Under the direction of the City Manager, performs a wide variety of responsible, confidential, and complex administrative, technical, and secretarial duties for those in the City Manager’s Office; acts as a liaison with City departments, staff, outside agencies, and the public; and supports the efficient operation of the City Manager’s office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Administrative support to the City Manager and Executive staff;  
• Handle sensitive and privileged material;
• Maintain the confidentiality of such material;
• Interact with the public, outside agencies, and City staff at all levels and on a variety of issues;
• Coordinate internal and external meetings as necessary;
• Coordinate travel to conferences and meetings;
• Prepare correspondence and/or presentations for meetings and various events;
• Coordinate purchase orders and requisitions, and manage timekeeping through the City’s Enterprise System;
• Serve as a member of the website maintenance and posting team; and
• Adhere to confidentiality standards and City policies regarding information security.

                           MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Training:

• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized secretarial training. College-level coursework in business administration, computer science, or a related field is desirable.

Experience:

• Four years of increasingly responsible administrative and secretarial experience. Previous experience supporting C-level Executives preferred.

The Customer Service Technician is responsible to provide customer service and support to the public, responding to inquiries and complaints, receiving and processing payments and fees, and assisting with new connection and permit applications.  The District can hire at the I or II level, depending on experience. 

Duties Include:

• Providing customer service in person, by phone, and electronically; responding to inquiries and complaints regarding utility services, rate structures, billing, payments, hydrant permits, and service orders.
• Receiving, processing, and documenting customer utility payments, fees, and reimbursements; processing payments received by mail, phone, in person, and electronically.
• Assisting in resolving water-related service complaints.
• Maintaining customer accounts by monitoring and ensuring the accuracy of account information.
• Providing estimates to title companies when properties are being sold.
• Preparing, tracking, and assigning work orders related to leaks, service line breaks, water quality concerns, pressure issues, meter replacements, and time-and-material tracked services.
• Notifying customers regarding delinquent accounts, non-payments, and returned checks; applying late fees and penalties; following up on payment arrangements.
• Researching and investigating billing and payment inquiries; applying adjustments as appropriate.
• Preparing Will Serve letters, assigning meters, and assisting applicants with the application process.

To be considered, candidates should be knowledgeable of principles and practices of customer service, methods for cash handling and reconciliation, and billing and account management procedures. 

The qualifications include:

I level:

• Graduation from high school or equivalent 

II level:

• Two semesters of college level coursework or two years of experience related to business or accounting 

AND

• One year of responsible experience equivalent to a Customer Service Technician I. 

Both levels:

• Possession of a valid California motor vehicle operator's class C license.

The salary range for the I level is $30.42 - $36.50 and for the II level $33.60 - $40.32, depending on qualifications. In addition, the District offers competitive benefits which include District contribution to CalPERS retirement, medical (100% of premium for most offered plans), dental and vision for employee and dependents; District paid life insurance; 12 paid days of sick leave; 12 paid holidays; and paid vacation depending on length of service. TOWN MANAGER - TOWN OF LOOMIS

The Town Council of the Town of Loomis, California (population 6,800) is seeking an energetic and engaging individual with a commitment to public service to become its new Town Manager. This is a part-time position not to exceed 960 hours per Fiscal Year (July - June).

About Our Team

The Recreation Services Division provides programs and activities for Half Moon Bay residents of all ages ranging from infants to seniors.  Program elements include fitness, enrichment, cultural events, special events, sporting events, trips, and community events. 

About The Position

We are seeking highly motivated, highly skilled, innovative and enthusiastic individuals to join the Recreation and Human Services Division with the City of Half Moon Bay.  As a critical member of this team you’ll be responsible for assisting in organizing and conducting a variety of recreation programs and activities.

You will report to the Recreation Supervisor and work alongside the Recreation Leader and other Building Attendants.  You will have the opportunity to work in a beautiful community and a tremendous opportunity to build and expand on the organizational and community success that has transformed the City over the past several years.   

What You Will Do

• Open, secure and close City facilities.
• Arrange chairs, tables and other equipment for events held at City facilities.
• Arrange audio system and room set-up for City Council, Planning Commission and Recreation Committee meetings.
• Monitor activities during the facility rentals and other facility usage including monitoring the time of access and departure of the group, monitoring set up and clean up quality provided by the group to ensure that department standards are met. Inspect facilities after usage ends. 
• Accept and file facility rental paperwork and drop in fees. 
• Provide customer service in person or by phone by orienting users, answering questions and resolving problems.
• Enforce department rules including facility rental policies.
• Communicate with the community in both English and Spanish (preferred).
• Work evenings and weekends as needed. 
• Perform related duties as assigned.

What You Bring

Sufficient education and experience to satisfactorily perform the duties of this classification. Knowing that any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. Such as:

Building Attendant I: Possession of a High School Diploma, or equivalent, and no experience working in a recreation setting.  Experience working in a recreation setting can substitute for the diploma or equivalent.

Building Attendant II: Possession of a High School Diploma, or equivalent; and two (2) year’s paid or unpaid work experience, or two (2) years of experience equivalent to the level of Building Attendant I.

Building Attendant III:  Possession of a High School Diploma, or equivalent; and four (4) year’s paid or unpaid work experience, or four (4) years of recreation leadership experience equivalent to the level of Building Attendant I.

Knowledge of:

• Basic mathematical functions.
• Equipment, facilities, operations and techniques used in a comprehensive community recreation program.
• Modern computer equipment and Microsoft Office suite programs and browsers.

Skill to:

• Set up audio and video systems and other devices as needed.
• Maintain an even disposition under pressure and trying circumstances.
• Read general diagrams for event set ups.
• Communicate clearly and understandably, both verbally and in writing.

Ability to:

• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers including, vendors, renters and instructors. 
• Work variable hours, including mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Perform heavy manual labor.
• Ensure the safety and security of buildings.

Physical Demands

The ability to maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned. The ability to move tables, chairs, and equipment; lift equipment and supplies from 5 to 50 lbs. in weight is required.

Working Conditions

This position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities.  The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in preparing statistical reports and data using a computer keyboard.  Additionally, the position requires near vision in reading correspondence, statistical data and using a computer, and acute hearing is required when providing phone service and communicating in person.
