he Senior Project Manager is responsible for the developing, managing, and administering capital funded design and construction of projects of the infrastructure and capital project development department for the San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans). 

The Bus Infrastructure and Capital Projects Department oversees the delivery of major bus fleet and facilities infrastructure projects for SamTrans. The department’s projects include design and construction of zero emission infrastructure (battery electric bus (BEB) charging infrastructure and hydrogen fuel cell electric bus (FCEB) infrastructure) for SamTrans's revenue and non­revenue fleet of nearly 400 vehicles, sea level rise and flood mitigation structures, bus administration, transportation, and maintenance buildings, and other structures at SamTrans' North Base and South Base Maintenance Facilities. 

 

 

 

Essential Functions & Duties

• Responsible for overall management of scope, schedule, budget, and quality of assigned capital projects from initiation to closeout. 
• Manage projects through design, procurement, and construction. 
• Manage consultant and in-house staff in formal reviews of design submittals, including engineering drawings, technical specifications, cost estimates and construction schedules. 
• Oversee construction contract to ensure compliance with contract requirements. 
• Manage coordination and communications with all stakeholders, obtain input, collaborate, and build consensus. 
• Represent SamTrans at Board, Commission, Council, and Community Meetings. 
• Responsible for the selection, management and ultimate successful delivery of vendors, contractors, and other professional services for infrastructure projects. 
• Manage consultants and professional level staff outside of the agency. Ensure District DBE, SBE and other labor compliance policies are followed.

• Present project status at regular review meetings. 
• Review cost estimates, monitor project schedules and budgets, monitor work in progress, approve, authorize, negotiate and execute contract changes, consultant invoices and process payments. 
• Oversee Consultants and Construction Management Staff during construction. 
• Prepare work directives to engage design consultants and oversee design work. 
• Responsible for handover of completed project to systems integration and operations staff. 
• Investigate, negotiate and resolve project issues. 
• Identify root cause of issues, determine and present appropriate solutions. 
• Coordinate and collaborate closely with SamTrans project stakeholders.
• Manage coordination, communications and expectations with project stakeholders, and internal cross-functional teams responsible for different aspects of planning, design, and engineering
• Provide support for federal and state grant applications for funding of SamTrans infrastructure projects.
• Support development of contract solicitations.
• Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies during project implementation, and ensure compliance with their administrative guidelines.
• Develop, negotiate, and monitor contracts and cooperative agreements with other governmental agencies, private consultants, and private contractors.
• Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect oneself, fellow employees and the public from injury or harm. Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents.

The Superior Court of California, County of San Mateo is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Court Facilities Manager.

Under the general direction of the Court Human Resources Director, the Facilities Manager oversees all operational, maintenance, and project management functions for the Court’s facilities. This position is responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and efficiency of Court buildings and related infrastructure through strategic planning, contract management, and compliance with applicable building codes and regulations.

The Facilities Manager serves as the Court’s subject matter expert in facilities management, building systems, capital improvement projects, and provides leadership in the development and implementation of long-term facility plans that support operational effectiveness and sustainability.

This hands-on position will interact with facilities and janitorial staff on a regular basis and will perform physical work and respond to calls.

This position functions at the management level and is distinguished by its responsibility for strategic oversight of facilities operations, maintenance, and safety programs. The incumbent exercises independent judgment and technical expertise in facilities planning, procurement, and compliance. The Court Facilities Manager exercises direct and indirect supervision over facilities, custodial, and maintenance personnel and oversees contractors, consultants, and vendors performing services for the Court.

