DEFINITION

Provide the highest level of care, treatment, and transportation for all patients in an expedient and safe manner as specified by City of Sanger Fire Department and Central California Emergency Medical Services policy, procedures, processes, and protocols. This is part-time employment with no benefits. Incumbent must meet the minimum training and experience qualifications required.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Incumbents perform the full range of paramedic duties under general supervision. Duties are performed under emergency conditions.

• Work with firefighters on daily maintenance projects under the supervision and direction of the on-duty Company Officer.
• Respond to medical-aid alarms, ambulance and public service calls.
• Perform rescue operations and assist in emergency care of sick and injured persons, provide appropriate advanced life support treatment as per local, state and federal protocols.
• Participate in a variety of job-related drills and training activities.
• Maintain and submit records and patient care reports and others as required.

• Responsible for the proper use of all facilities and equipment used or issued by Department.
• Assure compliance of all policies, procedures, processes and protocols of the Sanger Fire Department Employee Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures, Sanger Municipal Code, City rules and regulations and Central California EMS Agency Policies and Procedures.

EDUCATION

Equivalent to a G.E.D. or a high school diploma.

• Possession and maintenance of a valid California Class "C" driver license with
• Ambulance Driver Certificate issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles.

• Possession and maintenance of a Central California EMS Agency EMT-P Accreditation.

POSITION INFORMATION

The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD) is dedicated to providing part time, play-based, child-centered, educational preschool programs for children ages 1-5 years old. We recognize that parent involvement is a key to a child’s success. Parents/guardians participate at all times during our Toddler classes and on a monthly basis in our Preschool programs.

LARPD’s  Associate Teacher- Preschool is responsible for creating a warm and nurturing relationship with each child. The  Associate Teacher-  Preschool encourages parent participation, designs an environment that stimulates curiosity, and utilizes a dynamic curriculum that is grounded in hands-on exploration and play.

SUMMARY

Under immediate direction, plans and implements curriculum and instructional activities for Youth Services programs; continuously supervises and monitors children to ensure their safety and well-being; and performs related work as required.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives general direction from higher-level supervisory staff and direction from lead staff.  Exercises direction over lower-level staff and volunteers.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This classification is responsible for planning and implementing curriculum and instructional activities for Youth Services programs and ensuring a safe environment for participants.  Incumbents in this classification rely on experience and judgment to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the assigned program area.  Incumbents are responsible for establishing objectives, timelines, and methods to deliver services.  Work is typically reviewed upon completion for soundness, appropriateness, and conformity to policy and requirements. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Plans, maintains, and implements a diverse range of curriculum activities, lesson plans, and positive child development strategies for Youth Services to ensure a positive and safe learning environment.
2. Leads and coordinates the work of lower-level staff and volunteers.
3. Prepares and serves snacks based on established guidelines; performs clean-up and food storage duties.
4. Assists with child assessments and environmental rating scales.
5. Provides resource information to participants; receives and responds to questions, concerns, and complaints from parents, public, and school personnel; determines issues and resolves or refers to higher-level staff as appropriate.
6. Opens, secures, and cleans program areas before and after program use; prepares program areas for scheduled activities and events.
7. Monitors equipment and facilities for cleanliness and safety; reports and recommends maintenance and repair as needed.

9. Performs administrative tasks, such as attending and scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining records.
10. Assists with staff training; participates in required training sessions, including safety drills and other emergency procedures; performs all work in a safe manner in accordance with policies and procedures.
11. May participate in parent meetings, public relations, outreach, and community education activities.
12. Assists with District special events as needed.

ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS
Incumbents work in both indoor and outdoor environments with moderate to loud noise levels.  May work in controlled temperature conditions, cold and hot temperatures, or inclement weather conditions.  May be exposed to communicable illnesses, blood, and body fluids.  Incumbents will interact with individuals in interpreting and enforcing rules, policies, and procedures.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS
Incumbents may be assigned an irregular work schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and holidays. 
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must possess:  mobility to perform moderate physical work; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio.  The classification supports indoor and outdoor programs requiring frequent walking, running, conducting exercises, and related physical activities.  Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, calculator, or tools and equipment used in assigned program area.  Program activities may require sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping, and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; the ability to lift, carry, and push tools, equipment, and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds or heavier weights with assistance and/or the use of proper equipment.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED, and 12 units in child development, or 6-9 units and currently enrolled in college level coursework in child development.
• Six months relevant experience working in a childcare facility.

POSITION

To perform a variety of semi-skilled and routine electrical construction, maintenance, repair and testing work.  The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a current vacancy, as well as establish an eligibility list for future vacancies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Repair, replace and perform routine scheduled maintenance on street lights, traffic signals and other City-owned property.  Assist with maintenance and repair of pumps, motors, electrical equipment, and other related equipment.  Reads and interprets circuit diagrams, construction drawings, and service and repair manuals.  Prepares plans and specifications for the procurement of parts and supplies on assigned projects.  Ensures that proper safety precautions and safe work methods are followed.  Prepares and maintains accurate maintenance and repair records.  Uses and maintains a wide variety of electrical tools and test equipment.  Regular and consistent attendance.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Perform electrical inspections. Read and review electrical prints and diagrams, and modify and update as required. Answer emergency calls and perform emergency repairs.  Meet all assigned Standby Program requirements and take standby duty, if required.  Perform related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent.  Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in the electrical or instrumentation trade is highly desirable.

Experience:

One (1) year of recent experience in electrical/electronics/instrumentation installation, maintenance or repair.

License and Certificates:

Possession of a valid California Driver's License required upon hire.  Possession of a valid International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Traffic Signal Level I Technician Series certificate and Work Zone Safety Level I certificate prior to permanent appointment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

• Basic knowledge of elementary aged children with regards to interests, skills, special needs, recreational activities, and program planning of such activities, i.e., sports, organized games, specials events, arts and crafts and drama.

Experience and Training

Experience:

• Minimum of six (6) months of work experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program.  Experience shall be verified as having worked at least three (3) hours per day for a minimum of fifty (50) days in a six (6) month period, as a paid or volunteer staff member, under the supervision of a person who would qualify as a teacher or director.

Training:

• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade, GED, or higher level degree supplemented by completion of twelve (12) units in early childhood education, recreation, elementary education or related field or six (6) units completed and enrolled in at least three (3) qualifying units per semester until twelve (12) units are completed.

License or Certificate

• Possession of CPR and First Aid certificates within six (6) months of hire.

THE POSITION

The Human Resources Department is accepting applications for the temporary and part-time position of Day Care Aide in the Parks, Recreation & Libraries Department. Under immediate supervision of the Child Care Site Coordinator, plans, implements and teaches age appropriate activities and/or programs for elementary age children at assigned City day care facilities; and performs related work as required.  The normal work schedule will be weekdays between the hours of 6:15 a.m. and 6:15 p.m., Monday through Friday.  This position is limited to 25 hours per week for a maximum of 1,000 hours per fiscal year. This position is for year-round employment.

What You’ll Do

• To perform semi‑skilled and skilled maintenance and repair work on municipal buildings, facilities and equipment; and related work as assigned.
• Making routine plumbing repairs (example: repairing leaks, unplugging toilets and drains, changing fixtures, etc.)
• Replacing light bulbs and fluorescent lights, and making electrical related repairs (example: replacing electrical receptacles, troubleshooting circuits, etc.)
• Performing routine carpentry work (example: minor paint jobs, installing doors, door stops, cabinet doors, adjustable shelving, park bench repairs, etc.)
• Performing preventive maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems (example: replacing evaporative cooler pads, belts, pumps, air filters, etc.)
