing traffic signal infrastructure
• Develop calculations for traffic signal timing card changes to reduce transit travel times and improve transit reliability
• Provide direction to staff in the preparation of studies, calculations, designs, drawings, sketches, and plans for a variety of engineering projects using AutoCAD, Synchro, VISSIM and other software tools
• Provide written and oral responses to a variety of inquiries from other agencies, contractors, and the general public
• Performs other related duties as assigned

1. Bachelor's Degree in architecture, engineering or planning plus four years of responsible architectural, engineering or construction management experience, OR
2. A Bachelor's Degree in another field plus six years of responsible experience in a field directly related to the project, OR
3. Eight years of architectural, engineering, or construction management experience in a field directly related to the project, OR
4. California registration as professional engineer or architect.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

The stated desirable qualifications may be used to identify candidates advancing to the interview process and/or to identify job finalist(s) at the end of the selection process when referred for hiring.

• Possession of a current Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California in both Civil and Traffic disciplines
• Possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Detailed knowledge of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and the National Transportation Communications for Intelligent Transportation System Protocol (NTCIP), including previous experience with managing project deployment and integrations of related devices
• Extensive experience programming traffic signal timing plans with the D4 traffic signal controller software
• Knowledge of transit operations and investigative practices to develop roadway engineering safety improvements
• Hands-on experience with traffic signal and communications network design and construction - covering all phases from preliminary engineering design to the finalization of plans, specifications, and estimates plus construction support
• Demonstrated capability in lifecycle planning and deployment of emerging technologies, including successful implementation through pilot initiatives
• A genuine interest in transit and enthusiasm for improving a highly-utilized metropolitan rail system

THE POSITION

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is currently hiring to fill one full-time vacancy for the position of Clinical Therapist II within the Mobile Crisis Care Program (MCCP). 

Tri-City’s MCCP operates 24/7 to provide crucial support in mobile crises. As such, the schedule will involve a 3/12 shift pattern, consisting of three twelve-hour days per workweek and one alternating eight-hour day every other week. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, daytime hours, and holidays.

The specific shift and schedule will be determined by the supervisor; however, the first one to two months of training will follow a 5-day-per-week, 40-hour-per-week schedule

Examples of shifts are included below:

• Day Shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, or 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• Night Shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 7:00 PM - 3:00 AM, 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM, or 8:00 PM - 4:00 AM

Weekend and night shifts will be entitled to Shift Differential Pay of $2.50 per hour on weekdays (Monday through Friday) and $3.50 per hour on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Holiday shifts will be entitled to Holiday Pay.

Tri-City is looking for individuals to serve as Clinical Therapist II on a full-time basis for the MCCP. The MCCP Clinical Therapist II will be part of a team that provides crisis intervention and stabilization, linkage and referral, consultation, and education within the scope of practice. The MCCP Clinical Therapist II will report to the Mobile Crisis Care Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Program Manager.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Respond to client’s (Full-Service Partnership and Adult and Children’s Outpatient Programs and other specialty mental health services) crisis calls with or without law enforcement;
   

• Perform field-based and telephone emergency mental health evaluations and crisis stabilization in accordance with agency procedure;
   

• Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services to individuals, groups, and families;
   

• Identify treatment needs and make appropriate referrals for necessary services;
   

• Assist clients and relatives with understanding behavioral health problems and their reaction to them;
   

• Work on a multidisciplinary team for crisis response.

POLICE RECORDS TECHNICIAN I

$4,962.25 - $6,982.33 MONTHLY BASE SALARY PLUS EXCELLENT BENEFITS! In addition to the above:

• Enforce department rules including facility rental policies.
• Communicate with the community in both English and Spanish (preferred).

What You Bring

Building Attendant I: Possession of a High School Diploma, or equivalent, and no experience working in a recreation setting.  Experience working in a recreation setting can substitute for the diploma or equivalent.

Building Attendant II: Possession of a High School Diploma, or equivalent; and two (2) year’s paid or unpaid work experience, or two (2) years of experience equivalent to the level of Building Attendant I.

Building Attendant III:  Possession of a High School Diploma, or equivalent; and four (4) year’s paid or unpaid work experience, or four (4) years of recreation leadership experience equivalent to the level of Building Attendant I.

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) is a department of the City and County of San Francisco responsible for the management of all ground transportation in the City. The SFMTA has oversight over the Municipal Railway (Muni) public transit, as well as bicycling, paratransit, parking, traffic, walking, and taxis.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

18-week training program that teaches basic technical and job-readiness skills to prepare participants for a IAM Local 1414 Registered Apprenticeship for the Automotive Mechanic, Machinist, Auto Body Painter, or Body and Fender Repairer. The 18-week program includes eighteen (18) weeks of free academic training through City College of San Francisco, as well as nine (9) weeks paid on-the-job experience. All equipment and uniforms are provided by the program. Individuals are expected to attend all classes and work assignments to complete the program.

First nine (9) weeks of program at CCSF Evans Campus 8 am-4 pm Mon-Thurs. (unpaid)

Second nine (9) weeks 1/2 day class, four (4) hours at CCSF Evans Campus, and four hours a day, four days a week for nine weeks (paid) On-The-Job training.

Pre-Apprentices are expected to complete the following courses and certifications during the program:

• Intro to Automotive Mechanics
• Introduction to Hybrid and EV Auto Maintenance and Repair
• Auto Body Dent and Damage Repair
• OSHA 10
• EPA 609
• Automotive Service Excellence Entry-Level Brakes

Under immediate supervision, the 9940 Pre-Apprentice Automotive Mechanic performs semi-skilled trainee work designed to introduce career options and role models in connection with the operation, maintenance and repair of automotive vehicles. As part of a Pre-Apprenticeship program, incumbents learn about the work environment, required skilled mechanical work, and real-life experience to help them find employment as an apprentice and eventually as a journey mechanic. Positions allocated to the 9940 Pre-Apprentice Automotive Mechanic job code function as trainees.

According to Civil Service Commission Rule 109, the duties specified below are representative of the range of duties assigned to this job code/class and are not intended to be an inclusive list.

EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Observes and assists repairs and overhauls of a variety of mechanical equipment.
• Observes and assists the maintenance, removal, repair, overhaul installation and tuning of engines.
• Observes and assists the maintenance, repair, overhaul, adjustment, installation and calibration of automotive, diesel, hybrid and alternative fuel vehicle fuel systems.
• Observes and assists the maintenance and installation of lighting circuits and auxiliary actuating circuits.
• Observes and assists the maintenance, repair, overhaul and adjustment of vehicle brake systems, vehicle cooling systems, vehicle chassis, wheel suspension, and articulated bus suspension systems.
• Observes and assists the operation of shop equipment and machine tools.
• Observes and assists the troubleshooting of equipment problems.
• Observes and assists on a road call.
• Observes and assists the completion of paper and electronic forms and records on work performed, time and parts used.

NATURE OF WORK: 

May require exposure to disagreeable weather conditions and hazardous work situations; handling hazardous materials and waste; occasional lifting heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds and carrying them for moderate distances; wearing required safety equipment, such as a respirator or dust mask; wearing specialized clothing such as mechanic coveralls, safety vest, etc.; walking or standing for extended periods of time. Some positions may require the use of a computer.

Minimum Qualifications:

These minimum qualifications establish the education, training, experience, special skills and/or license(s) which are required for employment in the classification. • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D or High School Proficiency Examination)
• Automotive experience at service stations (Lube and Filter replacement), repair shops, tire shop, mechanical shop and/or automotive audio/video and tint shop.
• Any automotive or diesel technology course or classes.