Examples Of Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Develop, manage, and monitor facilities-related contracts and procurement activities in compliance with state and local government regulations.
• Provide hands-on project management by planning, organizing, and directing the maintenance, repair, and operation of all Court facilities, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, janitorial, plumbing, and security systems.
• Conduct regular onsite inspections of buildings, courtrooms, offices, and mechanical rooms to identify maintenance needs, safety issues, and facility deficiencies.
• Perform or assist with basic building and furniture repairs, including assembling workstations, adjusting or repairing chairs, fixing door hardware, patching drywall, replacing ceiling tiles, and troubleshooting office equipment or environmental issues.
• Respond to urgent facilities issues – such as water leaks, electrical problems, access issues, heating/cooling failures, or safety hazards – by assessing the situation and either performing immediate corrective action or coordinating vendor response.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance and capital improvement programs aligned with organizational priorities.
• Apply facilities management principles to assess and improve space utilization, building performance, and workflow efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, OSHA, Cal-OSHA, ADA, fire, and safety standards through regular walkthroughs, documentation, and corrective follow-up.
• Coordinate and oversee construction, renovation, and relocation projects from design through completion, including hands-on support with furniture installation, cubicle layout adjustments, moving equipment, and preparing spaces for staff use.
• Conduct ergonomic evaluations for staff, including adjusting chairs, desks, and equipment; making recommendations for ergonomic accessories; and physically demonstrating or installing corrective adjustments.
• Provide hands-on support during office moves by coordinating movers, ensuring proper placement of furniture, reconnecting basic equipment, and verifying that spaces are functional and safe.
• Develop and manage budgets for facilities operations, maintenance, and capital projects; monitor expenditures and forecast future resource needs.
• Lead project planning, including defining scope, schedules, budgets, and performance metrics; track progress using project management methodologies.
• Serve as liaison to the Judicial Council of California, County of San Mateo, and other agencies on matters related to facilities maintenance and capital improvements.
• Prepare and present reports, recommendations, and strategic plans to executive management.
• Promote a culture of safety and sustainability; monitor regulatory changes and update procedures accordingly.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate the work of assigned staff and ensure effective coordination among maintenance, custodial, security, and administrative teams.
• Maintain project statuses with vendors and ensure timely completion of facilities-related projects on behalf of the Superior Court.
• Perform physical facilities work as needed, including lifting/moving equipment, transporting supplies, climbing ladders, inspecting areas with limited access, conducting safety walkthroughs, and assisting during emergencies or high-priority tasks.

The City of Sunnyvale is seeking an effective and skilled communicator, and highly motivated problem solver for the position of Principal Transportation Engineer/Planner.  This management position reports directly to the Transportation and Traffic Manager in the Public Works Department and will be responsible for:  assisting with planning, organizing and coordinating the activities of the Division of Transportation and Traffic; and perform professional traffic engineering, transportation planning, designing, and project management.

This position will supervise a small team within the Division to accomplish specific tasks and high-level, community-oriented projects. Current projects include: East Channel Trail study; Mary Avenue Overcrossing over highways 101 and 237; Bernardo Avenue railroad undercrossing; Sunnyvale Avenue and Mary Avenue railroad grade separations, liaison with the County for the Lawrence Grade Separation project; and coordinating with VTA as part of the delivering Measure B transportation projects. The position will manage multiple consultant contracts and will be expected to coordinate and work closely with other staff within the Division and with staff within other departments such as Public Works, Community Development, Environmental Services, and Public Safety, and represent the City with outside agencies such as the Valley Transportation Authority, Caltrain, High Speed Rail, Caltrans, MTC, County of Santa Clara, and adjacent cities.

The position will focus on advancing the projects mentioned above, assist with oversight of the design and traffic signal operations, implementation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS); assist with the coordination of Division of Transportation and Traffic activities with other divisions and departments; oversee and assist with oversight of the grant application preparation, reporting, and management for transportation projects; assist with planning and coordinating division workload and budgets; creating and sustaining cooperative and collaborative working relationships across the City, with the development community, and residents; attend and present at public meetings/City Commissions; and provide assistance with highly complex traffic engineering work. Quality Assurance Group: 
The QA Group supports all capital improvement programs for the Division during planning, design, procurement, construction and closeout phases of highway, rail, transit and facilities projects.  As a Senior Transportation Engineer, you will play an important role in ensuring delivery of quality products and services for the Division. It is the responsibility of the QA Group to ensure the development of each project’s Contract-specific Quality Management Plan (CQMP) and to conduct audits and surveillances, based on the approved CQMPs, to monitor and assure effective implementation. About the Division
The Legal Division provides a wide array of legal services to support the entire Air District, including prosecuting violations of air laws; advising on legal compliance with the Brown Act, California Environmental Quality Act, AB 617, and other federal, State and local laws; supporting rulemakings by developing regulatory language and advising on compliance with rulemaking requirements; supporting the permitting program; reviewing records under the Public Records Act; researching legal issues; and staying abreast of current legal developments in air quality throughout California and nationwide. The Division utilizes a variety of tools to resolve enforcement actions, such as abatement orders, civil enforcement, and coordinating with other enforcement agencies, like local district attorneys or the state Attorney General. For cases in environmental justice communities, Air District staff can directly engage with community members when determining the appropriate legal remedies, including high enough penalties to reach deterrence-based outcomes and ensure the community benefits from the related funds and measures to bring the facility into long-term compliance and prevent the potential recurrence of violations.

Definition
Under close supervision, the legal intern performs various work related to and in support of legal casework being undertaken by attorneys in the Legal Division. The intern gains practical work experience through assisting the Air District’s attorneys while following guidelines and procedures defined by the Legal Division.

Distinguishing Characteristics
This is a temporary training position for current law students and recent law school graduates. Interns will apply their legal education to work and gain practical experience assisting experienced attorneys on a variety of cases and projects. Through this work, interns will gain valuable environmental law and regulatory experience.
